It was a great family day. The extra fee stuff seemed a little muh all things considered. Worth the drive and the day.

I'd pay full price to come here again. Great exhibits, friendly staff and volunteers, beautiful gardens. And I got to feed a giraffe!
Good parking. Clean. Easy to read map. Not too big--managable by walking. Great for young kids and family.
I hadn't been in awhile and the updates were great! Looks so much more interesting & fun.
Very nice small zoo. My grandson loves it. Lots of animals to see and quite a few animals to interact with. A couple snack bars and souvenir shops as well.
It was a nice little zoo wish you could be better with gorillas
Bought seasonal passes, over 9.5K steps through amazing exhibits. Looking forward to returning throughout the year. Have to plan a day trip for the trails.
Outstanding Zoo Lights during the Holiday Season. The Giraffe exhibit is spectacular and they have 2 Fennec foxes that are adorable. There are also hiking trails and a team available for those unable to walk through the zoo. The staff is lovely.
They do a very nice job with both animals and plants from desert regions around the world.
I know it's still a zoo of sorts, but it's still a entertaining, educational place to go, but I did not and would not go in the summer! thanks Gary your awesome
We loved it. It was really hot but taking plenty of water, good shoes and light clothing will help. We fed the Giraffe s for $7 per person. Great experience. Parking is free
Great place to take the kids I'm 58 years old and I had a good time
We specifically came to feed the Giraffes! We were blessed with the baby Giraffe joining us! A must see! With the heat paying the tram is well worth it! The drivers inform you of what is around and point out cool facts and animals.
We spent the day here and really enjoyed our visit. Talked with those who did the Talks about the animal they were presenting. Everyone was helpful and eager to talk about their respective animal.
We have been visiting the Living Desert for many years and always find something new. The staff are very friendly, the keepers and docents very knowledgable and the animals always look healthy.
Great place for kids. Got a little too hot for us northerners. The animals didn't have enough room but that is part for the course for all zoos.
First time to the zoo and was very impressed with the entire place. Animal are well taken care of. Very clean throughout out the zoo. Staff very friendly and informed. A must see.
Bring lots of water and prepare to walk a lot under the hot sun. I heard people complaining who weren't expecting to walk so much but it's just like any other zoo but under extreme heat
You can feed a giraffe, ride a camel and see animals you wouldn't normal see at your local zoo such as a african wild dogs, striped hyena and Angora cattle. They also have hiking trails that take you through the zoo to see more as a reward. The only thing they didn't have was postcards from the living desert. If you feed the giraffes then do t forget to feed the baby!
A wonderful place full of beautiful (and funny) animals. Also amazing desert gardens. The children love it.
My wife and I went to the Living Zoo on Friday, 24 Mar. We had a fantastic time and that is saying alot because I do not like zoos. The animals appear to have lots of room to run and play. The Living Desert is approximately 2 mile walk around. There are bathrooms, water and snacks available in several locations. There were staff members everywhere if you had questions or needed help. We spent over 3 hours walking around and we found a palm oasis where we had lunch. I could go back again, just to make sure I saw all of the animals. Also, The Living Desert has an LARGE animal hospital on the grounds. With surgical rooms, recovery rooms, work rooms and numerous other rooms set aside for all the animals. A must see while in Desert Palm/Palm Springs!
Very unique. Enjoyed my experience with all my family
Lots of fun animals for an excellent price, definitely will go again with friends and family
It was fun. Hot. Wear comfortable clothing! Bring a backpack with snack/waters. I would say if you're limited on time check out the Africa side first it seems to have more things to do.
Nice zoo, friendly staff, animals were well taken care of.
Went for Easter Sunday 'egg hunt'... answered questions about animals & kids got free ice cream at the end. Lots of local critters everywhere; saw deserg iguana battle!!
Fed Giraffes, lots of different animals. Very nice place w/meandering paths thru the animal exhibits. The model trains are also quite neat, detailed/elaborate & worth checking out.
Amazing! They have adapted well the pandemic with new safeties in place!
Love this Zoo, the gardens are well kept all the time and the staff is so helpful.
One of my favorite places to visit in the desert! Family friendly with some special event happening almost every weekend. I also really enjoy the hikes, probably my favorite in the Palm Springs areas for the views.
Great hiking, no dogs, and no one blaring their music so all can hear it. The membership fee is a filter, limiting the number of hikers on the trail. Bring a light lunch to have at the top of the trail overlooking Indian Wells and the Vintage.
Great fun, docents very helpful. Wonderful zoo!
Tim
When it s too hot out, the animals are often hidden away or pretty lethargic.
Animals are so much happier here than a zoo!! Enjoyable time spent! At least a yearly event.
Excellent zoo, great design of the zoo, healthy animals, a pleasure.
The Living Desert is a very special zoo with great special activities. The trick or treat occasion was well planned and it was not overly crowded like I thought it might be.
The most clean zoo i've ever seen! There is even a carousel inside the zoo. My kids had a lot of fun.
Small but inexpensive, they have giraffes, and a lot of other smaller animals. The weather gets pretty hot starting March so bring your sunscreen and hats!
Beautiful place, very well kept, animals are healthy, strong, and lively. All thanks from donations By the community. No words to thank all of you. From staff, donors and all that come to enjoy it all.
You will not be disappointed, plan to spend at least four hours, they have a small restaurant with really good burgers and sweet potato fries. And also a soft serve shop.
Clean bathrooms, lots of them.
THESE ANIMALS ARE MISERABLE! BIRDS ARE MEANT TO FLY, NO MATTER THEIR SIZE. CHEETAHS ARE MADE TO RUN. WOLVES ARE MADE TO HUNT. MOUNTAIN LIONS ARE MADE TO LIVE IN THE MOUNTAINS. GIRAFFES LIVE IN AFRICA! IT WAS EXTREMELY DEVASTATING TO SEE THESE POOR CREATURES EMACIATED IN A HABITAT THAT HUMANS HAVE CREATED FOR THEM AND NOT IN THEIR NATURAL HABITAT. I WILL NEVER PAY TO GO HERE EVER AGAIN IN MY LIFETIME. ANIMALS ARE NOT MADE TO BE CAGED IN SUCH SMALL ENCLOSURES! SHAMEFUL!
You have to go here !!! Feed the giraffes, ride a camel and visit the animal hospital on site. This zoo is amazing !! They feed the animals close to the visitors so you can really enjoy and animals. Be sure to feed the birds as well. Smaller zoo but honestly one of the best !! Love their Meerkat display with campers, etc for the animals. Young and old will enjoy ! Don't miss this one.
Great place to spend the day and help the kids burn energy. I enjoy walking around- been here 20+ times. Peaceful.
Wonderful place to walk and unwind...dont like animals and birds in cages...but guess it's good for children..took great pics there...cool place..they give senior discounts...
Amazing zoo. So much to see. Lots of space and viewing opportunities. Kids loved the model trains - very impressive.
Excellence and diversity of species in both the animal and botanical kingdoms. Get there early and prepare for a perfect day :)
We love the Living Zoo. It's fun for adults and kids.
Great place to bring your children or grandchildren.
Very good, very cool from October to March, tickets are small
Great zoo with plenty of unique animals and fantastic exhibits. The zoo is very flat so don't be concerned about going up or down hills or stairs. We also watched an animal show that was really well put together.
Very nice place to go to and have fun with the kids
It's a nice little get away. I enjoyed all the knowledge it provided along the way. Just wish more of the animals would have been up and alert!
Fantastic place to visit. Lots of engaging displays and interactive spaces. Kids really enjoyed the featured events, the camel ride was a big hit. Would go again to spend more time looking at plants and foilage.
A well laid-out property highlights many endangered animals
Very small zoo. none of the water bowls had water. The enclosures are tiny. No good.
Very interesting, great for families. Bring an umbrella for the sun
Fun place to take the kids, especially on the holidays. Good food and fun times.
What an incredible zoo. Had little open air buses to take us from one area to another. We would just let driver know that we wanted to get off; then when we were through exploring, we just waited for a short spell, for the next little bus to take us on to the next exhibit. Had a lovely afternoon and saw animals I had never seen before.
Amazing. Clean. Nice open areas to see the animals in. Plus you get to feed larakeets and giraffes!!!
Such a lovely place to visit on the way to Palm Spring. Animals are cute and the garden is amazing.
We visited during a field trip. I had so much fun with the kids, wish we had longer to explore but it was interesting to see how animals live and learn about there habitats. I also love how much the kids were so curious and wanting to learn.
I've been to Palm Springs before but never to this zoo. It's a must-see for a reason. I love how low key it is. The volunteers walk the lizards through the pathways! So cute to see. Most of the animals seem like they have ample space but some of the small cats look so cramped. Great display of desert animals from Africa and North America. Great for people to learn about how cool Desert animals actually are
Always love zoos. Giraffes are amazing. The butterflies were not very active. Too cool.
