Great place, doing hard work. The city needs to give them more resources. The price is the cheapest in the city and you get can get emergency funding for it.
Also, all the negative reviews tend to come from the rich people who'd rather see a fancy condo in front of their movie theatre, rather than a place to help the poor/marginalized.
Great people doing important though difficult work for people we all need to think about more often.
It wasn't always the safest place to be staying but the staff do try to make an effort
I saw 2 ducks outside the lighthouse for close to a week. Not even batting an eye at us.
I think they were quack dealers...
The staff do a great job, but it is in a bad area for who they are dealing with and what they are trying to accomplish. It is a blemish on downtown Saskatoon and its development.
Hi my name is myron age 55 was working full time in june 30 when I stepped on something and my foot and other problems started have not worked since I'm in the next few months.
I do not have any drug or alcohol or mental problems at all . Here is my story
First thing I wanna say is this
The guy who was near the lighthouse who tried to attack the accountant with hatchett was very sad thing to hear about is not the fault of the lighthouse it is the individual who had mental issues lighthouse is there to help everyone from the very down and out to alcohol or drug problems and other problems
They are open 7 days a week 24 hours a day there to help anyone in need which is good to see that someone really does care they helped me to get to some of my major medical appointments by there mobile van funded the saskatoon health region
Ok so I am in a crisis situation I had to move our of of a leased house of 14 years as a possible foot amputation could be in the near future due to this becoming a foot ulcer yup in real trouble here early sept 2019 I was packing there was a knock on the door it was a crisis worker and a police officer someone I know called them on me I know who the individual was there was no suicide or anything I was giving things away to people I did not realize when people do this they may take there own life which this was not the situation i was down sizing from 14 years in this rented house so alot of stuff so i told them what happened to my foot the crisis worker recommended contact social service they would help me out to pay for medical drugs that I am going to need and stuff that I may need.
Social service:
Said program sask aid
To help with medical;taxis;ambulances,
Ect;ect,
Or you get basic with no medical or anything just 866.00 now I know why people arein trbl
I go to social service fill all the paper works lot of idiotic questions long waits, I watched people leave crying and very angry as this system very slow and in my opion very obsolete I have an idea that may work better I will explain in a bit what the solution that would likely work better than what is provided.

Great staff picked me up

Was very thankful for there
Help had a few rides to appt
Been very good experience
Guess what when I pass away
There going to get my
Insurance policy as this place
Does a great job, i tell people
Give it to light house they need more fundi
For every person using light
House emergency shelter in
A month my understanding
Social pays only 5 days per month per person light house looks after the rest
Absolutely unfair to light
House that's not right at all
