Let me sharing the BIG TRUTH come out of their cloest. Lighthouse for the Blind Seattle could be good place for everyone such as Hearing with low vision and full blind during they match fit Hearing world. BUT for DeafBlind people not always prefect match for their accessibility at their depts that high precent workers do not use ProTactile as well. They do provide ProTactile training under DeafBlind progarm. They just could use that as lames that they would improve communication system between Hearing blind/low vision, sight and DeafBlind workers. They still put DeafBlind workers on limited positions that they allow others has their more opportunities than DeafBlind workers does! HR system have long way to clean their mess system during they still not doing proper process with DeafBlind appealled. HR didnt do what JUDGE would do by listen all sides but ONE because they have their FAVISM as very common with others companies.
They have special event happen every year called DeafBlind Retreat in Seabeck. They did great job in past before new DeafBlind Retreat director takes over. Things went not very well recently they jump the conclusions so quickly without hearing both sides or ask SSPS who were with while on duty.. They were not even questioned at all but only that one person and made decision automatically! So you get the idea! Seabeck had gotten declined for a while now I understand why some people do not go back and volunteer! We lost good people (you know who they are.. do i need to name them?)
Plus I know for FACT that one person donated $$$$ for years and volunteer SSP and not get him back recently?!! Wassup? Smell rats? Now with my case .. smell rats?

So long.

Sooo much politics among leadership and management...

Sooo much politics among leadership and management... Sadly, the only management that remains is the list of unethical backstabbers on the executive management list. Good luck and best wishes to those below. Hardworking folks on the ground.

I worked there under on an accounting contract for about 6 months way back in 2007-08. I don't live in the area anymore and haven't for quite a while, but I have very fond memories of my time there.

The staff was so friendly and always made me feel welcomed. Working alongside people that have the types of challenges that they do was so inspiring and I'll always be thankful for the experience.
