DO NOT stay at this hotel We stayed this past weekend and woke up to this email this morning: We have become aware of damages to some of the furniture in the room you occupied on October 31, 2020. There may be additional charges. Please contact our Director of Security ( ..) for further information. What type of hotel sends out emails like that with no proof or warning?! Especially one that is a 5 star hotel! When I called them, the Director of Security would not tell me what damage we allegedly did. IT IS A SCAM! Thank goodness I booked through American Express and they said they would deal with them. But beware, this seriously appears to be a scam they are running. I m not sure how its legal to accuse a patron of damage with no proof and then say there will be additional charges without my authorization. I am still in shock that a hotel can say there is damage and threaten additional charges with no proof, pictures or specifics and get away with it! This goes without saying, but there was no damage to the room, before we got there or after we left. Clearly we will not be back and I will leave reviews everywhere possible to warn people. IT. IS. A. SCAM.
