Garen, Chris and the crew have done a considerable amount of work on our house. A complete redesign of our kitchen, a redesign and refresh of our basement and laundry room, and a family room upgrade that included a fireplace swap, tiling and custom mantle - all of which turned our home into a functional, beautiful and fun house to live in. Garen has a keen eye for design and knows color well, our kitchen has a quirky layout, and many of his suggestions turned out to be key. He is also willing to listen to and work with the homeowners, we have strong opinions on certain things so he s open minded and willing which is critical during a stressful Reno. Garen and Chris are trustworthy - we left them in the house a considerable amount of time while we were not on site - these guys are dependable and completed the work to our satisfaction. The quality of the work really shows, we ve had other rooms updated by assorted contractors and the craftsmanship is high-end with HDG. The pricing is fair - we bid our all of our projects out and HDG was not the lowest price every time, however you get what you pay for (quality) and Garen was always up front with total cost and would pass through savings to us if certain aspects of the job came in under budget. Specific shout out to Chris - he is excellent and talented and a great problem solver. Can t say enough about these guys. Renos are brutal and stressful, Hawthorn Development transformed our house into everything we hoped it could be.

We had a new deck put on. They were professional, timely, and cleaned up after themselves. Best of all, the deck turned out beautifully! Garen was very helpful with deck material choices and colors.

Garen and Chuck were fantastic! They exceeded my expectations and went beyond what any other contractor would do (in fact when my toilet overflowed they both dropped everything and were at my house within 20 minutes (on a Sunday)!!!

Hawthorne Development Group remodeled my kitchen and half bath, plus installed wood flooring in my living room/dining room. I have been extremely happy with the results. Garen & crew were wonderful to work with. They kept me informed of progress, worked to minimize disruption, quickly resolved items that I had questions on and made design suggestions for improvements I wouldn t have thought of that I love! I highly recommend them.

We used Hawthorn Development Group to remodel a bathroom and laundry room. Having completely remodeled another bathroom using a different contractor, we knew that the promptly offered bid was fairly priced. Garen and his crew were a pleasure to work with. As project manager, Garen coordinated the demolition and renovation of the bathroom and laundry room, coordinating subcontractors, vendors, employees, permits and village inspections. His attention to detail is excellent, as is his punctuality. We were so pleased with their work that we used Hawthorn Development to install new windows in our home. They assisted us with choosing the window style, took care of every detail and did a perfect job both inside and out. We plan to use Hawthorn Development on our next remodeling project.

I had Hawthorn Development Group come out to remove carpet in multiple rooms, replace with engineered hardwood, and do a full gut of our guest bathroom.

The entire team was so responsive and professional. I was very pregnant the entire project suffering from pregnancy brain and Garen was wonderful about explaining things to me. We also have two dogs, one of which really wanted to help with the reno and again, the whole team was so friendly with the pups.

I knew when each day people would be over and they completed the projects before my due date but baby came 10 days early. When I said crazy things like, I ll be home tomorrow so you can finish up , Garen asked if I instead wanted a few days to acclimate to life with a newborn (excellent advice I m glad I took him up on).

I m excited to have the team back in a few months to update the master bath and eventually tackle the biggest project, our unfinished basement.

We used Hawthorn Development for two projects. The first was bathroom project, last year.. My wife saids she loved how it came out, and that says it all. I was impressed with the work crew's craftsmanship skill and friendly manner. We got exactly what we wanted with no problems at price that beat the other bids. This year it was a rebuild of our outside deck. Same happened for the new deck. We love it. The work crew was professional and friendly. And when we discovered unanticipated extra work, we got charged a very reasonable price for the extra labor and materials. Again better than others bids. I recommend them most highly.
