I have loved the Hartford since we signed all our insurance needs over to them. We saved so much money over our previous carriers. But I just
added a new vehicle yesterday. It was not allowed to be added to my
current policy for some reason and therefore, it took quite a while to
get the coverage started. The agent was very helpful and I would give her
a 10. But all of a sudden the amount of the premiums has increased
dramatically. So, I am still very happy. Just not as happy with the cost as I was when we first switched.

I was assisted by Sholonda and she was extremely patient and took well over 1-1/2 hours talking with me to customize our homeowners contract. I have done business with The Hartford in the past and I find that after being insured with another insurance carried, and being overcharged, I decided to to back to The Hartford.

After purchasing a new vehicle, my insurance was very high. I decided to check into Hartford, through AARP. They quoted me a rate which was about $300 less than my current rate. I was very happy, and the transaction and process was easy and all online.The representative I spoke with was professional and kind. I am very happy to have made the switch.

The Hartford Insurance Company turned me down for long term disability coverage because I had carpal tunnel surgery. I hardly think a common surgery on my wrist is a good reason for not allowing me to have LTD insurance. What a bunch of idiots.

The process was easy and efficient, though I got penalized for paying a parking incident out of pocket, it still counts against my record and so does when I needed help with getting the motor to start, batterie was dead, so two counts against a good rate which then was better that I paid before but not as enticing as it was after the quote

Today, I'm extremely pleased with the service I received. I saved a lot of money and got the same coverage. The representative was respectful and helpful. I have to say that today is my first day with Hartford. I'm just happy to be away from my previous insurer. I look forward to doing business with Harford for many years to come.

No customer service here. I could not believe nobody picked up after being on hold for 37 minutes. This place must be one of the business Clark Howard always talks about. I see everyone that works there loves working there. Why wouldn't they? They don't have to solve anyone's problem. Just put them on hold!

I am so thankful I decided to venture out for quotes on auto insurance and found AARP The Hartford. I was with State Farm, same agent for 47 years. They were continuing to raise my rates. When I questioned they would say it was an over all increase. Keep in mind I had no incidents on my records. After signing up with The Hartford and going into my agents office to sign and cancel all policies, I learned the reason for higher premiums was an age increase. Geeze! why can't people be honest anymore. Never the less, I am glad I made the move, you are saving me $509.82 a year.

I switched from my current company after comparing several, I found the Hartford online site very helpful, then called the number quoted on website. I was able to match my current coverage and save $ at the same time. Very happy with both the online and agent I spoke with.

The representative I spoke with knew how to help me, customized the policies for my needs and got the ball rolling right away. Within an hour I had all the information I needed including my policies and insurance cards. Wow, wow, wow. I am impressed. Oh did I mention she saved me hundreds of dollars over what I am currently paying and also upgraded my home owners insurance.

We have been with Hartford for about 10 years now and the service is always TOP NOTCH and the RATES are EXCELLENT for the coverage we need. We currently have 3 autos and 2 homes, all covered by Hartford.

I did an online quote picking what coverage I wanted it was easy as pie,had no trouble at all. I then called a rep to make sure I had everything I wanted and needed.Saved me over $300.00 a year.So far so good.

Friendly professional people to talk to and were able to give me the same coverage I had with a different company for a very large discount!!! So far so good. They also were able to offer me a workable billing program to suit my cash flow!!!

I am back at Hartford from A company that was not only expensive but the service was terrible. The personnel is very helpful and make sure that I don't get what I don't need. I am sorry I left Hartford and am staying with them for as long as I drive.

Using the total phone for this purchase is always an awakening experience. Having been a P&C agent for many years in FL, I know that as hard as we try there are those who we are unable to communicate on the phone. I have myself told the folks that if they stop complaining and give me the real facts I can try tp help them but when one wants to continue to scream at you, you can not help them.
Patience is not a virtue of all but when you deal on the phone one must remember that the other party my have a different dialect of the English language that is spoken in your area. This is a biggie. Also be prepared to pay for the policy if you want what was offered. No money no coverage, thus if you paid nothing at the end of your phone call, you have nothing as in NO INSURANCE.
Always remember, if you do not understand the person on the other side of the line, they are probably having a hard time interpreting you.
Enough said. this is a great program. Thanks you AARP

Had wonderful experience with Hartford. Audrey was so nice and efficient in changing my policy from old car to new. The young man in finance was also. Everyone I have dealt with has known their job well and been very nice. I recommend anyone who needs Car insurance come to Hartford.

My experience was mixed. I was able to download the policies and pay the premiums online. That was straightforward and easy and I rate it
5 stars. Getting the coverage took longer than expected and required four calls for three policies. I rate that 3 stars.

I called the Hartford AARP program to buy an auto, homeowners, and fire policy for a rental house we own. Two of the policies were issued by one department while the third was issued by another, so I spoke to two reps at the outset. The auto and homeowners applications were pretty straight forward, but the rep couldn't print the quotes because the Hartford's system was having problems. The fire policy took longer because the rep didn't seem to know where to go in the system to get the information she needed. She never was able to print the quote.

Over the next two days I talked to two more reps and finally got all the policies issued as quoted. The Hartford then mailed me two policies, with different policy period dates, for the same rental property. A call today (to a 5th rep) got that resolved.

I thought I was paying too much for Car Insurance, so I started shopping. The Hartford not only had a 12 month (as compared to the 6 I used to get with my old company) But the Really Cool Thing Was They were almost Three Hundred Dollars Less a Year than I had been paying. Changing couldn't have been easier -- I worked a Very Professional, Very Knowledge Young Lady Named Jaymie. She took care of everything and the change over went off without a Hitch---I would Recommend The Hartford to anyone who would like a Great Company, With Great Service and Great People!

The representative was very knowledgeable, patient, and pleasant.She answered all of my questions and took the time to explain in detail my new coverage. We compared my old coverage to the Hartford coverage and I have saved over a $1000.00 on my Auto and Home insurance. I'm very pleased. Hopefully this will be a seamless transition.

ABSOLUTE WORST INSURANCE COMPANY I HAVE EVER HAD !!! I FOUND AUTO INS FOR LESS & MORE COVERAGE ( 125.00 mo ) COMPARED TO THE 283.00 HARTFORD HAS BEEN CHARGING ME. I CALLED A WEEK IN ADVANCE TO CANCEL MY POLICY, AND THE AGENT DIANE COULD NOT OF BEEN ANY MORE RUDE I WAS CANCELING. NO THANK YOU FOR MY YEARS OF BUSINESS......JUST FLAT OUT SHORT & NASTY. I had been a complacent Allstate Auto and Homeowners customer for over 30 years: Never having any claims, but always having cost increases. This year I decided to shop for comparable coverage with different insurance companies and found Hartford to have better rates for the same or maybe even better coverage. Already having second thoughts about this endeavor. That was just one out of several I have spoken with however. I shall see over time if i made a good choice here. For now can't give a five star rating.

Twice I have paid my business policy in full, the premium comes out of my accout then is reversed, in July and Sept 2013. There are sufficent funds in my account to cover my premiums. Now they are charging me a late fee of 10.00. I have not had a claim. The Hardford will not accept my money??? It is a Harford mystery.

My company uses The Hartford for their disability insurance. This company uses delay and deny tactics. They do not honor their claims. Always saying documents were not received,minimizing your condition, and talking by phone like they were inquisitors or work for a police investigation department, staying in single words that you are lying (that they called the doctor and that is not what the doctor said), and don't accept your responses. They operate in bad faith, don't show a minimum amount of humanity , called you to let you know that you will not received any payment, and just the week after, you receive the payment (because you send what they required on time, and have to be processed even when they don't want to do it). Both of the analysts that have deal with my case Joanne Southern and Barbara Vass have been incredibly rude. Worst insurance company I ever dealt with.
