The Galaxy Restaurant and Banquet Center Review

The Galaxy has a good sized sports bar with a solid tap selection, a formal steakhouse style restaurant and a wine bar that serves the steakhouse menu in an informal setting. They also have a patio open in the summer and banquet rooms for events. The food is consistently good and I would say meets expectations for the moderate price. There's better in the Akron area, but a lot that are worse. We drop in for happy hour sometimes as they have hor d'oevres on special and a nice, quiet wine/cocktail bar.

There are 5 different dining experiences. The Circle L steakhouse with locally produced steaks, the patio with live music, the sports bar with winter time live music, the Wine room, and the banquet facility with seating for up to 500. I have been to all and have always enjoyed.

Very nice Restaurant! Good selection, Everything on the menu is good from Steaks to Seafood and Pastas to the Sandwiches. There is a Wine Bar too as well as a Sports Bar and Steakhouse. Also a great Sunday Brunch Buffet. The best place in town for events with several rooms for Catered Banquets. The only reason I didn t give it 5 Stars is because on several occasions we ve had very slow/inattentive service in the Steakhouse.

Attended a fundraiser in the banquet room. Food was delicious. Bathrooms were small considering the amount of people. Parking spaces fill up fast.

Amazing service, great food and wonderful experience. We had our wedding reception in the banquet hall and go back every year for the fish fry. We ve had excellent experiences at the banquet hall, the steak house, the sports bar and the wine bar. Highly recommended!

Was a great sz steak for $20 but my husband said it was the worse steak he's ever had. This was our 1st time there. They only serve certain stuff after 5 which is weird and ridiculous. And I have to agree this steak was Bland very Bland and hardly had any taste. A great steak shouldn't need steak sauce and we needed it. I make a better steak at home. The only thing that was enjoyable about my meal was the lobster mac and cheese.The sides that we got with the steak green beans that weren't cooked all the way. And roasted potatoes they just taste it like a plain potato. Very disappointing meal

Two other dad's and myself took our daughters here prior to a Elementary School "Someone Special Dance". Dinner took an hour and a half which made us late for the dance (and the place was somewhat empty (it was 5 p.m. when we arrived), I ordered a $30+ steak and it came out overcooked. I didn't wanna make too much of a stink so when my waitress walked by I got her opinion (ordered Med Rare and steak appeared to be Medium borderline medium well). She stated I was correct and pointed to the (what I assume was) manager (who was less than six feet away) and said "You should tell him" though I thought she should tell him and not make me repeat myself, I did. He said he would say something to the Chef, I joked that he should be flogged and then he walked away. Like I said, it was about $30 for the steak and it wasn't cooked properly. No offer to take the steak back, no offer of a discount .NOTHING. I tipped 20% (though I had to remind the waitress to bring my drink and she thought it more appropriate that I take things up the chain rather than her, and she didn't know that I didn't eat the steak because she did not remove my plate or say another word to me) and left a note that said something should have been done and left. Just poor service. They did not care I was overcharged and under delivered.

Outdoor patio is nice, but service was very slow. Tough for a work lunch.

We live down the street from this place and rarely go because the food isn t great and the service & management are horrible. We stopped in the other evening after looking at a house and contemplating an offer. We sat at the outside patio More

Attended a private event at the Galaxy Restaurant with catered food and drinks. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and the facilities were top notch. The food and drinks were good. I'd attend another event here and definitely consider it for lunch or dinner.

I had a great time but, while eating my burger of the month i ate the paper someone forgot to take off the cheese..omg.
A work of art with a flaw. How could you miss that.
I know my way around the kitchen just wanted to see what the hype was about.

We love The Galaxy! My daughter is 5 years old and appreciates eating in a room with so much to keep her eyes occupied. The food is delicious and never disappoints. With daily specials and seasonal surprises, there is always something new to try! Great service and delicious food equals a great time! Must try if passing through the area! Banquet Rooms are great for business events and private parties. Did I mention the delicious desserts??

Service was good.Food:mediocre. Great atmospere and roomy. Drinks reasonably prices. Three rooms to choose from...Sportsbar,Winebar& a fine dining option with Steaks&Seafood. No matter what room your in you can order from any of the menus.Calendar of events on tables such as Cinco de Mayo&Kentucky Derby celebrations with coordinated specials. Live music on occasions. Catered events can be booked.

Meh. Okay. Just went for the new beer on tap had dinner too. Sports bar is superrrr loud I couldn t think. Got the philly, flavor was bland and the bun was soggy like they slopped the meat out of a hot water bath that it had been sitting in all day. Fries were slightly over cooked.

Service was quick, and the food was very good. I had the fish sandwich. Couldn't have asked for better.

We usually stop once a year when we are in the area. In the past we have been happy with the food but we're disappointed this time. I feel they have cut back on their portion sizes and my husbands Ruben had so much pepper he only ate half the sandwich

The sports bar was open for business. We for the chicken tenders and 1/2 soup and 1/2 sandwich deal. All the foods came out at the correct temps and tasted pretty good. There were many guys at the bar for a 12:00 noon on a Thursday? One lady in the whole place outside of staff; but by 1:00 p.m. everyone had left from around the bar . The facility seems to have aged fairly well.... really small bathroom for the guys. My friend is small 160lbs and he commented on the size of bathroom.

Came in after my wedding Oct 21st, bartender said they were closed but sign said 2.30 a.m. it was 12.50 a.m.

This place is beyond my expectations food and service was top line me and my were blowin away my parents 60 th anniversary and the excellent in every way go go there

Nice relaxed atmosphere but prices are a little steep for what you get. Burgers tend to be under cooked.

Their meat is sourced from the local ranch, so I opted for the rib eye. I'm not a big steak guy, but it was delicious. They rest of the family enjoyed their meals. The beer selection is also good.

Phenomenal steaks, fantastic selection. The staff was helpful and there were great vegetarian options as well.

It was the place to go,but now it's just another restraint , no better then Applebees, or Bob Evans.

The galaxy is always an enjoyable experience! I have never had a bad meal and the beer selection is the best in town (white raja>all)! If you haven't been, do yourself a favor and check them out.

They work hard on having a clean upscale atmosphere. The cook doesn't always deliver on that, but they try.

Great atmosphere. Plenty of TVs to watch sporting events. Food is always delicious! Sometimes hard to pick what to eat because menu has so many options. Service for the most part is good but occasionally slow. Depends on the day.

Good food, servers in the banquet area were great. It was just to dark and they need signs to say where the rooms were. No one was around to ask. But great food.

Thr food was fantastic as was the wine selection. However, our service was terrible! Our server was not very good at their job and insisted on blaming management for her shortcomings. The manager was absolutely fantastic and often had to visit our table to take care of things our server did not. He was kind and super knowledgeable. He is the reason I gave 4 stars.

Went there for New Years Eve and they had a very big spread of food. The bartenders were all friendly, and the drinks were good too. Abby normal was the band for the event and they kept people dancing all night.

The food was good. Service was rather slow, but we were not in any hurry, as we were hanging out with friends.

My steak was overcooked but they corrected that and my cream spinach and green beans were wonderful. The half ribs were tender with a little spice.
