(The former) Crowne Plaza Oceanfront Hotel Review

If you are going for a wedding, the experience will be ok. If not, expect lots of music from the receptions that will be held outside on the oceanfront. When we visited (for a wedding), there were two weddings Friday night and 4 on Saturday. This creates a parking problem that the hotel can't handle. Usually, we were unable to park at the hotel once a wedding started. Had to park illegally every night. This is an older hotel, not to the level you might expect from a Crowne Plaza.

Mother's day brunch. Too crowded but they had a lot of good. Mimosas should have been complementary given the price per ticket.

This place is awesome. Provides a great view of the ocean from the balcony, friendly staff and very comfortable rooms. They even reward you for not using maid service everyday. I love coming here.

We picked the Crowne Plaza because they had a beautiful outside deck that rests delicately against the ocean. Our guests loved the view-even on a cloudy day.

The hotel has renovated the building and the new colors are bright, light and "happy." All rooms have a refrigerator and microwave, The ballrooms are also very modern.

At first, I hated the idea of a ballroom reception, but after viewing the Crowne, I loved the idea of the ceremony and cocktail party on the deck outside and then using the ballroom for the reception. It was a great change of scenery. I had 80 guests (all out of town) and had plenty of room for the cake, DJ, photo booth and dance floor in the smaller ballroom.

Lauren, the wedding coordinator and Allie, in guest services were wonderful. VERY organized and answered all my questions very quickly.The wedding packages are not only affordable, but all the packages offer tons of food. Lauren will work with whatever you want, so if you want to change the menu slightly, she will get it done. We had a few minor changes three days before our wedding and Lauren was right by our side to make sure everything was completed.

As I mentioned Allie, in guest services, she was a wonderful help with planning the guest rooms, gave us updated guest lists often and was extremely professional if any issues occurred (only one very minor room issue and the problem was quickly solved). I would also like to mention the Bartender that week (Arty, I believe) he bought my husband and I a round when we first arrived at the hotel.

The Hotel is located in a wonderful community. I was beyond happy having my wedding there, so were my guests. My guests flew from OH & WI and they had tons to do. they relaxed on the beach, took surf lessons, went to the Kennedy Space Center, went golfing, etc..

Ok resort. I've stayed at many resorts in Melbourne/Cocoa area and I would say this one is probably good for budget but nothing amazing or extravagant. It has great access to the beach. The bar and restaurant is a little pricey.

Sandy the night time check-in lady is number one! Nice room, great location. We will stay here again. Restaurant and bar onsite. Very clean. Bed was super comfy.

A little worn out and some billing problems on check-in but overall nice, very clean in the room, and good accomodations. Working AC that didn't make a ton of noise and the view from the room was decent.

Great atmosphere. Nice hotel. Dinner/lunch guests previously were able to use the pool. Now they are not. This place once had the best entertainment in the area. Now not so much. Nice and upscale though.

Front desk, rooms, and room service is phenomenal! Beautiful location and romantic view. However, the sevice at the inside bar needs tremendous improvement. Absolutely unfriendly and complained consistently about "going home" during open hours. Poor attitudes.

This review is only for the restaurant. Service was terrible, but at least friendly. Food was good, but overpriced. Nice location on the beach.

5 star staff and view! Dinner was amazing, staff are very helpful and friendly from John at the front desk to shuttle driver and and waitresses.

Excellent breakfast buffet, great and friendly staff, and just a few steps from the beach!

Beautiful hotel with a great location on the beach..

The room was clean and we enjoyed our stay for the most part. The negatives were that the swimming pool was very very hot. With almost 100 degree weather, it was not refreshing at all to be in such a warm pool. It was not just us, but everyone we saw enter the pool had the same impression. Not sure if the heat was on?? The ocean was cold and the reef was pretty close to the shore so we did not go into the ocean and we noticed not many other people did either. The band playing on Saturday was ok, could have been more upbeat for a beach area!

The roasted vegetables are delicious, but the chicken is a little dry

Horrible smell. Checked in late. Room looked nice but I almost passed out from smell, like wet wool socks.

Tiny hot tub, room smelled weird, very slight ocean view, and people partying till 3 am. But, overall a good location with a nice bar. Decorations were nice too.

So far the best beach hotel we have stayed, very clean, well maintain and amazing staff.

Overall the stay was quite decent, and the room we had which were double beds for a family of 4 was not so accommodating as far as space was concerned. The room was also somewhat dated and so were the ice machines outside. Parking is a nightmare with events going on inside the hotel. Tip: they need to invest in a better lightening system for there parking lots at night it's dark and feels unsafe to walk to and from your vehicle.

Hotel staff is friendly and accommodating. Gym is a bit lacking and the breakfast buffet is expensive for what you get but it is a hotel. Outside bar is great and right on the water.

Fantastic location. Did not have to go anywhere for our two day visit ! The beach was amazing and pool was pretty great too. I would spend the money to go back again based on location alone.

Booking an event here. Christina is amazing to work with. Can't wait to have our event!

Second stay at this hotel, comfortable room, clean, bed was nice. Room service a bit overpriced, but overall a pleasant experience

The location of crowne plaza is not that far and the place is amazing

Beautiful place. Restuarant was way to expensive. Beds and pillow very comfy. Ice was convenient. Laundry area was easy to use. But access to powders was hit and miss. Clean, staff was friendly. But i was unhappy that the cleaning crew was unable to communicate with me. She could not speak any English at all. In my personal opinion this should be a requirement. My son moved to Germany and is required to learn and communicate in German both in writing and language. I dont think asking people to use our national language is inappropriate.

Came here for a training, lunch was great and awesome views.

Band Phoenix was great!! Too bad it was windy and chilly outside as may have had a better turn out!! Need more beers for happy hour other than just Bud Light..excuse me!!!

Beach view was poor for most rooms. Otherwise everything was as expected.

Beautiful view of the ocean. The staff was incredibly nice when we arrived 2 hrs early and let us in our room. As we walked out to the beach, they had a large patio playing music with a little shack serving drinks. Lots of fun!

Went for my company Christmas party. Great service. Had fun.

The Marisol restaurant sucked in every way except the view. We don t think they had an actual chef in the kitchen. The server disappeared forever and was rude at us as if we were putting her out because of all the problems we had with burnt burgers, etc. The manager agreed all was unacceptable and agreed we shouldn t have to pay anything. They shouldn t have been open if they weren t ready. Absurd, especially in a hotel like this. I m glad we weren t staying there.

Wonderful location, easy access to the beach and can watch rockets leave Kennedy Space Center. Only issues I had was that the hotel room appliences were a little dated.

Not worth of Crown Plaza name. Small dark rooms, old furniture, not appealing. Charging guests for parking didn't help with overall experience.

The lobby staff in Business the lobby, business meeting rooms, and staff for the best part of this hotel. Its closeness to the ocean is wonderful and the exterior pool is a nice addition. The business center is small and the room itself was less than desirable. General things in the room or dilapidated or broken. The shower handle was about to come out of the wall and hence no hot water. I had to screw on fittings myself in the sink. Even thr iron had broken pieces. Just not what I would expect from the usual Crowne Plaza or a 3-star hotel. Had I stayed longer I would have requested another room.

Only visited one of the public venue rooms. Spacious and well organised.

It's kind of just an average room that you get here. The outside is really the best part of this place. Great ocean view and pool area. But the room and room service is just alright.

The hotel has great entertainment. We experienced two great bands. The food is really great, and favorable. I enjoyed the beach, and the atmosphere.

I love this hotel!!! I stay here every time I come to town for work. I have nothing but good things to say about this place. The staff are nice, friendly and accommodating.

Had meetings at the hotel. Ballroom was set up great, breaks out on the deck overlooking the beach was nice.

The staff in this hotel treated my entire family like their own! Paul, Joe, Brian, Josh and the GM ... everyone! Even the precious housekeeping department and the beach chair rental gentleman went above and beyond! I was down for cancer treatment and my husband is a 30 year USAF hero. We traveled with our 11 year old daughter. They made sure to help keep all of our spirits up and we felt so cared for! If you have a choice... STAY IN THIS FAMILY FRIENDLY SPOTLESS AMAZING HOTEL! God Bless each of you for helping us through such a hard time

Has been here a few times the last few years. Friendly and helpful staff, but needs renovation. Ground floor rooms in southern building is bad.

BEWARE of this hotel. If you want a good night's rest, try the DoubleTree Suites by Hilton down the road. DO NOT TRUST THE ADVERTISEMENTS!!! The advertisements are just luring you just as they did to me! This thing isn't even a hotel, it's a motel. This facility is old and has messes all over the place. There is a spilled drink that is probably still there when I got there till I left. The floors are dirty and unfinished. The elevator is old and slow, it takes about half an hour to get from the top floor to the bottom. The moist weather destroys you bed and bathroom. In fact, on the shower curtain, there was a urine stain and the carpet inside the room was moldy and smelly. Customer Service at the cafe is bigoted and their amenities are outdated. Overall, my experience at this was the worst in my life.

The view is beautiful from our room, the staff is great especially the bellman. There is a $9 a day additional charge to park your vehicle on the property which we were not told about until check in. We have been here 1 night so far and they had live music, overall it has been a fun experience.

We were in the main ballroom for a work party. The buffet and drinks were excellent, however, one of the bartenders really took his time. Good drinks, but long line. Otherwise, excellent service!

The hotel is located right on the beach, which is nice. The room was very clean and had a patio outside. The bathroom had an unusually small counter around the sink, which is a weird thing, but it was noticeable. The hot water in the shower went from either Luke Tatooine hot to Anakin Mustafar hot, so be careful there. WiFi speeds were pretty good. I did not eat at the restaurant, but free coffee was provided in the morning.

Beautiful renovations. This is our local home away from home. Staff is always friendly, rooms are clean and the view couldn t be better!

Very nice room, very comfortable, and GREAT service. The front desk people, particularly Mollie & Allie, are some of the best I've ever met. The only drawback is that only the suites have direct ocean views, so for much less money, stay a few hotels down at the Doubletree and get yourself an ocean-view balcony (the prices may be similar, but I got the Doubletree for about 1/2 price on Priceline).

This review is strictly based on our COVID-19 stay with the hotel. NO free breakfast was provided. No daily room attendance. You have to request towels daily while they do not come in to remove wet towels from prior day. The humidifier in the bathroom was on 80 percent all our clothes were damp even our blankets on the bed. IF you open the sliding doors once the humidity will NEVER leave. The pool is nice and clean. The ocean has terrible smelling seaweed lining the coast and the ocean has boulders in the water beware, my husband got badly cut up not seeing them in the water ( no life guards, enter at your own risk). The restaurant on the premises was average and breakfast for a family of 4 cost with tax and tip about 80.00 (Dinner closer to 100.00 and then some. I have no interest returning here. Rooms were clean but again you have to request toilet paper and towels. No microwaves either. Rugs were well worn, rooms dated and again the one humidifier in the bathroom did not suffice keeping clothes dry. I had to come home and wash our dirty and clean clothes, laundry for two days. Most if not all guests inside did NOT wear masks making my family and I feel very nervous no wonder Florida has a spike in Corona Virus!

Frankly I expected much more from a 3.5 star hotel. The rooms are small and uninspiring. Stained old furniture, outdated, unappealing. Service was ok, nothing to write home about. To me this is really a 2.5 star hotel, must get an extra star for being oceanfront. There are plenty of other oceanfront hotels nearby, and I've staid at several of them, they are all better than this and no more expensive. Stay elsewhere.

We had high hopes for this place given the cost for one night, but there are some improvements needed. The first room we were given had bugs everywhere. On the ground, on the AC and in the toilet. We told the front desk and were given a new room which was better. The buffet is seriously overpriced with some rude servers. Note that coffee and other drinks aren t included and are also overpriced. We weren t impressed with the service from the staff. Will try another hotel next time.

There was no microwave in the room, and the front desk wasn't helpful in finding a solution. I was told by one person it was removed due to Covid19, but upon checkout I was told housekeeping had some for use. Also my alarm clock was 2.5 hours fast and no one knew how to change the time. I had to figure it out on my own. Everything else was good. Good price on a room with a balcony by the ocean. Great ocean side bar with easy beach access and competitive bar prices on beer. There are a lot of TVs for watching sports too. Bar closes a little early due to turtles hatching on the beach. The pool is nice with the deep end reaching 7.5 feet (2.3 meters).

We paid for ocean front,and was put in a room looking at the rooftop and a/c units. No sliding glass door like the pictures showed, instead a door that goes outside. A/C unit leaks water all over the balcony. The room is not worth $200.00 a night, more like a motel 6... Totally not what the pictures look like when booking it. Ten dollar parking fee and you have to park across the street. We will never stay here again. Then the staff is rude. I told her that the Marriott in Melbourne was nicer than this. She then preceded to tell me I'm welcome to go there. No we can't because we already prepaid for this place. Next time we will go to the Radisson , Hilton, or Double Tree..

The room was spacious. They view was lovely n the sound of the ocean put me to sleep.
