Rooms are over the top. Fantastic food and great staff
I spent almost a week here during a California coast road trip and loved it. This was the hotel I stayed at the longest amount of time during my 17 day road-trip up Highway 1 from San Diego all the way to Sonoma and then back through Yosemite ending in Anaheim for a Disney race.
Staff were all welcoming and warm and the little amenities like snacks, drinks and cookies were fabulous. I ended up hoarding the cookies and taking them with me to Yosemite where they were a life-safer after long days on the trails!
The property itself is beautiful and well-kept with a nice open pool and firepits, outdoor eating space, a gorgeous spa, well-appointed rooms with luxury bathrooms (think heated tiles and steam showers) and nearby to tons of wine country goodies.
While here I tried to do a hot air balloon ride which was cancelled due to winds but I was able to zip-line, hike in the nearby, visit Healdsburg for dinner and spend a day at the spa being spoiled with the best in-house manage of my life thanks to Tamra.
Food is very good - I only had breakfast on site but I very much enjoyed it. The chef takes it seriously and the menu changes often with fresh, local ingredients (my kinda thing).
This place is stunning and relaxing and I felt spoiled rotten, just what I was looking for. I plan to come back again this summer!
Calm ambience. Although the restaurant was closed that afternoon, the little kiosk was open, and made the best bacon lettuce avocado and sprouts sandwich I ever had, and I've had a lot.
Our favorite get a way. Amazing staff. Amazing location. The best food. This is a must visit.
Truly the nicest place we've ever stayed at. If you get the chance to stay at the Farmhouse, do it!
A destination dining experience. Delicious entrees, good presentation, very attentive servers.
Nice small hotel with great service and cozy rooms. Unfortunately a bit too close to a busy road. Amazing restaurant.
The restaurant it's amazing and it's no surprise it has a Michellin Starred restaurant. Everything from the service to the staff and food. It's an unforgettable experience.
High priced for those who have more money than brains
My wife and recently visited the Farm House Inn Restaurant. It had been highly recommended by people we know. The experience was not what was expected. Our service was poor. Our waiter was a robot rattling off the details of the four course menu while never introducing himself or engaging us in any other manner. He incorrectly inputted the wrong entree for me and served my wife while I waited for 10-15 minutes for the correct entree. This really threw off and ruined the entire evening. I would also mention that my wife ordered the steak and it was average at best. At the end of the evening the waiter offered the old "free desert" trick which I thought was extremely poor. A very disappointing evening!
Outstanding dinner. Great wine pairings. Phenominal service. Ate as a guest and imagine the cost was pretty high.
Beautiful, exquisite and amazing sommelier service.
We arrived a bit before our reservation but were seated immediately. The atmosphere is warm and relaxing. Our waiter greeted us, and shared some menu information, then left us to our decision. The menu is straightforward and offered excellent selections that met a variety of tastes. The food service was effecient and timely. We chose scallop, halibut, tortellini, and lamb. Each perfectly prepared and served. The wine pairings were great fun due the uncommon varietals served; gurwerztraminer, gruner vetliner, and others. We enjoyed the wines very much. We would have preferred the sommelier be more engaged, but he was very busy. Expensive, of course, but we enjoyed it.
Flavorful small portions for 3 or 4 course meal. Michelin rated , but perhaps overpriced starting at $100, without beverage; thus 4 star rating from me.
Phenomenal experience. Hospitality is focused and attention to detail was very high level. The room, pool, and wine tasting were fantastic. The meal at the restaurant was world class and definately deserving of their Michelin star.
The food was all expertly prepared and the wait staff friendly and attentive. Will definitely be back.
On a mother-daughter Sonoma trip, went to the restaurant to celebrate my birthday. Outstanding food, wine selection and service. $$$$ but well worth the experience! Definitely would go back again!
The food was very well presented and served as you'd expect from a fine dining establishment. I had the sea bass main course and it was cooked perfectly. The sauce that accompanied it was delicious and really elevated the fish.
So much more value than a high-end ritsy hotel. It felt homey, rustic, and luxurious all at once. I couldn't have asked for anything further. They even have a cat.
We had a fabulous bottle of red by the outdoor fire pit. Perfect way to end the night.
Standout restaurant. One of my favourite places ever.
We visited in early Feb, 2018 when the executive chef was on vacation. The sommelier totally did her wonder on building up the food and wine pairing before we tasted them. We tasted ocean from the octopus dish with the mineral and briny from the wine pairing. We had wonderful time to share her experience.
Charm
Hospitality
Luxury in a homey setting. We felt like we were the only people on the grounds even though the inn was full. Privacy. Everything beautifully executed from the room to the grounds to the restaurant.
Dinner was phenomenal! Food was delicious and expertly prepared, wine pairings were excellent, staff was more than accommodating, super friendly.
I'm sure it must be great. Didn't eat there 25$ lunch salads ugh!
Outstanding food and a simply incredible staff. Show up a few minutes early and enjoy a walk around the gorgeous Inn grounds.
Service was spot on. Very knowledgeable and attentive. Well flavored seasonal food.
Amazing food, impeccable service and the wine pairing was among the best I have ever experienced. Can't say enough, fully deserving of their Michelin star
Beautiful details with a wide range of complimentary extras -- a bath bar (soaps, scrubs, etc.), homemade cookies, s'mores, wine hour, house car for dinner transportation. Gorgeous property with tasteful, inviting grounds. Hospitable service!
Wow! If you are looking for a place to stay in the heart of wine country, look no further! The answer to any request is yes. If they did not have on property what you wanted they would send someone off property to get it for you. Dining was over the top at their Michelin Star restaurant. If you love wine do the pairings at the dinner. It is a treat! We will return here as does many of their guests.
Beautiful, clean, romantic, quiet great foid, hospitable and curtious staff
I enjoyed a lovely dinner with my wonderful girlfriends.
The food and We are excellent and The Service Of the best
Quite simply the best dining experience of my life... beat comparably priced venues in NYC, SF, and Boston for food, wine pairings, and service.
Great experience at the Farmhouse Inn, with dinner being the best. The food and wine pairing was excellent made better by the great waiter and the Somelier who was very entertaining. Overall the rooms are overpriced and breakfast too. Charging $80 for a couple of eggs and sausage is too much. The spa was relaxing with great massage therapists. My only gripe would be the front desk staff were a bit immature. When asked to call wineries to make tasting appointments they simply circled a couple on a map. I would go back for dinner, but the rooms are not worth the price.
Excellent food. We had four courses plus wine pairing and everything was exceptional. Great service. Pricey but worth it.
Everthything about this restaurant is spectacular. We celebrated our anniversary here and it will always be remembered.
Sublime meal and pairings, superb friendly service!
This is for the restaurant and the staffs. Absolutely superb service. Food was wonderful with many outstanding dishes. Nothing pretentious, you can feel very relaxed while stay have a classy experience.
Consistently the best food I have ever eaten. Love the place and go there once a year for the last 5 years.
My friend and I stayed at the Farmhouse Inn for his birthday at the hotel for a week and it was easily the best hotels I've ever been to.
Great isolated yet accessible location. Spa and Michelin star restaurant on site. An amazing escape for couples.
If I could give Minus Stars I would The Ultimate Rip Off! Over Priced and Over Rated. Not a Luxurious Hotel at all. Just a Terrible 25 room Bed and Breakfast at best. I believe all positive reviews they received were written by friends and family, no one that actually paid their rates would recommend and feel they received any value whatsoever. My Partner and I stayed there in early September 2015. $995 a night before tax, the amenities provided were next to none, free water, soda, bath soaps and morning breakfast. . No bar service or Room Service, Bath Towels as rough as you'd find at a Motel 6. The morning breakfast was limited at best. A better tasting and more diverse breakfast could be had at any Best Western or Holiday Inn Express. If you have dietary restrictions you re in trouble. When we arrived temperatures were approaching 100 degrees. Our room had no air conditioning for three nights. On the second night we asked the night clerk to check the temperature of our room He said open the door for a couple hours but no much longer as to keep the bugs out! Seriously!! They did nothing to accommodate us for three nights finally moved us to a tiny room when a pipe burst in front of our room. When finally moved we were moved to a room half the size, yet they called it more luxurious. Everything was 1/3 the size, bathroom, shower, closet, and a television set you had to stand in front of to watch because it was so tiny. Absolute Joke! They gave us a $133 per night price reduction off their $995 a night rate for our discomfort. I asked for a greater consideration, owner said I was trying to blackmail her. Owner is oblivious and ignores guest s requests and becomes hostile when you ask for ADEQUATE COMPENSATION FOR THEIR FAILURE TO PROVIDE TOLERABLE CONDITIONS and live up to what they claim is laughable luxury. They clearly don t care about repeat business because they know none will happen. This is not a Farmhouse Inn, It s a Barn Inn. Trust me; if you stay you will say I should have listened to that review and you will feel equally ripped off!
No one offered cocktails. But they surely offered everyone around us some...... Horrible service..
I have been here 2 times and it is absolutely fantastic! The breakfast is always so delicious and the dinner menu is always amazing. I love how relaxing and quiet it is too. The spa is definitely worth visiting because their masseurs are top notch! They also have baked goods, cider and complimentary bath salts and soap in the front lobby area. One thing I would want to point out to the hotel as a suggestion (a very minor one) would be to upgrade the Keurig machines to Nespresso machines. I feel like it would be the perfect touch of luxury to this elegant hotel. I cannot wait to come back for another visit!
Just DO NOT purchase a gift certificate from them. If your recipient should misplace it that are SOL. As the Inn does NOT CARE to track them. I've been in business for over 20 years and it's really NOT THAT BIG OF A DEAL to track a handwritten Gift Certificate. I won't give them my business again.
Vast difference between rooms depicted and described online from those you receive, disappointment in comparison to many places we ve stayed in In Sonoma and Napa Valleys. When I questioned, I was offered to upgrade for a fee TO THE ROOMS SHOWN ONLINE that are sitting empty. Lack of door on the closet that holds a refrigerator with blue light, bleach on the carpet, cracked tile and heavily chipped inexpensive furniture. Jetted tub doesn't work.
I was curious why it receives great ratings and realized most are for the restaurant, which is fabulous.
Very nice place to have a nice meal, the rabbit 3 ways was excellent.
Having eaten in world class restaurants all over the world, Farmhouse Inn is a one star Michelin that lives up to its reputation. We started with the roasted Dungeness crab legs with black trumpet mushrooms, baby artichokes, mizuna, and a Meyer lemon-fine herb beurre blanc. For entree, the zinfandel braised short ribs, with gremolata, creme fraiche mashed potato, horseradish scented savoy cabbage was fantastic.Try the decadent chocolate souffle!
The experience is just amazing. You just have to try this place out. Don't miss it.
Awesome local Fine Dining with great atmosphere, food and staff! A Michelin Star restaurant.
Dinner was great though atmosphere was a bit stuffy with mostly whispering in dining room. Sommeliers had great recommendations and food was prepared in creative ways with local ingredients and plated beautifully.
Don't pass this one by. What a stunning place. Immaculate and a perfect retreat to pamper and indulge.
The wife and I tucked in here for a date weekend -- it was nothing short of amazing! Old farmhouse ambiance, delicious food, beautiful grounds, s'mores and Charlotte the cat. We look forward to visiting again!
My wife and I decided that to do the majority of the restaurants on our to do list, we needed to be in Sonoma for 3 nights. The choice of where to stay, we picked heaven. The irony of it all TC also know as Theresa the guest relations manager was an angel, I do a lot of traveling with my wife and my business partner and I m not sure I can remember having someone as competent as TC taking care of us before. We had one special reservation set up she handled the other ones for us, plus if it wasn t for her we d have never had such a great day with Alexandra.
The farmhouse is set on the middle of the forest and it s idyllic and tranquil. The staff as accommodating as possible, and the rooms were fabulous. This inn complete with a spa and restaurant, (more on that later,) are definitely a place that you need to put on your go to places.
I wish I could put into words how fantastic our stay was. Incredible property, incredible staff, incredible food, incredible everything!!!!! Experience beyond belief. Highly, highly recommend.
I had a great stay here. The staff were really accommodating and our room was beautiful with a semi private patio. They also offer smores and fire pits for ultimate relaxation. The location is also situated near to a few local wineries including La Crema and Martinelli.
Went here a couple of years ago with friends in autumn. Walked away thinking wow. Service was top notch, food exellent, ambience just right.
Went here last week for anniversary /birthday combo. Whilst still good, definitely seemed to have lost a bit of the wow factor.
First time round you could hardly do anything without one of the wait staff appearing to offer more water, check if all was OK, fold a napkin etc.
This time the service (whilst still high quality) was more hands off. Took a long time to place order for example and overall didn't give that ultra high quality feel. Also, my wife mentioned our event but they forgot to make note of it despite the table behind us getting a little something for a similar reason. Again just contributed to the 4 rather than 5 stars.
For the record we both did 4 courses such with wine came to about $450.
My husband and I were welcomed to the Farmhouse Inn as if it were our home! Every staff member and manager made sure to make us feel incredibly relaxed and stress free despite current stipulations surrounding the COVID 19 pandemic. The food was spectacular and the quaint accommodations were perfect! It was my definition of heaven on Earth and I dream of going back one day!
Fantastic boutique hotel with wonderful service and great amenities. I can't wait to return!
Came for a four course dinner with wine pairing. Overall, we had a great experience. We had the ahi, crab, octopus, pork belly, halibut, rabbit, chocolate souffle, and lemon tart. Everything tasted excellent and we got to experience a lot of new flavors in the food. The wine pairing was pretty good and the sommelier was quite knowledgeable. With the food, the halibut was quite underwhelming when compared to the other dishes (that all has some excellent flavors and were exceptionally prepared). The halibut was just standard and not special. The desserts were ok but we had higher expectations given the rest of the meal. In all, the food and drinks were great but the price to quality ratio was greatly underserved (total was worth half the price paid). It was a good experience but would not return.
The farmhouse Inn was definitely one of my favorite dining experiences. It was absolutely delicious and everything that I dreamt it would be :) It was a slow and relaxing dinner and the wine pairings were great.
What I ate
Yellowtail Crudo - Amaze
Squash Soup with Shrimp - The mushroom and shrimp were perfect, but the soup broth was way to sweet for my taste
Crab Crepe - It was good. I didn't order this appetizer so I didn't expect to like it, but it was pretty good.
Octopus - Amaze
Sea Bass - Amaze
Souffle - Amaze although I did not enjoy the wine pairing, but I don't enjoy dessert wines with chocolate tones.
The only negative thing throughout the entire dinner was the manager in the place. We used a gift card and we wanted to leave the wonderful server the remaining amount. The manager approached us about ordering more wine or entrees and tried to convince us to spend the rest there. No thanks dude, we want you to leave the rest for Michael. We spent the day receiving massages and facials and had no problem tipping the staff at the spa whatever we wanted. Anyway, all was wonderful and Michael was a treat.
Good day!
Michael in the restaurant made our experience one of the best yet. What an amazing place.
Fantastic wine pairings, very pleasant service, and a delicious meal. Very glad to make the trip out.
Get reservation before this place fills up quickly with good reason. Fantastic atmosphere and staff. Selections are extremely fresh and prepared immaculately. The passion comes through in each delicious course.
Absolutely unreal - the food is just out of this world, and the wine pairings were spot on!
Lovely dinner! They prepared a special vegetarian main dish for me which was delicious. The lemon risotto cake was my favorite!
My husband and I have made our rounds at the hotels around here from Calistoga Ranch to Solage to Kenwood Inn. This hotel is so special, really in a class of it s own. It s the epitome of a getaway. The rooms are cozy with lovely fireplaces, super comfortable beds and plenty of space. Everyone was so welcoming and lovely, makes you feel right at home. They had top notch wine tasting suggestions. We had breakfast in bed and it was DELICIOUS. I would recommend this hotel before any of the others in the area.
What an amazing place. Great rooms, generous amenities, helpful staff. And an awesome cat.
there is a quality of timeless elegance about the farmhouse inn as if it were taken out of an old movie set. the food is fresh, wholesome, and beautifully prepared, and the service is sweet and gentle while attentive and knowledgeable. the establishment itself is far away from anyplace one is likely to be, so getting to and from dinner (and finding parking) is a bit of a chore, but the whole dining experience is so special as to make it worthwhile.
I spent a night and had dinner there. It was a present for my birthday so I can't comment on quality price.
I had a great time overall, due primarily to the amenities and interior design (cozi, beautiful yet unassuming), and the service (everyone was nice AND helpful, there but not in your way). The room was small-ish but included a real fireplace, a sauna, a spa tub (all in good condition) and the right amount of "goodies"
Restaurant was great. Hard to judge since I had no idea of the price but I like fine cuisine in a good atmosphere and they hit all the right notes, from the menu (classic yet original), the food (well prepared and presented) and the service.
One thing to note to avoid disappointment (the Inn owner had warned me over the phone beforehand, again a great sign of great service): Farmhouse is located on a busy road, so you hear the traffic loud and clear when outside. When inside, noise insulation is good.
We are here for our anniversary last week and it is a great atmosphere. Very well done place and a very nice inviting staff. The ability to choose 3 or 4 courses was nice as well as the wide wine and beer selection. The rabbit for my main course was awesome. The mustard was a great way to accent the tender rabbit. For the pre-set price for dinner it was worth it. The property was impeccable and very inviting for guests.
A fantastic meal! I can understand how they got their Micheline rating.
Absolutely recommend. Top notch service. Rooms meet HIGH luxury standards. Bed and sheets plush. Service spot on.
