Horrible management at The Burlington in St. Paul....

Horrible management at The Burlington in St. Paul. Ever since Excelsior started managing the property in Fall 2019, we have had a huge amount of crime - cars broken into in the garages, storage units ransacked, packages stolen in the "secure" room, etc. The people in the office are very reluctant to actually help. People are dealing with moldy windows, cigarette and weed smoke despite there being a no smoking policy, and more. Tenants like myself do not feel that management cares about the safety or security of their paying renters.

Save your money and live elsewhere. No amenities ever functioning or accessible, yet you pay for them as if they re available. No grounds security resulting in multiple break-in s, package room robberies, and general unsafe living conditions. The apartment renovations are simply repainted cabinets. Water pressure is brutally poor, every apartment is horrifically poorly lit if there are even overhead lights. One bedroom doesn t have a single light even. Management changes monthly since they can t keep anyone working there, and if there is someone on the grounds, they re typically nowhere to be found, on personal calls unrelated to work, or aren t even in the office for their 3 day work week. The list can continue all day but long story short, save your hard earned money and live somewhere where the building has upkeep, working and accessible facilities/amenities, safe living, and an actually good value. Now they re even upping rent to try and make up for the lack of residents living here now, which makes NO sense.

"Ever upward" is the phrase I describe my happiness as the days add up with Excelsior Group out of my life. Never have I met more stubbornly incompetent apartment managers in my life. Any complaint was met with scapegoating and a cold molasses speed of response. It was obvious that they only cared for the money coming in without wanted to invest any back into the property.

Stay far away from any property or project the Excelsion Group is involved with. Why?

Excelsior Group is the developer for the community Adelaide Landing in Hugo, MN. They have touted their "achievement" of providing a community irrigation system, which relies on rain/runoff to sustain irrigation service to the community.

Instead, they have implemented a poorly designed community irrigation system which is wholly inadequate to meet the needs of the Villas community it's supposed to serve.

To make things worse, they have repeatedly failed to acknowledge or take action to correct the non-functioning irrigation system, lack of water capacity to serve irrigation needs for the homes, non-existent ownership of the issues.

There is a single retention pond serving 80+ homes. It is nowhere near capacity to serve irrigation needs. There are other ponds in the community that also contain irrigation water but they are separated for use for other single family homes and even though there is adequate water there it will not be moved to where it's needed.

The developer has thus far refused to take any action whatsoever, ignoring the issues as a stall tactic until they can transition the HOA board to homeowners who will then be required to pay to correct the poor design of the irrigation system.

Do yourself a favor. Buy somewhere else. If I could rate them 0 stars, I would have.

My time at The Excelsior Group (TEG) was wonderful and pleasant. I enjoyed everyone I worked with. I felt they did a terrific job helping new employees learn how things operate with training and mentors. I did leasing for TEG coming from college. This was a wonderful job, learning much needed job skills. I think if you're someone with positivity and passion in your work, TEG will help you reach your personal and professional goals.

At their property (The Burlington Saint Paul) they have declined to meet with residents about their lack of communication. They haven't fixed broken exterior doors. They have locked people out of their own apartment buildings by changing fob codes and not notifying residents about it until the next day. They have misquoted rent for lease renewals and lost leases on several occasions. They have also leaked tenenat personal information to some residents on more than one occasion as well.

On site management must be stepped over to produce any results. Upper management is accommodating and corporate in their candor but ultimately do little as well. Dont rent from them.

I ve rented from Housing Hub (0/10), Sherman Associates (6/10), and TEG has been my favorite to rent from so far. Modi has incredible management and maintenance services. I went out of town and Jessica, the manager, called me to make sure I was okay when she hadn t seen me in a few days. I ve never had any issues living here, and I hope to move to a TEG property a little closer to work once my lease is up.

Living at 365 Nicollet has been an enjoyment. While the rent is steep at $1,500 for a studio.. That s downtown prices for you, the amenities are nice and the location is awesome. I do wish I would have been warned about the hotel being build right in front of me, I think that would have been a fair reason to negotiate down the rent a bit. If you do read these comments, maybe you can talk to me about that. I want to give shoutout to the staff, specifically Rich who works here and Susanne (or Susan) who have always been extremely friendly and helpful.
