I would rate it a zero if I could.

I would rate it a zero if I could.
On day ONE my 14 year old son was attacked by another patient during group therapy and was taken to the emergency room. There is NO individual therapy which is a huge miss for this age group. We had to find a phychiatrist to pay hour in addition to and outside of.the program. Finally, even though 1 on 1 interraction is discouraged, somehow my son was able to aquire a 'girlfriend' from his same group during his 6 week program. This was an awful experience and he didn't benefit from it at all.

The Excel Center got us through one of the toughest part of our teens life with empathy, caring, professionalism and deep expertise in DBT therapy. They involved the whole family in the treatment and recovery and am happy to report that our daughter is a changed young adult as a result of being in this program.

It is a horrifying visual experience for a child. Hardly any windows, dark hallways, the presentation was enough for me to realize, this facility is not run by visionaries. The entire industry of mental healthcare is broken and this place is the perfect example. If a 51 year old adult is intimidated to go through the front TINY door, rest assured a child will be frightened. ***don't look at google maps and think that is the buildings presentation. Go around the back of the building, scary.

Do not send your child here. We sent our seven year old here last year after some severe behavioral issues at the end of 2018. They did a good job of selling this to us, but remember it is for profit and owned by Millwood. 1) they told us they would keep him there all day during school and help him but they called us all the time to come get him 2) The group therapy did no good 3) For medication they prescribed sedatives which only made him sleep all day 4) They used their outpatient model to try and force us into intensive hospitalization at their facility in Arlington 5) When we refused sending him to their hospital they called CPS on us saying we were a danger to our child's welfare. He did better after we left through no help they provided. Thankfully our child is doing better and back in school no thanks to them. DO NOT RECOMMEND. THEIR PURPOSE IS TO TAKE YOUR MONEY.

Please please please don t bring your child to this facility. They have failed us not once but twice. One of the nurses who works at Excel Center was sloppy in administering medication and gave my 7 year old someone else s medicine. They say they don t keep medication there but it s a lie. This facility is allowed to administrate medication when a child needs their medicine. They have denied everything and wont take responsibility. I have proof there were very high levels of amphetamines in my child s system. I m so proud of my child for being honest with me and telling me what happened. I am beyond concerned for the safety of other children who attend this facility. We were very lucky and thankful he had no long term injuries but the next family might not be so lucky. Please read some of the other comments and do your research. After going through this very scary experience I have talked with The Children s Medical Center and Cook s children who both have an excellent program and much tighter rules and regulations for the safety of our children. Please don t make the same mistake I did and choose this facility because it s cheaper or closer to your home.

Beware of this "school". They claim to help special needs and behavioral challenged kids, but create an environment of distrust and tension. It's mainly group therapy, with a little bit of education sprinkled in just enough to be called a "school". For ADHD kids, this school will fail your child. Do yourself and your child a favor, avoid this place.

Gonna be brutally honest about this one this place is somewhat good but mostly bad from my experience there I didn t like it at all too many rude employees especially mrs Reagan she is extremely rude and picks arguments with kids which is strange because she chose to work with them If I were you I d go somewhere else this place cares about money and nothing else being a milwood affiliate doesn t make it any better that place is a real life hell and excel isn t too much better take your kid somewhere else and save your money .

Do Not take your child here. I have a much bigger problem than what I came to them with. My daughter is a very emotional person they took something she said and ran off with it without verification of her story or taking account of her actions until the harm was done.

After reading many mixed reviews, I was nervous about sending my son here for help. My 15yo son was severely depressed, anxious and has ADHD. He was really isolating himself from friends and doing poorly in school. Excel Center has provided him with great coping skills and taught him how to re-focus back to public school. He loved the group therapy and his therapist, James. I highly recommend this for your child or adolescent. As with any program, please remember that the individual has to want the help in order to receive it well. My son is the one who initiated wanting to talk with someone and wanted to get help. I hope if you're reading this, you will give this place a chance.

Excellent day program. My child opened up to James and really liked learning from Tom. Nurse Dorothy is wonderful, too. My child actually enjoyed going there. I feel it was a good reset for my child.

Let me offer a disclaimer we believe that we have the very BEST team of doctors, clinicians, therapists, Nurse Practioners and nursing staff that we could ever ask for or dream of! Thank you to each of you that have assisted, talked with, counseled, encouraged, hugged and cried with us and our son. Thank you seems so shallow in comparison to the amount of comfort you have offered, but it s all we have. I hope that each of you from the clinical side of our treatment team to the administrative side know that we thank God for you!
Sincerely, David & Kalee

We are new to this practice and have had nothing but amazing experiences thus far! Our journey started at a less than alright hospital for several stays and then we landed at PMA's preferred hospital - - this is our second stay here and after 24 hours....I am telling you I am happier than I could have imagined! Our son is little....he is 9....he is NOT equipped for things that he has never been exposed to...we have protected him and knowing that we had "issues" we have kept things at bay - - hoping they would get better. Well, a hard dose of reality has hit. We are now in the hands of this amazing woman and her team. Dr. Mehta and I have not had the priviledge of meeting and I am hoping that this happens soon. She is overseeing our sons hospital stay, his schooling, his therapy, his counseling and I believe that as of right now we have TWO Nurse Practitioners----TWO!!!! Ms. Tubbs and Ms. Carson....I am in tears over the level of care, concern, follow up, follow through and compassion that has been shown to us, as a compete family. They get it. They understand. They hear us and I believe they care! Additional to ALL of this---the lady in the office, Julie....she is a doll! She has empathy and sincerity in her words. For any parent that is looking for a place that direction can come in ALL kinds of ways...this is the place. They have the market cornered for Children in need of Psychiatric Treatment and Therapy. I sincerely thank you Dr. Mehta. You must be a very influential and precious soul because you have impacted our lives through your team members.....Kayla at his school, Brittany at his school, Maria at his school, Julie from your office, NP Tubbs, NP Carson , Dionne, Becca, Lisa from the hospital and so many more. We appreciate you and thank you from the bottom of our hearts! -David & Kalee Owens

We hope and pray that our little guy will return to the center after treatment and that we can continue with this phenomenal team of educators and therapists! Special thanks to Kayla, Brittany, Ana and Maria for always listening and hearing -no matter how BIG or small the concern! You each made a difference as we drove away and headed to the office thank you, sincerely!

I worked as an intern at Excel Center of Lewisville. There are absolutely no other professionals on the planet who work harder for the kids there. I was there for 9 months. The staff is often working until 8:30 at night just to prepare for the next day. The kids were blessed with some of the best therapists and administrators known to mankind. The nurse and support staff would do anything for a kid to experience success. Some kids made life changing turnarounds. That makes it worth it.

Wonderful day program for kids who suffer from men...

Wonderful day program for kids who suffer from mental illness. The staff is kind and truly cares about the kids. They are extremely organized and keep you well informed as well as great about answering any questions. They go as far as doing a blood test to see what medicines work best for the kids. The program typically lasts about 6 weeks.
My child was there over Christmas break, and the center did different things on different days so the kids wouldnt be left out of the break.
