Stayed in the Annex. Think it's called The Court. Bit of a walk to the main house but walking round The Elvetham is always a pleasure so not a problem. My room was as far away as you can get I think but again that is a plus due to stunning views over fields and woods. Even spotted a fox.

A wonderful house from the 1800s worth a visit for many reasons. We were stuck in the rear of the property on the second floor many stairs to climb.
Grounds lovely kept well by the head gardener and team. Food of high standard but limited. What we had was very tasty. History in bucket loads general things for the everyday guest limited. Surrounding area varioys places to visit

Lovely venue for a wedding. We had a fantastic time. Food was excellent and the singing waiters were a revelation. Staff very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The grounds are stunning. Only complaint is no lift. You have to be fit enough to climb numerous stairs to get to your room. This is not a hotel for those in a wheelchair or with mobility issues.

Well let's start with the building! On this nice sunny day at 30c in late July.

It's a wonderful building, The gardens are beautiful and well looked after.

Check in went smooth at 4 pm

The room 187 is in what was the stable block...
The room is small.
The curtains would look great in a retirement home.
The mattress is old and has seen better days.
I have sunk quite deep into it.

Hair dryer does not work.
There is no air con in the building.
The pillows are feather which I'm not a fan of.

The bathroom
It's a shower bath combo.
The shower is electric and the shower head is black with mould.
The bath is clean but the silicone around it is coming away from the wall.

The restaurant well. What a unorganised show

No one to welcome you and take you to a table.
A blonde hair lady comes rushing though and says can you wait 5 minutes...

The waiter and waitresses are stumbling over each other. No one is talking to each other.

The group of 15 people seamed to be taking a lot of there time.
28 people total in the restaurant.

One lady keeps coming in with food and does not know where it goes. I have see her walk out with the food.

They could save so much time if someone was in charge / directing.

I was asked 2 times for ordering food

Time for for drink was good at 5 minutes

Starter with in 10 minutes.

The one gem is the lady with shirt blonde hair with a gray Apple watch. She is holding this restaurant together. And seems to be doing most of the work.
A worthy note to the lady with the orange finger nails was nice and polite, p.s. there is a hole in the back left leg part of your dress. ( God that sounds creepy) but dress code...

First dish was the coconut and carrot soup.
A medium body with a slight hit of spice, it was pleasant.

Turns out the waitress that like talking to the guest
Brought my steak out wile I had only just started my soup... No wonder she looked at me. The thoughts, it's your dish cross her face.

Main was a rump steak
I checked the food steak was cool to the touch
I was told it was a fresh order. The steak was tough but was ok.
Tender stem was perfect.
Chips ok
Pepper corn source good.

Desert
Was nice.

Start to Finnish 19.35 till 20.46

Breakfast is included...
Breakfast was simple nothing to right home about.

Would I stay again
I think so. But I need to book a better room.

This hotel is absolutely beautiful. The grounds are really well maintained. Staff are friendly and accommodating and the rooms in the main building overlooking the garden are very spacious. I stayed in room 211 (see my photos). It was large. Two big LCD TVs, semi-separate bedroom and seating areas. His and hers wash basins and a separate loo.

The rooms are long and airy so, even without air con, I can imagine it still being comfortable during the summer months. The views of the gardens are outstanding too.

I would definitely book here again for business or with my partner/family.

I visited The Elvetham to photograph a couple for their engagement photoshoot. The hotel grounds were lovely with some great spots to photograph in. The interior of the hotel was also very nice with some beautiful rooms.
