It's a bit run down and dated. The building itself you can tell was once very nice and impressive looking but now it just looks shabby and needs a lick of paint. Everything inside as well is all just OK. Reminds me of something visited in the 80s. Just a bid drab. Service wise, not bad wasn't brilliant. The food however was great, I don't have a bad thing to say. We stopped for lunch after visiting the devil's punchbowl and thought it would be cheaper than the national Trust cafe. I'm tempted to give it a go for am evening meal now.

I stopped here last Thursday and forgot my ring on the bath side.... I lefted for work at 7 then came back at 11.30 once I noticed it was missing.... the cleaners had already been in....now it can't be found....I'm waiting for the manger to speak to me about this stolen ring..

It was an excellent accommodation for a very reasonable price. Breakfast was falling and the room was can and we'll presented. Staff were lovely and relaxed in their approach. A really enjoyable visit

The overall feel of this place is weird. It seems to have been lost in time. The rooms were grubby and tired. They're stuck in what is now a cul-de-sac of a road rather than on the busy At and it's obviously gone downhill. However you are sited right at the entrance to the National Trust owned country park and the staff are friendly enough. Spooky and odd sum the place up.

Nice room good value for money.

Nice room good value for money.
Main meals very nice.
Unfortunately the rhubarb and apple crumble was more apple, less rhubarb AND less crumble. Also was over microwaved.

Location excellent. Hotel 3 star. Staff 5 star. Clean comfortable and on outskirts of Farnham at Hindhead. Right across from the Devil's Punchbowl National Trust area of outstanding beauty.

Looking a bit tired in places, this rabbit Warren of a hotel is in need of a little TLC. On the surface there is nothing wrong and for the price it is super value. But don't look too closely as the cracks will start to show.

On balance we had a pleasant stay for just the one night. Nice bar, good selection of drinks and a popular restaurant....we stayed on a Saturday night in early February night and it was busy....always a good sign.

I live my life in and out of hotels and I would recommend this hotel as good value for money. So long as you don't expect the Ritz, you will not be disappointed.

I will definitely stay there again.

Lunch very nice. I had the pie of the day which was packed with steak and thick gravy. Nice quiet relaxing atmosphere too. Cannot comment on "hotel" aspect as I just had lunch and a couple of beers but it was a good start.

Firstly, the one star is for there breakfast which was very nice no complaints there. We had the worst nights sleep due to a lumpy and uncomfortable bed the pillows were flat and lifeless and bed to small in general obviously this is just my opinion others may like the bed in room 205.
Also there was a strange toilet sewage type smell lingering outside our bathroom which was not pleasant. The bathroom itself was clean and nicely laid out.
When you walked down the stairs there's a lovely view of old washing machines and coffee machines. Wallpaper hanging down above stairwell. Rooms were dated and defiantly need updating. It's a real shame as the hotel is surrounded by lovely scenery and great walking trails. As for the bed we would of mentioned it but by the time we realised just how uncomfortable it was it was late at night and we kept waking up going back to sleep then waking up again. I am around 6ft 2 and my feet were hanging of the end of the bed. I expect a nice sumptuous bed when you stay in a hotel it was my birthday and my wife's and we just wanted a nice quiet evening without the kids. One night that's all but it wa
s ruined by the hotels lack of attention to detail.

Finally just to add this is just my opinion and I understand that other people don't feel the same way which is fine. But when they say things like stop moaning etc etc it annoys me as I personally don't slate other people's reviews as it's there opinion. I've stayed in alot of hotels with my job so I have a good idea of what I expect and like. So if you leave a review I would suggest you keep the content about what your reviewing and not about what other people have said. It's there opinion and that's all, you either agree or you don't agree. Cheers
