Had a lovely couple of nights here. Covid 19 precautions are good, felt very safe. Lovely setting with views over the lake and central to the beautiful village of Grasmere with some great walks right on the doorstep. Booked in for dinner on first night, found it strange that they were not doing Eat out to Help Out as the restaurant wasn't very busy but still had a decent atmosphere. All staff here lovely and very friendly, except for one server at breakfast. We had a room without a view as this was all that was left when we booked. We overlooked what I presume are the staff quarters, so not even the main road. Room was lovely though. Decent size and really nice bath. We booked for the hydrotherapy pool but didn't stay long. As nothing else open was easy to relax in room. There was a TV outage throughout Grasmere whilst we were there but TV was re tuned promptly the next morning.

Really enjoyed our stay here. The room was very comfortable and was well set up. We had a beautiful view and stayed in a valley room and still could see the lake. The room was generally very clean however the remote control was filthy and although we had our room cleaned during our stay some things were missed. The spa and pool were great. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Food was nicely presented with good quality meat. The Sides generally lacked flavour and were bland and we were waiting a long time. But that would be the only negative about our dining experience.

This is definitely by no means a 4* Hotel,

Upon check in despite it being 14:30 we were greeted with a grumpy member of staff whose first words to us were check in is at 3 this pretty much set the tone for the hotel, All we wanted to asked is to leave our bags while we went for afternoon tea.

The staff in the restaurant/bar are friendly and what you d expect in any hotel, however the quality of the food is poor to say the least.
I ordered the steak with peppercorn sauce, steak was over cooked and the peppercorn sauce was basically water, even though I had asked for it to be changed it arrived back the same.

The bedrooms appear fairly modern however the beds are basically two singles shoved together where you can feel the gap between the two.

Fair to say that the best thing about this hotel is the location.

Really lovely hotel, rooms are spacious & airy, the location is perfect. Well equipped spa.

The staff were extremely helpful (the concierge in particularly was lovely...so knowledgeable about the local area and eager to help).
Such a comfortable, homely place to stay.

This hotel is one of the best hotels I have stayed in. On arrival I almost missed the turn in for the hotel car park as the signs are quite low down and with traffic approaching are easy to miss. Check in was very straight forward and receiving a voucher for a complimentary Prosecco and Muffin was a welcome surprise. We bumped into Mark the concierge at the hotel who was very friendly and recommended some walking routes. Our room was huge, lovely big and comfy bed with a huge bathroom. The hotel is only a short walk to Grasmere and bus stops are near if you wanted to go further afield. The evening meal maintained the hotels standards with great service and food. Breakfast was a buffet with a range of hot and continental food. Throughout the stay COVID precautions were maintained to a high standard throughout

Staff were so very accommodating and polite when we had to call in due to road closures getting to our final destination. Nothing was too much trouble and they offered help and advice in finding an alternative route. Although we didn't stay the night, we did have dinner which was scrumptious! They also remembered us from a stay there last year.

Myself and husband have just returned from our wedding anniversary stay here at Daffodil. This was our 3rd time visiting and again we couldn't be more thrilled with the amazing food/cocktails, super friendly staff, cleanliness of the hotel and room(the view from our room was fantastic looking over the valley) and the lovely surprise anniversary treats after dinner. Thank you once again everyone at Daffodil, we will be returning again soon :)
