Did you know that there are lists on the internet ...

Did you know that there are lists on the internet of the best mac and cheese places.......and, somehow, D Bar, is NOT listed on all of them?! This, my friend, is a travesty because it was literally one of the BEST dishes I've ever had.

D Bar is kind of a mixture of swanky meets comfort food. We could've dressed up but we didn't. After really struggling to find a parking place (I'll bet we drove around the block four times, I kid you not), we were seated right away.....without a reservation on a Friday night. That was surprising.

We sat outside and it's a darling little neighborhood for people watching. You are practically ON the sidewalk so lots of dogs were sniffing our ankles as their owners walked by with them. Still, it made the meal even more charming.

Like I said, you MUST order the bacon mac and cheese. Y'all.....the crust is made out of CHEEZ-ITS! I was with my husband for this meal but I'm thinking it would be a good place to go after a break up, too, based solely on how much better the food makes you feel.

For dessert, I had the creme brulee, which for $9 was the tiniest serving of creme brulee I've ever seen. Raspberries on top and served on a dish about the size of a toothpaste tube. Tiny. But it was good and for that price, I savored every bite.

Service was hit and miss. Very sweet waitress....WHEN she was around. Because we were outside, we didn't get a lot of attention from the staff. However, that maybe beats those servers who ask you every other bite how things are. That's annoying, too. So I'll cut this staff some slack.

It was a lovely dinner and I highly recommend it.

2 hour free parking in downtown in a covered parking garage behind the restaurant. Great perk to start off with. Parking is super limited though.

The place has a casual but upscale enough vibe. The staff is great. The happy hour menu items are really great as well. Desserts are not too sweet and the curs fries and slider that we tried were very well put together as well. A must try place for sure.

We just had the est breakfast dish with short ribs that were like butter and sooo good. The dessert was fabulous. I especially loved sitting at the counter and got to watch the artistry of the dessert chefs.
Cant wait to try the dinner menu.

They truly know what you want for Dessert. They have amazing selection from a slice of funfetti cake, creme brulee or macaroons. An amazing selection of cocktails and a staff that will help you decide what you want. Be sure to make a reservation if you are in a hurry but definitely a must try.

I hesitate to give this place 3 stars. All around it was bad service. Came to Denver on vacation from out of state and did a lot of research before settling on here for a birthday dinner and dessert with my boyfriend. We went shortly after 6 on a Sunday night and the service (from the hostess to our waitress) was all pretty poor. Everyone was in such a rush that their was no hospitalality at all. We had to ask the manager who our server was after sitting there without being taken care of for a good 10+ minutes. At the end of the meal they did give us a free box of macaroons and 20% off of our ticket. After everything I ve seen of this restaurant from Pinterest and the internet, it was a slight let down because the service was so poor. While the food is good, it s not good enough to make up for the bad service. Loud environment. Hit or miss really.

First time here. Celebrated a birthday dinner and desert. Had a table of 18 and ordered the southern fried Belgian sandwich and the molten cake thingy that everyone has (yes, that is the name of it) for desert. They have an extensive menu for both. I noticed a ton of young folks there celebrating all kinds of occasions. The chairs are very soft...you kind of sink in. The room is very loud because it's full of people having a nice time eating and chatting. The food was excellent! BEWARE: Parking is a pain!

Creative spin on traditional menu items. The real treat of this place are the treats. Staff has always been accommodating. Seating ranges from outdoors, to the bar, to regular two/four top. I have been several times now, hope to go back.

The food was great we had the fried chicken and waffle; however service could be waaaay better! We Reserved a booth but we got there and weren t seated for about 20 minutes and still didn t get a nice seating area. Once seated, it was a while before anyone came to ask about drinks... skip the end of the night we went to get desserts from the little pastry side and the girl helping us was absolutely terrible. Midway through starting our order she asked someone beside us well are you ready to order? RUDE . She took many sighs and her overall attitude was poor. Maybe she had a long day I don t know but customers shouldn t be able to easily read that

The food is unique and portioned so that it works for either a snack or family style meal. Motif is modern contemporary but through great service and hordes of devout regulars- it still feels inviting. Milk shakes and butterscotch custard are fantastic.

D Bar is truly a gem. Not gonna lie, my love for Food Network shows is what originally brought me here many moons ago. They never disappoint when it comes to the food and the service you receive matches. Even when dining during Restaurant Week, everything was on point. When someone asks me what my favorite restaurant in Denver is............and seriously, how does one choose any more?...............D Bar is always one I mention.

Went for my nieces birthday i ordered the chicken and waffles. It was burned so badly I could barely eat it. I didn't want to send it back because I didn't want to embarrass my niece on her birthday. I don't know what was happening in the kitchen but that was so disappointing.

The brunch was phenomenal, and the service was good. I only had one gripe. First, I ordered the Alsace Bostock. It sounded like it was going to be fancy French toast, but it is literally one TINY slice of bread with some stuff on it. Delicious, but you're going home hungry and $11 lighter. Everyone else ordered the waffle sandwiches of various types. They were all filling and exceptional. The brunch cocktails were also awesome. I give it four stars only because we were all super annoyed that you have to pay $6+ for a regular cup of coffee.

The delicious desserts can't make up for the absolutely atrocious customer service. Never before have I been told I will be charged a fee if I cancel a reservation, then have to wait 45 minutes past our reservation time before being seated, and finally be told that they gave another group of people free drinks so we could have their table and yet my group was offered absolutely nothing for having to wait until 10pm to be seated.

I highly recommend sugar mill instead

If you have a sweet tooth then this place is calling your name. If you're bold enough stop by solely for a milk shake or oozing chocolate molten cake at their old school diner bar. If you're really hungry than their dinner plates are equally delicious. Decently priced but on the more expensive side of average meal costs in Denver. Service is impeccable.

This is a really fun place to grab a dessert and sit outside. They have a great front patio that is along 17th Street. The inside is pretty small, but if there's a wait it's usually not too bad. I've never eaten the food hear, but heard it's great and the desserts are amazing. They have a fun variety and some of them change from time to time. Great place to catch up with friends or to grab dessert after a date night dinner.

Have heard great things about the food at this place. Unfortunately the service was terrible. We came here for our sons birthday and when we walked in, the hostess was standing behind the bar talking to the bartender. She made clear eye contact with us and then walked into the kitchen. When she finally came over to seat us there was no apology or anything. Once we sat at our table, we waited for over 10 mins and no one even came over to greet us or give us water much less take an order. We got up and left and went to the Mexican restaurant across the street. Sorry but if your service is this subpar you don t deserve my business.

My husband and I are not too big on rating anything above 4 stars, but this place definitely deserves it. It was our belated anniversary, and eventhough we did not tell the waitress, she treated us like we did. Her suggestions were on point, and the desserts were amazing. Drinks were crafted very well, and the entrees were portioned perfectly.

One of our favorite spots! Desserts are really the specialty, but the savory dishes are also incredible! Grab some mini churros, a French press of coffee, and finish it off with an amaretto chocolate malt milkshake! This is my favorite combo.

Sadly D Bar is on the way down. What was on a hand full of spectacular deserts, is now a full menu of medctity. Even the service was slow.

Our drinks took forever, the butter cream frosting on my American Dream beater was grainy, so was the ice cream. It tasted like cost cuts vs. the wonderful splurge it used to be.

This place is amazing! It's modern, hip, with romantic and private corners, as well as open area where you can watch the masterpieces being made. Sandy, behind the desert bar, is a pro and part of the experience is watching her put her heart into each piece of desert she makes. I personally recommend the lava cake.

I want to like this place. I ve just had too many experiences with sub par food and not-worth-it desserts, though. A restaurant that is trying to make its desserts a main focus should at least try to master them. It s always such measly options. A few cupcakes, some icy ice cream. They have few options and they really just aren t that good. I did once have a great meal here- a burger and fries which was delicious, but the next couple times I got a burger it was dry and had some weird things mixed into the meat. I wish D Bar was consistent with their food and always had a bountiful array of good desserts.

We've been coming here for years and have always loved the food, but since the location change the staff has gotten less warm and caring towards customers, concerned instead with quick turnover. The bussers, however, are always attentive, kind, and helpful, certainly more so than the wait staff. Still, we come here every season to see the new menu and indulge in some sweet treats, and it's always a positive experience over all.

I decided to go to D-bar after dinner.. It was the worst experience i ever had there. I been there before but never had i had such a bad experience..I was told that i had to wait 1 hour to get seated and i told them that I would wait. I thought it was awkward because there were a lot of tables open..After waiting about 10 min there was a couple that came into the restaurant a little after us. I noticed that they got seated before us without wait. Seeing what had happened. I asked the receptionist why they got seated before us and all i got was attitude and some kind of excuse. Eventually they tried to seat us and with some animosity coming from the receptionist. It felt awkward to be there. After feeling like there was a issue with with the receptionist i asked to speak with the manager in which she replied no! Normally i woulnt say that a place felt like it discriminated against me being Asian but today i felt discriminated against. I was in shock at this moment. Almost speachless. After a little while longer a manager came out to talk with us. I tried to explain our dissatisfaction with the receptionist and to my suprise i was told that everything was my fault and i didnt get seated earlier because something i did. Eventually the manager said i was too demanding. After getting nowhere with this guy i just decided to leave. If i had a choice this place wouldnt even get a single star from me.. #worst experience ever@D-bar. Maybe i will try again when the manager gets replaced..

Really lovely ambiance, elegant feel but not too formal, either. Love this place for special occasions, and it s not as expensive as a lot of other nice restaurants, especially in the area. The reason I m giving it four stars instead of five is literally just because the menu has a lot of complex dishes, rather than a majority of crowd pleasers. Picky eaters MAY avert, but I would recommend anyways. I personally enjoy it every time, as I m an avid eater!! Love

Delicious dinner and dessert! Made a reservation for 2 using OpenTable; put on the special request that it was our anniversary so a special dessert would be nice. They brought out both of our dessert plates with sparklers and wrote Happy Anniversary on the plate. Made our night very special, thank you!

I had a lovely Mother's Day brunch here with my family! We started with dessert appetizers of cheesecake filled beignets + churros - blew my mind. I usually don't like things too sweet, but it was perfect. I had the avocado salad with a die lobster tail which was fabulous. My husband and kids had waffles - each with different toppings. The whipped peanut butter on the chicken and waffles was outstanding. They even sent me home with 2 truffles for Mother's Day - we will definitely be coming back!

Dessert was fantastic but the waiter was very poor, focused on socializing with friends and bussing tables resulting in a different waiter actually bringing out our desserts. 25min wait for cake and shake and the fountain coke took 15min alone.
