Service was good and the food came out very fast. Only negative, Paid $15 for a pizza that was small and below average taste/flavour. very bland. Definetly wouldn't order the pizza again. Wouldn't be so disapointed if it wasn't so expensive for what it was. Other than that it was a pleasant evening.
Our steaks were cooked to perfection, the beers was cold and we got service with a smile! You can t beat that!
Lovely friendly place. They have a new head chef and the food has improved out of sight. Staff are so friendly. We will definitely be back
Attended the pub for dinner with my family last night. Food was amazing, was great to see a new chef taking pride in the meals. Service was great as always. Will be back and will be recommending to friends and family.
Decided to eat here before a show... REGRET is the only word I can t use to describe it. Our meals took forever to arrive..only for 2 meals (pie and mash) to be served up stone cold.. and one didn t even have the mash! We asked for the meals to be replaced only for our original meals to be returned STILL COLD and missing items. The waitress acted like we were making it up and begrudgingly took the plates back for a second time. Eventually the correct meals were served and hot. But flavourless. Would not recommend.
Thought I'd treat myself to well done steak 2nite. Burnt on the outside, blood inside. The mash looked like paint cellent so I didn't bother trying it.
Food unfortunately is below average but will definitely come back for the kids entertainment. Pirate Adam had them running around for 2 hours! Happily eat sub standard food for the enjoyment of my kids and kids energy dispelled. Also staff are genuinely lovely.
Lovely staff,..good atmosphere. To enjoy dinner with the family, or venture into the pokies pits! Lol
A good play room for kids .beer range good meals only fair. Pockets.
Service and food excellent. Good value for Christmas day lunch.
I've been here a few times but just once since February 2020. Still a great place to dine out and reasonable prices. Staff have always been good, friendly with excellent customer service and feel like they actually enjoy their work. Food has always been good and filling. Despite Vic Gov actions on covid19, the management have done very well to keep this business in operation I haven't seen live music here myself but have been told its a great venue for that as well (recent and historically). Overall: Recommended :)
Service was good with friendly staff and the venue was well set out but the meal was dismal. I ordered the seafood paella. When it arrived, it was a small amount with two practically empty mussels and a small amount of seafood.
Awesome playground area but..... went there for food and the kitchen wasn't open between 3 and 5. Seems hard to believe in this day and age. Might come back in the future to see what the food is like.
Food is excellent, staff are great and friendly, great kids area. I highly recommend
Lovely day had by all.friendly staff, good portions of food and delicious.great place for families and a good play area for children.R.
Hot day just desperate a beer wouldn't go otherwise.
Quality is amazing if you are looking for a quick, reasonably cheap and good meal this the place I would suggest going to. It's also good for the kids.
Staff were so friendly and welcoming and the food was great too.
Stick to the Parma and steaks you wont go wrong. The staff here always go above and beyond. Food served quickly
They obviously don't clean their beer lines. Bought a James Squire ale and it first tasted like Furphy, then tasted very flat, and then just tasted straight up stale and dirty. At $5.90 for a pot of the dirtiest tasting beer I've had in years, I do not recommend in the slightest. Could not finish. Even the coke is the flattest coke I've had straight from a tap.
The quality of the food is going down, not sure what changed, it was one of my favourite places. Booked a table for 17 people, got there and there was a table for only 7. I ordered a steak medium done, and I get a rubber over cooked steak with a burnt taste and so much garlic, I could still taste it the next day. My wife got salt and pepper calemari which hard to stuff up, but again it tasted so oily and the sauce was too strong.
Friendly service and a large bistro area with various seating options. There is also a play area for the kids. My wagyu burger was lean and juicy and the chips were awesome but the whole serve came across too salty. My partner ordered spinach gnocchi. They were light and fluffy and the sauce was tasty. However menu stated cherry tomatoes when all that was served was one lonely tomato cut in half. Also did not seem to have been roasted or otherwise cooked. Pots of regular beer more expensive than other venues visited.
The Croxton Park Hotel would have to be the most value for your money. It's so relaxed, comfortable, very, very family friendly, my kids ( 10 and 9 years old ) they still get a kick out of the play area. Let me continue, I haven't finished yet, it's never noisy, plenty of room to really stretch yourself out. The staff are very friendly too and the food is great. I especially love coming here on a lazy Sunday afternoon with family and friends for a catch-up, park my derriere on one of their comfy chairs next to one of my favorite relos I haven't seen for a while, having everything done for me while chatting and eating the afternoon away. Thank you guys, don't forget to save a seat for me because I'll see you very soon.
Great night out. Food was excellent. Staff were very friendly. Great for families. Will definitely go back next time we are in Melbourne
kid friendly and apparently good for 98 yr olds also
It's great for an "average" place if you know what I mean. My son loves the play area, although the play area is very close to the entrance and that is a bit of a security concern. The food is always fab!
Good pub to take the kids to. Was able to have a good meal with friends and the kids were entertained in the playroom.
Popped in to see if the footy was screening on the weekend, sadly it wasn't. Site however has a kid friendly family bistro and play area as well as an over 28s bar with live acts.
food was ordinary and the the staff seemed preoccupied with personal issues .
Just attended the bistro. Foood is good, setting is modern neat and clean. Kids play area is great and on Sat night they had a pirste entertainer.
Fri and Sat night great for young kids but food was all barely acceptable
The Steak! 4 of us had the Porterhouse, they were all cooked to perfection. Delicious. Lovely friendly Staff too.
Great band venue. A bit like a bigger, better Corner. Good sound, no poles. Appalling selection of beer at the bar though, especially for the inner North.
$12 parma. Very good value. Ordering was slow, but meal arrived pronto.
Reasonable pub prices, no complaints about the steaks and parmas, they were great. However, my partner and her sister ordered ravioli and it wasn't good. Pasta was like cardboard, almost raw, yet the filling was cooked - so stick to the pub grub and you'll be fine. Had no problem with the service, they were great and friendly. The furnishings are overdue for an update.
Pleasantly surprised about this place, I took my mum and my family here for Mother s Day and the food was exceptional, the staff were very friendly and Venue was perfect for families, great job guys!!!
Great service, friendly staff, excellent food, kids have thier on play area, clean and tidy hotel.highly reccomend.
Standard pub fare at good prices if you go the specials. Parma night is good value.
Amazing food at half the price staff are really frendly the drink are at a reasonable price and if you have a Croxton park card even cheeper for food and drink and if you have a shopper docket even better value
Nice bar,we went on a Thursday night to see a band, wasn't expecting much really, but we had the steak special and it was a top notch aged rump, cooked rare as ordered! Beer was cold and clean, all in all,a good venue
Nice and quiet place for a Parma and a nice pint of beer...
I have attended numerous gigs in the band room. It has two bars, which makes it easier to get a drink than most other venues. I normally get there just before the act is due on stage. The rest of the venue is your typical pokies joint.
The food is cooked just how i wanted. The staff who served us is very friendly. Will definitely come back again and try the other menus.
Amongst the hundreds of parma's I've eaten across the country this was easily the worst. Waited 45 minutes for a microwaved slab of chicken with basic tomato sauce and a slice of ham that probably witnessed the moon landing. Even the chips were harder than my Catholic high school priest.
Sweet as Bro. Seen some choice bands here. Ross the boss, Dragonland, Queensryche. Rock on.
Room for improvement. Mucked up my order. Food is average.
Excellent band venue! Well laid out and reasonable drink prices for Melbourne. Its great to see that some places like this still exist. I'll be looking forward to the next gig i see there.
The sound was excellent, good cold beer, very organised.
Grossly understaffed for a Saturday night, long wait times. Not recommended.
Smelly,, tired, poor and expensive food. Don't bother!!!!!!
Stuff the pokie side of this place. The two band rooms are pretty good for a drink and to rock the hell out.
We organised a school event at the Croxton Park bistro for approx. 60 people at very short notice. The staff could not have been more accommodating in both organising the event and making sure it was a success. The venue was set up perfectly, plenty of space for all and great for kids with the playground. The staff at front of house and in the kitchen did a terrific job in getting a lot of kids fed quickly. Adults were really well looked after with great, quick bar service and a tasty pub feed. A very sincere thanks to the team at the Croxton Park Hotel. Stu and Robyn Donald (and St Mary s School Preps)
It's a great pub been going there for years good pub for everyone
A reasonable standard. Convenient having the play area but they need to do more to make it safer and can add some simple equipment to make it more interesting and worthwhile for toddlers.
MANAGERS you need to be retrained in training your Staff..after today's confrontation we will not be setting foot in your Pokies Venue ever again after 10yrs of attending your gaming room.. Try getting pointers from The OLYMPIC HOTEL STAFF AND MANAGERS ..they know how to acknowledge customers....we who Feed your Machines with our $$$$$$$$ deserve more respect than your Venue gives us....No bums on your seats no dollars in your Machines
