I give this restaurant a 10/10 if I could. This is by far my favorite restaurant that I have tried during my stay in Virginia. The downtown area give a nice historic feel with the cobblestone road. There is plenty of parking and the restaurant is huge.

I had the catfish dinner with the potatoes & collard greens & (chefs kiss ) it was delicious! The portions are huge but I ate every bite. I also had the Buffalo sauce to dip my fish in which was so yummy!

To drink I had the wah lah & that is one hell of a drink

Crunchy rice, sat someone else at our table, and then tried to gaslight me about how much my meal actually cost v. how much they comped me for serving my child crunchy rice. The manager tried to convince me that my bill was $100 and she took $20 off. However, I did the math and my bill already came to $80. Why make stuff up? The waitress and hostesses tried their best to fix the situation. To whoever owns this establishment, you need better business practices. I believe in supporting our businesses, but I will never come here again. You've been warned.

Food was well done and filling. Was a bit pricey but well worth at least a one time dinning experience. The staff was welcoming and professional. The atmosphere was business casual and I felt a bit out of place in my jeans and t shirt while the rest looked like they were attending a Sunday Baptist service. Still a very enjoyable experience.

This place was sooo good and the food was plentiful! I don't eat onions, but their onions cooked in the special sauce and herbs was fantastic! The lemon chess pie was very good! Plus I was in good company!!

Croaker's spot was a good experience. The building is a gorgeous dome with a very high ceiling. They even have a balcony to seat more. The bar is in the center of the building and accessible from any point. Very cool place.

Service was friendly and attentive.

This place has fantastic sides. The cornbread here is hands down the best cornbread I've ever had. The cabbage, mashed potatoes, were very tasty, and the grits were good. The best entree on the table was the Shrimp and Scallops dish. The Scallops and sauce were fantastic.

Unfortunately that's where the praise ends. The rice in this dish was hard. The shrimp seemed stiff as if they were boiled in the sauce rather than seared. The Fish and Oysters, which were fried, were overcooked and far too crunchy. The flavor was ok. Disappointing that a place that "specializes" in fried seafood would be its weakest element. I would also expect a little more for the prices on the menu.

Overall the experience was good, we finished our plated and left full, just a little underwhelmed.

Overall good food. Ordered two sandwiches the Oyster Po Boy and the Shrimp Po Boy. The fried oyster was a tad bit salty but it could be just me because I try not to use too much salt in my food. The restaurant was seven minutes off the highway and service was friendly.
I wanted to try some soul food in North Carolina, glad I stopped.

The hostess was very welcoming and accommodating, and seated us immediately. She must have been new as I d never seen her there before. Our waitress Amaya was outstanding, food got to our table very quickly. Not sure who the cook is, but they deserve a raise. Got the fish boat and my wife got the stuffed salmon. All of it was amazing! I love this place. We will definitely return and tell all of our loved ones to try it when they re in town.

This place is fabulous. Got famous fish boat and it was amazing as were the sides and the most amazing cornbread. My daughter hated cornbread til she tried this.

Salads were generous and famous secret Louis dressing has a great little kick.

Server Zach was amazing and we loved that he was empowered to solve (a small) issue on his own quickly and over and above.

Great building. Cool old farmers market with gorgeous features and outdoor dining

My family came here to celebrate my wife's birthday. Our first time at the new location since they moved. Mia took great care of us throughout our visit. The food was delicious. The atmosphere was fun. We couldn't be more happy. Thank you, Mia, and thanks to the chefs for making our celebration a fun evening!
