The table we were seated at had no opening windows
We were bothered by flies and wasps constantly
The roast meals were very poor
My granddaughter had fish fingers
The fish was off and smelt and tasted bad
Overall our experience was awful

Lovely country pub, individual cosy rooms with a welcoming atmosphere.Good food.Only criticism is the service,we were sitting at the back on the left as you enter and up a step.
No one came to ask us would we like a drink or take an order so we had to go and ask at the bar.
This happened last time I was there with friends we didnt get served and waited forever for our food.
Unfortunately it has put my friends off completely.
Still a place I enjoy, improve the service and it will be even better.

Well I'm not sure why i haven't given a review before. Been coming to this place for sometime. I find it very comforting especially with the new decor. I come with my kids and our dog and love it. The food is great, you can definitely trust every dish. The staff and I mean all of them are so valuable and professional. Nothing is a problem with them. They have the professionalism of dealing with the public. I'm into catering business and simply could not recommend this place enough. Thanks guys for being fantastic hosts.

Lovely country pub with friendly staff and beautiful surroundings in the heart of Sarratt. Perfect for drinks on sunny days sitting outside enjoying the picturesque country village view. Can be very busy on Sundays. Would highly recommend for anyone wanting to discover village pubs around Hertfordshire

If you are looking for a bankable little regular to go for a meal-look no further. The food is on point, a wide enough selection to satisfy people of fussy tastes, but narrow enough to ensure every dish is executed well. This is also a really great place for drinks if you like wine or Gin (I don't drink beer but if their selection is as good as the former mentioned you will be pleased). A winner every time!

Good food but disappointed that dogs are allowed. One of our party tripped over a dog on a lead but left sleeping in the thoroughfare past the bar. Owners need to take responsibility for their animals, it could have caused a serious accident especially if an elderly person had been injured.

Nice food and nice atmosphere, but a little pricey. The service is not great either. We had a booking and my wife had to go to the bar to ask for a waiter after being seated for almost 20 minutes.

Went on a Sunday evening. Most things on the menu were off. Slow and chaotic service. Food was overcooked as if it had been cooked earlier and reheated. I know it's only a pub but if you are charging restaurant prices you expect restaurant standards.

I've waited 58 years (since I was 15) to enjoy visiting this delightful Public House and it was worth the wait.

We ate a late lunch and were please that the waitress said they serve food all day. The meal was excellent and served by happy waitresses which added to our pleasure.

I would definately visit again when I next travel from my home in Wales.

We've been living in the area for close to 6 years and this is our go-to pub. We have 2 kids (4 And 2) and they love the garden in the back and playing on the tractor. Service is great too and the pub is accommodating to kids (though not overrun with them). The only fault we have is that the starters have always come out lightening fast, but we always wait an excessive amount of time for the mains. But would 100% recommend the Cricketers - quality spot.

This is a nice local pub, quite old fashioned but in a charming way. The staff are reasonably friendly and there s plenty of seating in various nooks around the place. Fireplaces make it very cosy and welcoming on a cold day.
We popped in shortly before noon and found a spot to sit near the main bar. We had coffee and then decided to stay for lunch; a soup for myself and fish and chips for my partner. The food was typical pub grub, nothing fancy but it was okay and reasonably priced.
There are pamphlets in the bar indicating a circular walk through the neighbouring countryside and farms, which we ended up doing. We are keen walkers and pubs like this always make good pit stops. We are likely to pop in here again as we frequently ramble around this part of the Chilterns.

I liked at the friendly atmosphere and that dogs are very welcome here. My friend had the roast beef which they were pleased with. I had the wild tortellini and was extremely disappointed when it arrived. It was four pieces of pasta in a More

It s not often I post a restaurant review but after our meal at the Cricketers, it deserved one. Our meal was absolutely wonderful. We both had starters, pigeon and scallops and we couldn t fault them. For mains we chose the pork wellington and hake, again the portions were generous but more importantly they were cooked to perfection. Staff we re friendly and courteous. We will definitely be returning to this little gem.

Nice, cosy country pub. A wide selection of good beer on tap. The menu is a good mix of traditional dishes, all well made from quality ingredients. Friendly, attentive service to top it off.

Disappointed, looks a really lovely place to visit, however on the day we visited it seemed quite poorly managed. Very young staff who didn't really know what they were doing, no real attention to detail.
Hopefully would revisit and see some changes

Great selection of mains and we were really happy with our steak sandwich and chicken and ham pie. Good service and pleased that we weren't seated too close to other diners. Only one disappointment - waffle for dessert was really stodgy and doughy - shame because everything else was great.
