We recently had a baby shower function in their dining room in the back. The great the service from the wait staff was second to none, and the head chef was very helpful and informative on what we should order for the group. The food was delicious also. Highly recommend coming here to eat or for a group of 15 you could hire the private function room. Great location and also parking around the back of the restaurant.
What can I say this place is a New Farm icon! The food is always spot on and the venue has an intimate feel. Love this restaurant!
Saw your coverage on news and loved the spirit of putting paired manikins on the tables. Hang in there and we all will be back to our favourite cafe as soon as the restrictions are lifted. Good luck.
Went there for breakfast. I had pancake Foods was different! I would go there for a dinner rather than break fast. Lovely staff and good service
On a recent trip late afternoon, we were told that our voices were too loud. Food quality good , pity about the attitude of owner/manager. The cafe was only around a quarter full. Don't worry we won't be returning any time soon.

Absolutely love the menu.. classic dishes not served in many other restaurants. Great service, wonderfully cooked meals and homely atmosphere. Busy on a Thursday night shows regular clientele who enjoy a drink with dinner. A most worthy addition to your culinary repotaire!
The Apple tarte tatin is absolutely to die for. I've had it 4 times nowand it never fails to impress. Coq au vin was also just beautiful! I'll keep going back for more French classics and to be waited on by French staff that are consummate professionals with big smiles

Great lunch experience with friends Excellent food and great range of wine and beer Two of us ladies had a french white wine by the glass which was lovely as well as a bubbly Both very good Service was spot on (Great ) Desserts WOW Coffee great I had lime chicken on a bed of risotto with greens Our friend had Lamb Fry with bacon which he loved and my husband had a sort of BLT huge that he really enjoyed Meals were large and all excellent A really nice place to eat and it always has been and maybe better now Owners very nice and friendly We will be back soon
Staff are very friendly and the chef is awesome. They go out of their way to make it a pleasant experience and dining, very organised for a large group.

Really outstanding meal. The cuttlefish was out of this world. Lovely ambience. We ate in their side room, which could use a bit of sound dampening interventions, but a great time nonetheless.
Visited on Friday night 4th August. Wow, service was amazing, food was amazing, atmosphere was amazing! Although small, this place feels larger than it is, did I say the food was AMAZING... Had liver for the time and I'm a pretty picky basic eater. Will definitely be back again

Food nice ( I had 3 sausages on potato mash, gravy and steamed vegetables). - very nice but a bit expensive. I sat outside and this couple walked past me, the lady staring and both her and the guy were giggling about me behind my back ( this is an eg. of the forum going on behind my back in public - that the Dr Wendell Rosvear is / has been causing me), I didn t know them from a bar of soap. I looked back at them ( to see if they were looking back at me - sure enough they were). I was nearly going to say something to them, but the Lady Manageress ( must have seen me outside, looking at them) - she asked me if I was alright, do you want to come inside and eat? I said yes I do. She knew about the forum and something was going on ( she should ve told me what was going on). That s why she offered me to go inside!!!! I felt very uncomfortable with what went on. They must have been tracking me on my phone all night again. The people and staff are able to report back on me, to this forum- Dr Wendell Rosvear is causing. The lady Manager must have told them ( the other lady staff member s ) what was going on about me - the sexual harassment by members of the public, towards me. One of the lady waitresses was wiping down a table, then she looked around at me, to see if I was looking at her arse. Bit sick and uncalled for!!!! Ladies must I remind you, I m gay, leave me alone ok!!!! Then on finishing my meal the other lady waitress was staring at me too, as I was about to pay and leave. Uncalled for and not necessary!!!! I ignored her.
Ok so apparently this place has been here forever, but after living in Brisbane for over 10 years I tried it for the first time last week and the food was delicious. If this isn't one of your regular spots, then definitely check it out.

Simply fantastic food, this is one of Brisbane s best kept secrets. The restaurant has a nice intimate setting, the service is great and the food is very flavoursome. My husband reminds me everytime we dine here that the menu has not changed in years. That s saying something!
If you want to step up a level from the regular standard of food this is the place to go. Cooked by a chef rather than a line cook ingredients are fresh and the taste is divine.

Constantly spectacular. There is no better place in Brisbane for a intimate, comfortable and warm atmosphere. Great for intimate bits but also festive and joyful for big gatherings. The menu delights and there isn t a bad dish. The desserts are the most incredible on a list of already spectacular features. I often come for dessert alone. You won t regret a visit to the Continental Cafe.

Food was excellent. We ordered the black pudding scotch egg, seafood risotto and steak medalion and the flavours were amazing. We found the mains portions were relatively generous. Place itself isnt the most trendy or hipster but the food easily makes up for it. Went on a Tuesday for lunch so it was quiet but the service was excellent. The lady serving us made us feel very welcome and we enjoyed having a chat with her. Have heard its much more lively in the evenings. Highly recommended.

Have been dining here for more than 20 years and the food and service are always great. Last night we had one of the best meals ever. We ordered the daily fish special - pan seared trevally with a very tasty potato gallet with bacon, lots of crunchy green beans and a spectacular beure blanc sauce - and it was just perfect! We made room for a stunning chocolate pudding to finish off a wonderful meal. Can't wait for our next visit!

This place has some of the best food I have tasted.For our entres we had Scallop and ginger dumplings and warm bruschetta of seasonal tomatoes . For our mains we had pan seared lambs fry and pink ling fish . For our desserts we had apple tarte tatin,sticky date pudding and creme brulee. Everything was absolutely amazing and very very tasty. We also had a fantastic bottle of red wine and a Venezuelan rum which was sensational.
