Such a let down. Small, overpriced, and underseasoned. If you want a real cornish pasty, take a drive to Torpoint and buy a CornishPod pasty. Simply the best! I have no affiliation with Pod Pasties.

Visiting chough bakery has been the sole reason for cycling the camel trail whenever we visit Cornwall. Today was no exception. 2 large traditional pasties but they were extremely disappointing. The seasoning was poor making them bland More

Heavens above. Absolutely stunning Cornish pasty. Steak with blue cheese, I believe. Despite the fact that my visit was early this year, I'm still dreaming of that Cornish pasty and am planning to return to have, hopefully the same experience. Tried a "Cornish pasty" upon my return to London and threw it away in disgust. I have vowed not to eat even a single pasty, unless I get it from here. Give it a try, hopefully you won't be disappointed.

Most expensive potato filled Cornish pasty I ve ever bought.
3 pieces of mystery meat and that s it. No flavour at all. Pastry wasn t that bad but why no other filling ? Nowhere near as good as it was in 2012.

Bough two small cornish pasties from here both which had been frozen and reheated poorly. Could feel the base was cold and as I got half way through I found some of the potato was actually still frozen. Went back to complain and was offered another small pasty and "if I'd like it to be reheated". Very surprised they are serving frozen pasties and not all fresh. Ended up with 2 replacement medium pasties which were from a fresh batch. Turned out to be ok

Hi, I saw your bakery on the Wobi TV channel. Do you know that in Hidalgo, Mexico, the English in the 19th century left us the dessert recipe and that today they eat these delicious empanadas? Greetings from Mexico!

Inedible. Undercooked pastry on both the sausage roll and pasty we bought. The meat in the sausage was greasy and undercooked. We stopped our son from eating it as we feared it would make a reappearance. The lamb and mint pasty contained barely any meat, what there was was grey and the rest was just onion. Won't be bothering with this supposedly award winning bakery again.

Oh my goodness! This place just keeps getting better! Over the last few years of being veggie and now a change back to eating meat, was delighted to scoff sorry taste a traditional pasty. It was 'ansome!
Been coming here nearly 20year, think that's says it all.

Recently visited Cornwall for a week and just had to go to this bakery (3 times...) as I grew up in Padstow. I was pleased to find the standard hasn't changed. The large traditional pasties I enjoyed were perfect for me. So glad to see this bakery still going strong.

Ha breakfast in the hotel and had to hit the road. There was no way I was going to eat a pasty, and wasn't going to go to Padstow without eating one, so we got one for the road. I have just nailed it at home, cold, after a 4 hour non-stop drive, and it was like eating pure joy. I have a tear in my eye as even cold, it was superb. I now have to live with the fact that it will be 11 and a bit months before I can have another. Got a stuffed pastie as well which is ace.

If you like your bread fresh and very tasty, this is the place to be queuing outside at nine o'clock in the morning. Ideally located, as it overlooks the harbour. Also worth another visit towards the end of the day, for anything being sold off cheaply.

Lovely pasties but rude staff!

Lovely pasties but rude staff!

We went July 16th as were doing a tour of Cornwall and visited padstow at lunch. It was clear the place was popular as there were a lot of people but my word, miserable surley staff. There was an older lady that worked there snapped at my friend because she didn't see that she was serving and was standing at wrong side of queue, then when her pasty turned out to be cold she went back and spoke a man behind counter whose response to that was "yeah?"

I get they just be used to lots of tourists, but we aren't rude people, if I am paying to buy something in your shop I expect good service. The pasties were good but in all honesty Cornwall is full of them, Id go elsewhere next time.

Visited this bakery and queued for a considerable time because of their large sign outside offering gluten free pasties, breads and confectionery along side advertising their home made pasties. Got to the front of the queue to be told that the gluten free pasties were frozen. Not always an issue if they then bake them to order but the pasties weren't even their own make and they would defrost and warm one for me in the microwave if I waited! As for the breads and confectionery, that was all frozen as well. I could do better in a mainstream supermarket and probably cheaper as well.
Now I understand that we coeliacs are a minority group and that businesses have to make a profit. My argument is not what they offered but their misleading advertising and the attitude of the staff.
I left without purchasing anything and I wont be back.

Came to sample the famous pasties and we were not disappointed. GF option available too. We had to order and return to collect (about 10 minutes) but staff saw me in the queue for collection and brought out my order - how kind. The pasties, normal and GF, were delicious and just perfect for two hungry cyclists. We sat on a bench by the harbour being eyed up by some seagulls but they didn't pinch our pasties! The Bakery also offered hot drinks and sweet items and a coffee and mincepie were also enjoyed

Walked into an empty shop as the Padstow lifeboat had just docked in the harbour. Knew exactly what I wanted and had money in my hand. Thought I had turned into the 'Invisible Man' when three lads came in after me and were immediately asked what they would like. Left and bought a Steak and Ale pasty within seconds elsewhere. Very poor service.

I have never been disappointed with the parties I have eaten from Chough's. I even plan my Padstow walks around buying my lunch from Chough's. There is a lot of chat about whose are best, without doubt, Chough's comes out on top every time.

Unfortunately now overrated. Used to be a lovely place to get freshly baked produce but service and quality has gone down. Went in on two separate, quiet occasions and was totally ignored by the staff so ended up walking out! Had one of their pasties from another outlet and lack of meat and over seasoning spoilt it. Would recommend trying other bakers in the town.

This is an award winning bakery for the cornish pastie, we had to try. Very nice. I've travelled a lot and ate a lot in the UK and although due to Cornwall having applied for the rights to be able to call pasties, "Cornwall Pasties" I have eaten a lot of great tasting "Pasties" outside of Cornwall. Maybe even better, as bakers outside Cornwall I believe can't compete in the yearly baking competition. It's probably a good job that Yorkshire never did the same thing with the Yorkshire pudding. Pudding doesn't have the same meaning/ring to it as "Yorkshire Pudding" . Lol
