The Children's Boutique Review

This is the most beautiful store with incredible clothes and gifts for babies and children. I rely on them to send the perfect gift for me to my friend s children and grandchildren and have never been disappointed. It is hard for. Me to get around these days so I am so grateful to have a wonderful store like. The children . Boutique that I can rely on. And have never been disappointed!q@

I just visited this establishment. I have walked past this store a hundred times (prior location on Walnut St. and now Chestnut St.). Today was the first time that I've ever entered. Big mistake. I went to look at sweaters for my children when an elderly woman with dark hair and glasses approached me. She asked if she could help me with anything which on its face is fine. In response, I said "no, I am just browsing". She asked me to repeat myself which I did. Typically, the "I'm browsing" response is sufficient and the store clerk/owner will go about their business. Unfortunately, not the case here. She proceeded to stand there and watch me until I'd had enough of the awkward interaction and opted to leave. I am an African-American woman. I am well educated. I am gainfully employed and I responsibly spend my money to dress my children. After reading the other negative reviews about this place, I had to post because the behavior was so similar.

I went into this store looking for a panda bear for my baby girl. As soon as I walked into the store I saw the one I wanted and told the elderly woman that is the one I would like. I didn't ask for the price because I was in a hurry and at that point it didn't matter. The service was fine but I honestly didn't feel welcome until I actually paid for the over priced bear and even after that I got the feeling that I honestly wasn't welcome in the store but my business was appreciated. Even tho the children's clothes are beautiful I won't be stand to be discriminated against. The odd part about the whole transaction was that I wasn't never told the price of the bear as the lady rushed to wrap it. I seen the total on the screen and once the elderly woman saw me count out my $108 she proceeded to cash me out. We live in a world where not every young black person needs to steal, their are African Americans who work hard for their money and want to give their children nice things. Just because a person is dressed down you can't determine who they are and what they can and can't afford.

Had a fun experience at the store. Bought a baby gift for a friend, a small outfit. The nice woman wrapped it better then i ever would have done. Another woman suggested a stuffed animal to tie on top and it looked even better. Then when i said i had to take it to Fedex they offered to ship for me. This was a one stop shop for me.

I love this store! Whenever I need a gift for my nephew (who lives in another country) Hilary and her team help me find the right item that is age appropriate and also help with sizing. They are amazingly spot on every time and make me feel right at home. This is a great store for all kids items!

The best place to go for special baby gifts for clients and friends. The hand knit sweaters can be customized with the baby s monogram or for Philadelphia sports teams! Great service from knowledgeable staff, free gift wrap and lots of other really exceptional items.

I can t say enough good things about the children s boutique! If you have a special event or even want to get a memorable item for your baby this is the shop to go to! I was given a gift as a baby shower present and the item was by far my favorite! This is we due to the fact it was so unique, so well made, and so cute for my little girl! The items in the shop range in price and you can find something for everyone! I also received a holiday outfit as a gift from this shop. Needless to say this is going in a memory box, the items were hand stitched and made the photographs I took, look professional! The elderly lady who owns the store and works there is very rude. I would not visit again. I was in for looking for an outfit for my newborn. Appearantly if you don't like the ones she shows you that are "gender specific" clothes she will judge you and of course she will be super nice to the customers who spend a lot more money in her store. It's just a terrible place to buy baby clothes.

Fabulous store! They really understand children s clothing and have a wonderful selection. They will help you find the right outfit, gift and get it to you when you need it. They also are great at finding the right shoes especially for kids with tricky feet.
