The Charles Hotel is THE hotel to stay in in Cambridge. It has a wonderful location right on the edge of Harvard Square. The rooms are pristine and all have beautiful art and everything you need, including a newspaper to read. Grab breakfast or just a coffee downstairs at Henrietta s Table and lounge in the lobby or on one of the beautiful patios before heading off to Boston or Harvard or exploring Cambridge. Parking is on site and the red line (subway /t stop) is steps away. On site gym has a pool with a glass rooftop. The tv hidden inside the bathroom mirrors is a treat - especially if you have young kids asleep in the room- then you can bathe or grab a pillow and relax in the tub to watch a show without disturbing the sleeping babies.

Fantastic people at the front, spacious rooms and amazing breakfast in the morning at the little eatery there. Had an Upgrade ready before I even opened my mouth, they had taken care of everything and explained the benefits of using a Platinum Card here. The bar could have been better if they had a different bartender. If you re in Cambridge, just stay here as I def would.

Writing this review as I continue to get no sleep staying at this hotel. I am in disbelief at all of the good reviews for this place, which must be solely based on the location and atmosphere, because the beds at this hotel are awful. When I say awful, I mean I spent a year backpacking through Europe staying at hostels, and slept better at every single one than I have slept here. When I stay at a nice hotel, I expect to sleep well. Isn't that the real goal here? I'm staying here with family for the long weekend, and I must say, so far I wish I stayed in my dorm on campus because my dorm bed is more comfortable. Feels like sleeping on cardboard, and the rooms are so stuffy. If you close your eyes while laying down you d think you were sleeping in a Motel 6. If you plan on actually sleeping here, I wish you the very best of luck doing so.

Probably one of the classiest hotels without going over board I've ever stayed. Everything from the decor to the friendliness of the staff was top notch and didnt seem forced, etc. We left something in our room after checkout and when we called the gentleman said he would go get it himself and have it waiting for us at the front counter. The food was a little spendy but you definitely get what you pay for, parking is 45/night and I guess it's pet friendly. Its located basically on the Harvard campus. Highly recommend, would stay again.

Loved the location and the atmosphere. Rooms were nice. But it was the start of Harvard fall semester and it was a zoo. There were too many cars and frankly some guests were rude. They expected valets to be always ready. They blocked driveway. They made Massholes tame. Save time and park yourself! You could park short term in the meter garage opposite Bhumibhol Square for $3 an hour. If you want to park overnight the garage is next to the hotel drive way (away from Harvard Square).

As always, top flight. Excellent service and attention to detail in a very low-key and extremely professional manner. Management and staff remember one in a welcoming manner without being overly-familiar. The jewel of Harvard Square!

If you stay a few days in Boston and want to enjoy Harvard Square or the Uni, this hotel is a good option for you.

It's super close to Harvard Square, a few steps; it counts with really great options to eat and drink in the inside. We loved the Henrietta's Restaurant... to say it all, what a great cuisine!

The rooms are nice, clean, and the service efficient and kind.
