If you want your identity stolen go here they ask for your SSN over the phone which is illegal. I'll be reporting this business to the proper authorities. When I refused to give out my SSN over the phone Amy K Saltzer denied services that I requested to do.
I have been looking for a counselor since August of 2017 when I moved here. Between insurance issues and therapists who fail to listen to their clients I ve had 1 bad experience after another. Finally someone recommended the Center for Prevention if abuse. After only 2 sessions I totally feel like Teresa gets me. She asks questions like do you like homework or what do you feel your biggest issue is? And she really listens to the answers. Can t recommend more

I have called a few times. Trying to leave they don't even let me explain about Prairie State . Police reports on landords this Housing Authority. A son in St Louis area need help one way! Senior being abused by Landlords?
They provide much needed services in the Trip County Area.

I dont even want to give this place a 1 star!! I was in a serious abusive relationship and the only way I got out was because this person died. I called this center for help on a saturday morning after being beaten unconscious, 2 black eyes, permanent scars with my child in the next room. When the receptionist answered, told me there was nothing she could do, no one was available until Monday and to call back then!!!! I look back now and am shock and appalled how the 1 and only time I reached out and was turned away!!

I would not recommend any woman or child to go to this place. It was a place my wife and I were supposed to go to to feel safe from our abuser, but it wasn't our abuser we had to fear inside. The staff and supervisors have no hearts or compassion for the clients and the things they allow to go on are unbelievable. There was a client that that was verbally abusive and even made threats of hurting someone inside and staff only had conversations with her making things far more worse. One lady left with her child because she felt it was unsafe for him. Another client cried on a daily basis. The staff didn't care one bit. I was 34 weeks pregnant and they refused to allow me to bring anything in for my unborn child and were extremely cold hearted and rude about it. I was only allowed a car seat and only if new in the box which I could not afford. The place is a joke. I took photos of what they expected me to put a newborn baby in to bathe- a baby tub full of mold and mildew, all 3 of them. The changing table was beyond disgusting and full of holes. They offer no help at all with anything. I'm now in a place I feel safe and receiving the help I need and allowed to have items and clothes for my unborn baby to prepare for her birth.. Please ladies don't go to this shelter. Its not a safe place and the supervisors are horrible people along with the staff. My wife and I were told in confidentiality and concern that if we kept reporting and complaining what was going on we would have to leave shelter. That's not right . this place should not be open or it should be overtaken by someone else.
