The Cell Theatre is one of my favorite places to see interesting quality shows. The space itself is beautiful and the programming by the Cell's creative directors never disappoints! You should go here. Definitely.

Have seen two plays here and really feel that this place is a theatrical gem in the City! Love the warmth and intimacy!

stumbled upon this little place with audience styled chairs and a big bed. there was a couple singing cute songs in the bright lit theater entertaining a huge crowd....so in I walked and sat down to be entertained.

It was quite a find and I'll be back.

The cell is NOT a venue for any serious classical concerts, due to its inadequate piano. The owner of the place, who seems to suffer from a bipolar disease, is also very rude and refuses to improve the piano or to let musicians rent a better one. Too bad. Musicians, do not bother renting the place!

Attended the Charles Tolliver concert July 2; concert was great and venue is very nice, intimate, and seating is well arranged, beer and wine is available too; great place to hear jazz. Listen to WBGO all day and hear live jazz at night, what more could you ask for!!!!!!!!

I have been producing and performing shows at "the cell" for the past eight years. The staff, including Nancy, the Founding Artistic Director, Kira, Artistic Director and the entire staff including Brian, Ricardo, Frank and Liz have always been helpful, accommodating and a pleasure to work with. Even differences of opinion, which have rarely occurred, get worked out smoothly. (For those of you involved in the arts, you know that isn't always the case!)

If you're looking to Showcase your work in a small and intimate, but very cool New York City theatre or if you're looking for a place to hold a small corporate event...give "the cell" a look.

Enjoyed so many amazing jazz concerts here. The Kimberly Thompson CD release, Rene McLean, James Hurt band, Courtney Bryan band just to name a few.
