Delicious food !!!!
First time here. Celebrating my anniversary with my wife. Was felt welcomed right away. The service was perfect I believe Stephanie was our server. Karen also was great. Got all our questions answered
The food was delicious and the ambience was amazing. That view a must see. The drinks are delicious also hats off to the barkeep. Going back soon. Definitely recommend this place.
This place is very good. It has the best food. Certainly mouthwatering
A bit different than the old place. The menu is difficult to read and I didn't see any good appetizers. Sorry, I like the old better. The view is still worth it.
all-around great. it's not often that a restaurant with such amazing views has food to match, but Castaway is the exception. Oysters on the half shell, charcuterie, pressed chicken, bone marrow, and the Wilson cocktail for me -- champagne for my wife -- made for a fantastic new year's day brunch. We will be back up there again soon.
Newly redone restaurant with great food and one of the best views around.
Beautiful place! The food was amazing.
Loved the mimosas me an my sister came here for brunch and loved it. Our server was wonderful u wish I could ve remembered her name. Can t wait to come back.
This was an excellent event at an even more magnificent location! The venue was a wonderful open space with plenty of floor to ceiling windows. The service was incredible and parking was a breeze. Loved the location!
Great services excellent food very excellent view... very pricey but you pay for what you get
The food was delicious, the dessert was fantastic and view was amazing!!!
Great ambiance,ower priced bad food.
Disappointed.
If you want a true LA experience with great views, delicious drinks, excellent service and just awesome people this is the large for you. John entering you can see Burbank and LA. On top of this b.c there exclusive green room is definitely the place to be. I highly recommend this place especially if you are looking for a night out.
This place has a beautiful view kinda expensive but a perfect place to have a date or something
The place has been redone! Looks good. Food is ok, more on the sweet side, tangy stuff. Our server Maxwell has been great and attentive!
Fantastic View and okay food. However the service can range from wonderful to downright terrible.
The central place to have weddings. This place is perfect from small medium and large weddings. Parking is the only issue if you have a large wedding.
This newly renovated Castaway hits the spot! Great food and great view!
I cannot begin to describe how absolutely upset my wife and I are. We are another couple who's wedding plans are ruined because of their disregard for the customer. We booked about a year ago as well and we described our situation. I am in The United States Navy and scheduled this day while my ship was in port prior to deployment. Then just like the previous reviewer was informed of the renovations just months prior to our date. They tell you that they will still help meet your needs, RIGHT!! Two months before, after your invitations are awaiting delivery. Face it, you don't give a ####. What do you care about my tens of thousands of dollars when your spending 10 million in renovations. Forget my financial cost, I'm sure you have a refund system in place and you can deliver your sympathetic apologies. But honestly, tomorrow is going to be just another day for you, your dreams and hard work are not ruined or affected. You don't care. Anyone thinking of going with Castaway should think twice, they won't take care of you, you are just $$$.
Went to a birthday dinner 11/14 with a party of 9 and the waiter Justin R. told us that the tip percentage had to be 22% because we were a table of 6 or more. (He's literally holding the credit card reader making sure we don't change the percentage, dude I know you made like $120 for our entire table for not doing much but this is not ok)
I called the restaurant just now to confirm and the hostess told me that only tables of 12 or more get 18% added. This is so crazy. Don't play games with the guest, your service was not worth 22%. A member of the table said something about the 22% and he said he could bring it down to 20%. If it is not required, don't make it seem like it is required. This is honestly robbery. You barely came to our table anyway..
Ended up being about $370 just for our side of the table (4 people). I hate this, please train your staff to be well mannered and not deceptive, bc I'm not coming back. The hostess said it herself that we can choose the gratuity if the table is less than 12 people
Great location great service great team members exceeding every guest expectacion .it's always been my favorite spot the last 40 years and with new makeover still is the spot.
Delicious food, classy remodel, beautiful view. If I had known there was now so much outdoor seating (due to the remodel) I would have requested a table out there. It was pretty noisy near the bar. The menu unusual... themed to look like a feature script but the lighting was too low clear reading at night. (Suggest larger type and add a light feature to the table or to the menu. Black light would be daring.) The little four-puff loaf of sourdough bread with green spread was lovely. I got the short ribs for an entree and I could have cut it with a butter knife! Perrrrfect! The new parking lot and valet drop off is nice. Classy restaurant!
We had our wedding at 100th bomb group on October 4th 2020. It was the most beautiful night I've ever had! This space was incredibly clean and staff were conscientious of social distancing and wearing their masks at all times.
The events manager, Joshua coyle, was absolutely amazing and checked on us throughout the night to make sure that we or guests did not need anything. The planning process was incredibly easy as well as they were very quick to respond and very accommodating for every request. Our guests went crazy for the food and the specialty cocktails! Nothing could have been more perfect.
Came here for a work function. The staff accommodated our large party with no issues. Food and drinks were good. The view off the deck is amazing. A bit out of the way, but it's unique enough to make the trip worth it.
The entire experience was magical! Thank you Freddie!
Amazing menu. Sides are the best. Cauliflower is so good. Calamari is great. My steak was over cooked, but the cut was so good I didn't really mind. My server was knowledge and helpful. Drinks from the bar take some time. My complaint is while watching the staff work, the dining room attendant was picking up clean water/wine glasses to reset tables with his fingers in the glasses. Pretty gross. Especially when I noticed the can of Skoal in his front pocket.
I was surprised at how good this food was. We ordered it on a whim and are so happy we did. We got the Slider Combo. Keep in mind that your get two sliders which are just regular sized sandwiches. We thought they were small and ended up with 4 sandwiches which was fine because we had them to eat later.
So the heat levels are decently matched IMO and you could argue aren't as hot as the levels describe. The chicken was seasoned well and Dave's sauce is a must add-on if you like extra condiments. We've ordered 4 times already this week and absolutely recommend this spot.
The menu is simple and when you can do one thing really well, that's a plus in my book.
You dont get to pick what area your reservations are for. The menu was limited, over priced, small portions. 2 stars for the view. I would have rather drove up, took a picture and left. Nothing much to write home about.
Don't get me wrong...the remodel is ABSOLUTELY stunning...however...patio service...needs a LOT of work...
Beautiful restaurant. Beautifully remodeled recently, excellent superb view of the San Fernando valley and downtown Los Angeles. Located in the hills high above Burbank California. Menu prices are on the higher end, but food is delicious and the service is good. For special occasions or special events I would recommend it to all
Lovely wedding reception in the Castaways courtyard seating area. The food was beyond amazing.
Beautiful, ambient, romantic atmosphere with options and delicious food! I will definitely be back!
Exceptional location! Food is excellent! Beautiful view of LA from outside sitting area, inside area is cozy and nicely designed! Busy even on weekdays, you have to call for reservations. Not cheap. Valet parking.
The noodles were freshly made, you can see the cook doing what they do for noodles here. Did the shrimp tempura bowl, really good both flavor. Also tried the shrimp onion over rice. Both were enjoyable.
There's not too many places you can find a trifecta like this. Out of all days that I could choose to go here for a first visit, I chose New Years Eve! The party was a blast, the food was great, the decor was comfortable and the staff were the best.
While sitting high on the mountain side overlooking the city having food and drinks, this place was definitely the best decision I made all year (no pun intended). Great view and as you could imagine, a big fireworks show and more!
If you've never been here I highly suggest checking it out with a few friends, I know I'll be back. Thanks
A little dated on the inside, but the views are amazing and the patio is where its at!! Cant wait to come back and have another drink when im in LA.
Kayla made our visit to Castaway so incredibly memorable. She is charming and witty and is absolutely fantastic at her job. We gathered a group of friends at Castaway to celebrate a life changing moment and we are so thankful that she was part of our night. (P.S. the food is great too).
Food, view just would like to see fans on patio for hot days
Food, view, redone decor are all excellent. Service is incredib...ly bad and unprofessional. A restaurant of this caliber usually has one waiter dedicated per table--sometimes more. Our waitress was always on run between several plus trying to beat drinks out of bartender. Water sat empty for way too long. Drinks and appetizers took forever. Several drinks and some parts of main order were wrong. Waiters had no idea who ordered what when main order finally came. Had to ask and wait for steak knives. Truffle butter was cold and on side, other add-ons came late. Hilariously they sent an appology for one of the screw ups--but delivered it to wrong person!
Sunday brunch is amazing! Definitely need to sit on the patio on a nice sunny day. The view of the valley mixed with the golf course and even deer prancing by makes this scenic brunch a tranquil escape. The staff is overly generous. I love this place!!

Exceptional service, exceptional food, exceptional drinks and an amazing view of the city. We loved the entire experience. Just don t go when it is too hot since they only have outside dining right now!
Very nice upscale restaurant. Prices commensurate with the food and ambiance.
Wonderful atmosphere and fantastic nice view accompanied with delicous steak. Highly recommend for a nice evening.
My Steak was fantastic! Twitter told me this was a great place to take a date, indeed it was! Self Parking is down and around the back a bit of a walk, valet was $4.50.
We went to Castaway and thoroughly enjoyed a wonderful family dinner outdoors. The atmosphere was lively , the views were breathtaking and the service was outstanding! Thank you for a great evening!!
Amazing views and food but you pay for the experience $$
The place is beautiful and the environment is amazing. Love their brunch on the weekends but they don't have it anymore. Their new food is delicious but pricey the workers are amazing and super nice thank you
Dear Mr. Derrick Badenhorst
I will like just to say couple words, thank you so much for the hospitality it was Stunning customer service by you and by your crews waiters which their names are Peter, Alex and Nick. I would definitely recommend it friends family and business partner hope to see you guys soon.
Service was satisfactory, not great. Food was good, not great, drinks were good not great. For the prices, it all should be great!
Server never asked us if we needed anything else, if we wanted another round of drinks, if we wanted wine with our steaks, if we wanted more bread. She didn t ask if we were celebrating anything or take a moment to ask us if we had any questions about the menu; she did explain about the menu and did make a few suggestions.
We ate the meat and cheese platter; it was presented nicely, different and tasted delicious.
Filet Steaks were served on a huge plate, seemed over-kill, although cooked very well and tasted good. Ribeye, bone in, was perfect and delicious. Asparagus was good, not great, lobster potato was unique but not delicious. French fries were not exceptional.
Margarita was tasty, martini was very good.
The Birthday complementary desert was just okay.
The venue was pretty uphill so the view was spectacular. The buffet was delicious especially the vegetarian lasagna which I never had before. The room was spacious.
Seems like a nice spot. I was doing an awards event there and had to take it in through the eyes of C-3PO.
The view, the ambiance, the food, I mean not much more someone could ask for and this was before their new remodel. Maybe they'll send me a complimentary meal so I can see their new look. But between you and I, I'm gonna go anyway.. shh
Liked the remodeling but...not too sure about the new "brunch menu style"?! The food was very tasty and we enjoyed it but...we were caught off guard with the new brunch style. Overall, we had a good time!
We went two weeks ago for Sunday brunch about 35 people for a mother an daughter dinner, the service was good, they kept the mimosas flowing an the view was great, and the food was pretty good, plan to come back in a week for our anniversary.
Amazing views, delicious food and excellent service! The ambience was great and perfect for a romantic night out. The manager Debra took great care of us and was super accommodating when we wanted to change seats and sit on the other side of the restaurant despite it being extremely busy with limited seating. I highly recommend!
First time here and I was impressed, omg it was so good, for sure will come back
My new favorite place for lunch--Pasta dishes! Great sauce and Al Dente pasta! One dish was not enough for me lol. Free complimentary garlic bread are also tasty.
Great service. Everyone was courteous and helpful. Food was alright.
Awesome place!
Great food great environment and great people!
We were there for brunch & to celebrate a birthday & the host made note of that. When we were taken to our table, we were surprised that tables were closer than 6ft apart & the entire floor was busy. Service was good, our waiter sure was working hard & fast taking care of all his tables. Food was pretty good as well; however, the "birthday" issue was never mentioned, I was disappointed about that too, besides the lack of appropriate tables distancing.
Very disappointed. After a multimillion dollar renovation even though the restaurant is in a beautiful location, they do not have their amazing champagne brunch anymore. To make matters worse the brunch menu they do have is limited and awful. They are making an attempt to make this restaurant in the same vein at Hollywood and downtown with flavors that go too far. The hangover hash had no hash, was bitter and was steeped in too much wine. The Eggs Benedict was served on a waffle with short rib. You can't even order regular Eggs Benedict. Most people especially in the suburbs dont enjoy unusual avant garde flavors and this restaurant is trying wayyy too hard with their menu to the point that's it's an unsatisfying experience.
Be aware. Very disorganized when scheduling events. Food is not memorable.
I really enjoyed myself & definitely go back. I wasn't feeling well & our server brought me juice, water & Sprite & kept checking on me to help me feel better. The atmosphere is beautiful & all our food was delicious!
Great food and view. We held a corporate event there and it went flawlessly.
Visited this place for their wedding venue. Didn't fall in love, but the staff was very nice and the restaurant with its views look wonderful. Will come back for the city views alone.
Our first time back since they renovated was for our 33rd anniversary. We hoped it would be special and it was. It's pricier, but the food, view, ambiance and service were all great!
Bad service with attitude will be my last time here! Ruined our night
Restaurant is on a high hill in Burbank, and has excellent views !
Good and delicious food with a view! Friendly service!
Great Thanksgiving dinner. Prices have gone up since last time
