One of the utmost enjoyable points of Calgary Stampede is the HUGE crowds of people we get to enjoy gathering with, bumping into, going out of our way to be polite and friendly to. While a few may moan about crowds, isnt that the whole point of a successful enjoyable outdoor event!! In this day of severe lack of socializing in person (technology), the waves of wonderful people all together enjoying the Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth are a no.1 reason for all the joy and smiles this annual fulfilling event brings. Little inconveniences like parking, distance to walk, lineups,...all can be planned around with positive planning and thought toward the pleasure of each day of the annual Stampede. Always sad to see it end, but counting down the days to next year's Stampede provides enjoyment too! Thank You Calgary Stampede always!!!

Go down there on a regular basis to work and the greedy C.S. charges the people helping them make money $15 to park. Sometimes it's a $75 week. They dont make enough money on these events, come on. To greedy.

Both the rodeo and the evening show are amazing!! Some of the most unique performances and best fireworks I have ever seen. Very impressive line up of performers at the free stage too and lots of eat and do for the whole family.

I went to the Stampede grounds in particular to the BMO Roundup center for the new car show on the weekend. The show was terrific, all the car manufacturers are on display with their models for everyone to look at and most of them allowed you to sit in the vehicles. There were a few exceptions, Lamborghinis, Ferraris, Rolls Royce, and the latest addition of the Corvette. The only downside to the whole event, was the Stampede charging $15 to park. I chose to park outside , at a much reduced rate. I truly believe the Stampede could charge 5 to $6 which would be a reasonable rate. The admission to the car show was $15 and with the Stampede charging $15 to park $30 just to walk in the door is a pretty steep price.

No communication between different staff departments. Had VIP tickets for an event, CS changed the venue and said all old tickets would be honored in new venue. Customer service and new venue building/ticket staff did not know anything about it when we arrived. Event security new about it but you had to get past the venue staff 1st.

I've been going every year, sometimes a few times in the same week. I've been going since I was about 6 yrs old, when our Dad used to bring us for the whole day & evening to Chuckwagon races, & Grandstand show.
I'm now a Senior, so I've been going along time!
Stampede lost some good Vendors in the BMO CENTRE, because they raised the Booth $ price $ TOO HIGH!

It's a lot of fun and while there are a few cons, I feel the pros out way the cons. A lot of ppl but a lot to do. Admission is I think fair but a bit pricey for food and condiments But well worth the experience.

Always a good time down here. It is worth while to give yourself a lot of time as parking can be a bit if a pain. The grounds, during stampede, are quite expensive, so think about packing a lunch.

An amazing show, great atmosphere! One of those worldwide culturally significant events that you must experience at least once in your life. Be sure to see the chuck wagon racing and the Stampede Show at night.

The parking is terrible. $15 to find you own spot and then have an attendant yell at you for not parking where he thought you should park. I will not be parking on the Stampede's holy ground again.

Disappointing....you can supply a shower for people to hop under because of it been so hot, but you don't have any facilities to full drink bottles. You charge everyone $4.00 for a miserable size bottle . The food we got was yuck and not hot. For the 25,000 people you had come from far away over land and sea, would of made it and awesome place to come. But don't get me wrong the shows were spectacular.

I grew up with the stampede and I love it. Local Calgarians sometimes pride themselves not being into the stampede. Bah humbug I say. During this magical time, folks are generally in a good mood and the community is out together having pancake breakfasts together. What's there to not like? Plus, there plenty of opportunities to go to the grounds for free. I don't know of any other festival in major cities generously offering such accessibility. Great fun and there's something for everyone. Yeehaw!

Festival not to be missed! A day is not enough to go around. There are many rides. Many things to see. Commercial stands, rodeo, motocross, dog shows ... and a lot of trucks where you can probably buy meals from four corners of the world. The village of first nations is a must see and the races of carts. An unforgettable experience !
