Stayed for our Anniversary. Had dinner at the English Grill which was fantastic. Made us feel welcome during our stay. Also. Made us a special desert to celebrate our special day as well.

Historic place and somewhat dated. To be expected. My biggest grip is that I had a bedside lamp that was not working. Requested they have some look at it. They said they wood. I get back to my room and the light still didn t work. Wouldn t have been a big deal but an older hotel like this is dependent on lamps to illuminate the room.

The beds are comfortable and the club level breakfast and happy hour are great. But the musty old cigarette smell that just seems to be present everywhere in the hotel was very off-putting. And it's a smell that stays with you and permeates your hair and clothing. Just because of the smell and my sensitivity to it, I would not stay here again.

I used to work here as a pastry cook and banquets helper. I visited a friend 3 months ago. I'm not a fan of hot brown but lots of people does. If you haven't try it. You definitely should. And their desserts are worth to try.

Absolutely beautiful and more than we could have hoped for. Not only is this hotel stunning but family friendly. We had dinner here and the steak was tender enough to cut with a butter knife.

Nice, elegant hotel. I stopped in to have their famous Hot Brown dish, and it was very good. Service was excellent, and the staff were helpful and friendly. The lunch buffet also looked good.

The Brown Hotel is breathtakingly beautiful. The staff was friendly and helpful. We were lucky enough to get to visit the rooftop garden to see the sunset-the employee who went with us was so sweet and charming. The location is perfect for exploring downtown Louisville.

This is a beautiful hotel and the service is wonderful. My opinion is skewed, though, because we were upgraded without charge to the Muhammed Ali suite. The hotel was sold out and we were the lucky ones to get bumped up to the enormous and well appointed suite. Even so, The Brown Hotel is a place I'd stay again. The lobby has a swanky feel to it, like you should sip Manhattans there until the wee hours. The staff is helpful and all smiles, all the time. And the location is central, with many dining options within walking distance.

A local landmark hotel with rooms and bathroom that are quite large. While this is a historic hotel, the rooms could still use some freshening up. The staff was not as accommodating as I expected.

Really cool historic hotel! I stay in hotels around 80-90 days out of my year. Where staying at a hotel might be a treat for some I consider it a great burden. Every once in a while I do find a gem like this one. The Brown is a Deco-era hotel that's woven into the fabric of downtown Louisville's history. It is also a perfect example of the elegance that hides itself in Southern states like Kentucky and the Carolinas. If you do like Bourbons they've got a good knowledge and selection of the local spirit (try the Henry McKenna 10 year, but don't expect to like anything you try after... fair warning). If you're in the mood for some good food do not, I repeat, do not miss the Bourbon Burger. The shrimp and grits were also good if you're in the mood but the burger was surprising. I will most certainly sample some of the other items from the menu next time I'm in town. Some rooms are nicer than others. The one I had this time was on the Club (or Concierge?) Level and had two large windows in the bathroom with louvered blinds. I've never seen that before. Very period. Anywho, neat hotel if you like the vintage thing. Enjoy!

Outstanding hotel and service. The room was small but cozy with authentic decor. The second floor decorations we're breathtaking. Then entire hotel is simply beautiful. They have done an amazing job keeping the authenticity of the hotel alive!

Loved the hotel, everyone was friendly. The check-in area, bar, and dining rooms were gorgeously decorated. The rooms need a little updating and are a little musty but they are large and the beds are comfy. Both restaurants serve delicious food. The service in the Grill is knowledgeable and friendly.

This elegantly beautiful and historic hotel is not only comfortable and inviting, but laced with good service at every turn. From the bell desk that opens the door for you as you arrive, to the front desk that greets you with a warm smile, service is clearly a priority at this 4 diamond property. In the lobby, a hot chocolate and apple cider station greeted us. You'll find both the public areas as well as the rooms elegant yet cozy. The food in the restaurants is every bit as good as what you'd expect. Both famous and imitated throughout the city, the Hot Brown started at this hotel many generations ago and is an amazing dish that absolutely must be tried at least once. History seeps from the walls at every turn, and the staff always seems more then happy to tell you stories of the the hotels colorful past. Whether in the Louisville area for work or pleasure, making the Brown your home away from home will be a decision you'll appreciate and never forget.

Had the buffet for lunch, and it was very good food. My only complaint is that a woman, who must have been a manager, was way too overly cheerful. That may sound weird, but you could tell she wasn't being genuine and that was very off putting. But, I went there for the food and the food was great.

I have to say, The Brown lives up to the hype and sets the standard for hospitality here in Louisville. Marc and his team are second to none! The only thing better might be their breakfast options. Stay here and you will not be disappointed.

Booked a reservation for the lobby bar for lunch through open table. The hot brown sandwich is seriously one of the best sandwiches I ve ever eaten. It was huge, and my husband and I split it. They brought it out divided in two separate skillets for us. My husband loved the old fashioned. Service was great. The lobby is beautiful. Loved all of the old menus and holiday programs displayed throughout. Would definitely eat here again if we are ever back in town.

The hotel that does not date from yesterday has class! It's "cozy", quiet. The service and friendliness of the staff (from the valet to the management) go beyond my expectations. The rooms are comfortable and nothing to say in terms of cleanliness.

great hotel, with great restaurants. here you re treated like a king, even during covid. most amenities are open & the lobby bar has a plethora of bourbons to sip or enjoy in a cocktail. the shuttle will take you anywhere in a 1 mile radius for no charge, and the staff has a great attitude. our server last night gave us great bourbon trail recommendations, and so did Doug, our driver this morning. will definitely stay at The Brown Hotel from now on!
