Brass Bell has great and vibrant customer service, with a live band to entertain the customers. This is definitely a great place to visit with friends and even alone if you would like. I would advise everyone who reads this report to go and see for yourself

Food was yum and the whole vibe great ! Loved the restaurant.
Just two points to maybe improve on:
1.Getting standing gas heaters because it is very cold there, would make it much more cozy.
2. Adjusting the live bands volume coz you can not make conversation while the bands playing which is all the time, you literaly have to yell at the person right next to you.

But in general it was good, waiters are friendly, the food was good and the band was great just a little too loud.

The venue is huge with loads of seating options all with a view of the ocean. The food is absolutely delicious especially the fillet! Definitely worth a visit & revisit

Awesome place, the best Mexican maguerita and fabulous food

The restaurant is versatile in the offer and therefore something for everyone. Every time we were very happy with the food and service. Specialties here are meat dishes, but also had steak, which is highly recommended .... baby calamari grilled ... delicious !!!!!
Ambiance is kept simple, but a beautiful view of the sea .. Parking is right next door and on the street.

Visited after being away for 30 years. Felt exactly the same as back in the 80's. Great place.

Perfect location for a swim and a drink. On windy days it is quite impossible though at high tide.

Really enjoyed karaoke night, great pizza, but the ladies toilets should be kept clean at all times and it smelt absolutely terrible.

Cool pub. Can either go to the restaurant or the bar. Both are very nice

What a lovely place to go for relaxing enjoying a meal or have a drink. There are a kiddies pool and 2 Tadel pools for Adults to unwind in.

So chilled. Excellent service and wonderful food. Rustic venue.

Always loved Brass Bell. Great atmosphere right by the ocean. Can get a little too busy on Friday and Saturdays though...

Another one of my Top List pubs of Cape Town. From the old original bar with cosy views of the crashing surf, to the family friendly outside areas with more views, and tidal pool for the kids.

Absolutely impressed with this gem! Amazing sushi and service. The fish and chips looked amazing and were well reviewed by family. Beautiful spot for a well priced meal!

Centrally located in Kalk Bay a bustling little shopping and crafts coastal village. Brass Bell offers meals for everyone tastes with fresh seafood coming in on the local boats. The most tender calamari you will eat anywhere in the world. Mouth watering white wine thyme and garlic saise for the mussels. Endless breathtaking views over the Indian Ocean and Hottentots Holland Mountains. Always a vibe here after sunset with many local bands and other entertainment. The staff are attentive and the owner has had the place pushing 35 years.

Came after recommendation, wouldn't recommend to anyone. Service was fair enough but I'd be better off buying frozen fish and chips at the supermarket. The place is run down and dirty, looks like no one has spent a penny on looking after it in 20 years, makes you wonder what amazing photoshop technology has been used for the photo of the place.... I didn't recognise it!

Situated right on the quay, it was very interesting to watch the boats land their catch, very helpful and friendly staff.

What a treat having a little sand area and shallow water for the kids! Beautiful view too. Next time I will pack in costumes for the kids and try rinse better . Was in a hurry so just ordered a pizza definitely will go back and order fresh fish that I heard was great. Really can spend some time here and kids happy with sand and water hope still this holiday

The amazing vibe and live music if perfect for summer days. Even on overcast days it is beautiful to sit in the enclosed glass section. The food is delicious everytime.

The food has become expensive for what you get. They also need to update their menu. I must add though that the food is good.

Location is spectacular. Food is straightforward, but good and appropriate for the location. Like the informal atmosphere. Service not brilliant, but completely acceptable. In short, I love it!

Brass bell is a restaurant I've been going to all my life, but they're a bit unpredictable. Sometimes I'll order the same meal multiple times and it will be good the first time then horrible the next.

My first time visiting a restaurant that was literally built on the sea waters...staff were friendly and the food was really good too

Great food, lovely views and quite peaceful!
We sat on the top view deck (to the right as you walk in). Great service, provided with amazing milkshakes, then our food arrived. We chose about 5 things for the 3 of us. Everything prepared well and served hot and yummy. It was quiet when we arrived (4pm ish) which was great for us as we had the attention of all staff. But even if this venue was full or half full I think you d have still had great service AND food!
