Love this place, have been to the dungeon a few times and enjoyed it every time.
Love this place, have been to the dungeon a few times and enjoyed it every time.
History can be fun and this place is proof of that. Visitors are taken to participate in events that took place in Amsterdam's black history. But if you don't master a little English, it's not worth it.
Nice experience .. To do if you understand the English language perfectly
Good way to discover amsterdams history woth real actors
Worth a visit. Staff give it there all and we were lucky to get out alive
Simply fantastic. I was sure that it would be campy based on other reviews but I was surprised at just how much fun it was. I reccomend if you go to madame tussauds ask for the upgrade ticket for the Amsterdam dungeon for a 50% discount.
Beautiful tourist attraction, recommended for all ages =)
It's really nice, some times you get scary but it doesn't mean that you'll get scared. You'll also get to know the history of Amsterdam. We really enjoyed.
It's a fun place and they scare you a little. The tour lasts about an hour and the story is very nice
Great laugh for an hour or so and the staff that run it are brilliant
Worth one visit for a different experience, nothing scary
I loved it.
It's unique.
Wasn't scary to be but girls were scared and even some guys had jumpy moments.
I personally would have preferred to be scarrier but i guess that won't be good for their business.
Anyway it's a must have experience.
Better than all the museum's and arts.
A great place worth visiting show the history of Amsterdam in a slightly different way inny
It was funny and scary. However, I find the Berlin Dungeon better
An experience that is both fun, funny and educating
For me looking for fun and horror I advise you not to go .. Place idea to view the history and stories more than what is horror and fun
it's nicely made but never creepy. only in the last room were there a few real horror effects. the admission price is also far too high for what is offered, certainly because you are only a good hour in.
Had a great time loved the interactive shows staff were great
I wish I could take photos. The actors were very talented, the scenario was great, the decorative design and the journey through the dungeons is just as brilliant. Don't miss this.
It was a fun experience.. but maybe for kids.. its not worth the price for adults
Loved the place. The actors were amazing and their performances were superb. You have to go to the place definitely
Some actors try really hard, but overall the audience is too involved for my taste. If you are afraid of embarrassing yourself in front of a group of strangers, it is best not to sit in front.
I found the judge particularly bad, who apparently wanted to imitate Sasha Baron Cohen or a hip hopper. I think that doesn't go with the historical costumes or the atmosphere. Unfortunately, it was more about cheap gags than conveying information or shock effects. Conclusion: not worth it.
I was afraid it was a kind of tourist trap, but it was just fun.
Awesome place, every room has a theme with small games. Includes a mirror room and a free drink. Could be scarier though with more engaging props. No falling mannequins etc. Everything was quite expected even when they're waiting in the corner. Girls are more likely to be picked in every room so they can provide added SFX. Better go in a balanced group.
Fantastic place, just as good as the other dungeons but you get a beer after the experience.... 5 stars ? I would give 6 if I could do :)
Truly worth a visit if you are within the area.
Not sure I agree with the reviews sighting "history" as part of the show. It's mostly "it's the Spanish inquisition and people were tortured" I don't feel like it's really meant to be educational and if it is more information should be given. It's a lot of jump scares and bad jokes. It's fun but not quite what I'd hoped for. As a family friendly show it's entertaining. As anything else I think there are better places to go.
Increadible excperience from the beginning till the End . And breathtaking moments
Super actors who tell the Amsterdam story in scary, beautifully understandable English
Great way to spend a good hour. A fun way to get an insight into history
Really good actors and scenery! It could be a little more scary in my opinion but it's an interesting experience
Second visit to the Amsterdam dungeon, entertaining journey through history.
Was great fun and the actors were brilliant. Bit of a long wait but totally worth it!
Admission for adults 23 euros.
There were three of us, it was quite entertaining. Very talented actor. Still expected more excitement.
Celebrated Halloween yesterday. A visit to a horror house should not be missed. I enjoyed it. Very friendly staff and nice actors. After our visit we received a well-filled goody bag. The only thing I miss is the roller coaster. I understand that had to be removed by order of the fire brigade.
From the actors to the bar to the entering of the place. Everything is amazing. It's a lovely thing to do with friends and family. Combine it with dinner from the local restaurants and its perfect
Awesome attraction! You should really get high and go on an adventure :)
Good luck getting out of the mirror maze.
The history aspect of it got totally lost in the performance and getting everyone involved. I am still none the wiser about what happened in Amsterdam. The main focus was getting everyone involved in each performance which came across uncomfortable and forced.
Girlfriend nearly had a heart attack. Would recommend.
It was a fun experience with a show that really has a lot of effort put into it. Actors are convincing enough for the most part and the act does contain a lot of audience participation, so don't stand out if you don't want to be an unwilling participant.
Actors do get a bit lost in character sometimes, which does result in some belittling form time to time in situations where people do not really understand English or are hesitant to join in, but I suppose you know what you were getting into when you entered the Dungeon.
Wow didn't expect this to be so good, the performers were funny and scary, this got me jumping a few times, loved the atmosphere and the stories. Would definitely recommend.
Should you have done that. Buy tickets better online - you can save a lot.
Good actor leadership in English, scary factor of 1 to 10 - mMn. at 4 - 5 :-)
Ambience good but entertainers were not that convincing.
Worst place if you have already visited horror house
Not that Scarry
However this one is good for kids but not for adults
Waste of money for adults
Very scary and actually educational aswell loved the staffs interactions with the visitors
It was an amazing experience of the dungeons back then!
Fortunately, we bought our tickets online and in combination with Madame Tussauds. The guide was easy to understand and funny, but there was no trace of horror and horror. For horror fans who are used to a lot, the dungeon is more of a fun show. In the end there was a free drink, which was very friendly.
Cozy ! And nice only the tour was shorter than expected
Cool experience. Excellent actors. Good atmosphere.
This was a great experience! The actors/actresses were really into playing their roles. The tickets to get in can be a bit pricey if you just turn up on the door but there are discount brochures which give you a few euros off.
Loved it! Genuinely jumped out of my skin quite a lot though so it's not for the faint hearted... Thought the actors really committed to their parts to give an authentic experience.
Cool attraction (very scary) but sometimes the actors are difficult to understand because English is spoken very quickly.
