This trip organized by Terres Lointaines, half to Moscow, half to St Petersburg, perfectly met our expectations both in terms of the choice of sites visited and the service of the guide on both sides. Very good communication also in the preparatory phase for the few desired adjustments to the standard program, and obtaining visas. Really everything to be satisfied.
We spent 2 weeks in Indonesia in August 2018 to the rhythm of the circuit "Java - Bali in Small Group" (we were 9 travelers).
A big thank you to Jean Baptiste who organized this circuit very balanced between adventure and more restful rhythm. The extension to Amed allowed us to see a multitude of multicolored fish, the wreck of Tulamben but also turtles and ... a shark!
We wanted to highlight the involvement of Ouzzine, our guide in Java. He made us visit the sites on the program with great attention, but did much more than that !!! He really wanted us to discover his country.
He spent a lot of his time showing us scenes from everyday life in Java like:
- the manufacture of tempeh
- visiting a flower / pet market off the beaten path
- homemade confectionary of chips
- visiting a house
- fishing boats in action
- a coffee plantation
- the rubber harvest ....
He made us taste a lot of exotic fruits bought by him (including the durian !!). Always listening, he responded with a lot of details to all our questions and constantly made sure to communicate his enthusiasm. In short, he made our trip unforgettable !!!
It was our first trip with Far Lands. This gives us a strong desire to retry the experience with this agency.
Perfect organization of our trip to the large parks of West America (18 days). Numerous exchanges with Terres Lointaines during the preparation of the stay with immediate reactivity. No problem whatsoever with hotel reservations, car rental (no unforeseen extras) and air travel from Paris and San Francisco on the way back. Travel diary very well done to locate hotels and not miss any visits. Perfect availability of assistance in France but difficulty reaching that of the US. We highly recommend Terres Lointaines and will not hesitate to contact them for a future trip.
Trip to South Africa in small group. Really good. But program a little too rich compared to the given time. Maybe lengthen the duration of the circuit to give breaths.
Very disappointed by the agency in general. Changes have been made between the first quote and the reservation. Of course, the beautiful car was no longer available so change to another category (no price decrease). Ditto for the super-good hotel in Hollywood replaced by a hotel near the airport far from everything!
Some hotels charged us the price of the room when it was already paid. They sent us back to the concierge desk "offered", three phone calls to get them and let them ring 50 times. All this to fall on people who speak poor French and who answer that it would arrange them although we called directly the hotel to solve the problem. What are they used for?
For flights, impossible to board board pass online or choose seats. This should have been done by the agency when booking. So, we were not planned together on the 4 flights. We had to negotiate each time, so if I paid an agency it was not to have to do it.
The choice of hotels was not so good and cheap, I see where they made money.
The travel documents were not great, no information on the sites to visit apart from the big sites.
I advise you to choose Road 66 road trip.
I went through the TL agency in Geneva and I was delighted with this experience. Agent hyper reactive and available. No bad surprises during the trip and hotels very well located in each city.

All services requested, proposed and validated before departure were 100% respected throughout the trip. The rooms with a view are really "with a view" and, as well the choice of the rooms of host or hotel as the general organization of the stay, were perfect.
I went on a roadtrip to Cuba, with my 16 year old daughter, by Terres Lointaines. I find it scandalous that we can send a single woman and her daughter to a country with insecurity by ensuring that this country is 100% safe. We encountered problems on the road (intentionally punctured tire, false police, real corrupt police, car jacking, and scams of all kinds, ...). If Terres Lointaines, paid dearly, had normally advised us, we would have gone on a group trip. Terres Lointaines responded to my complaint very lightly by telling me that I only had to take a driver. Result: 5,300 euros and wasted holidays. I do not recommend.
