Anazing.my birthday yesterday was truly a great time !
Wonderful, I went to visit with my students. We loved it.
A temple! Quite different than synagogues or shuls! Men & women sit side by side! No problem! Music is in! The rabbi is a woman! Temple emanu-El is called reformed! Saturday morning there are services. At times during holy days it joins shaar hashomayim for common activities! Best way to know is to visit the temple!
I felt very welcome in this synagogue. The Rabbi and congregation were super nice. I am culturally Jewish although my parents were Holocaust survivors and my grandparents were observant, I always felt like an outsider at shul. Now I have my own shul that not only welcomes me but understands and helps me along with the prayers, all the while being accepting of all my faux pas. Thank you!
Wonderful congregation, very welcoming to newcomers. Lots of activities and weekly services are very active and energetic with EXCELLENT music.
We just add an Elevator. In full renovation. Addition of an elevator.
I became an adult Bat Mitzvah at Temple in 2016 and during our year of study was bullied by several members of the group. When I worked up the nerve to tell the Rabbi I was being bullied, she didn't take me seriously and said she was sure "they didn't mean it." Isn't there some wiser and more compassionate advice in the Torah? Avoid this place.
One of the most beautiful synagogues I have been in. The main chapel is very spacious with elegant designs. The reception hall is spacious and good for parties.
I also really like the welcoming, reform atmosphere which allows women to not only participate but lead the ceremony.
This is a wonderful, warm, inclusive place to study and worship. The only of it`s kind in Montreal and the best of it's kind in the world (I admit slight bias here, but I have been to other reform synagogues in Canada, US and Israel and truly do love Temple Emanu-el)
We were coming as tourists from Israel on Kipur evening day and wanyed to join the prayer, but could not get in without tickets! There was no possibility to buy it on site, so we had to stay outside and be embareced by an absulutely unpolite Security man. Thanks a lot!!!
Amazing experience, lovely people, impressive temple. It is a must go.
