Temple Beth Shira (TBS) is a dynamic and inclusive Reform Jewish congregation that has been serving the Southern Palm Beach County area since 2003. As the only Union for Reform Judaism (URJ) Synagogue west of the Florida Turnpike, TBS is proud to be the spiritual home of many families and individuals from West Boca Raton, Delray Beach, Boynton Beach, and beyond.

At TBS, we believe that Judaism is a living tradition that can enrich our lives in countless ways. Our Congregation

TBS is more than just a place of worship – it's a vibrant community where people come together to celebrate life's joys and support each other through its challenges. Our congregation includes families with children of all ages as well as singles, couples, seniors, LGBTQ+ individuals and interfaith families. We embrace diversity as one of our core values and strive to create an inclusive atmosphere where everyone feels valued for who they are.

Our Services

At TBS we offer both traditional and modern approaches to prayer that reflect our commitment to innovation while honoring our rich heritage. Our services are led by Rabbi Seth Levine who brings his passion for Torah study along with his engaging style into every service he leads.

We offer weekly Shabbat services on Friday evenings which include music led by Cantor Lori Shapiro along with inspiring sermons from Rabbi Levine or guest speakers. On Saturday mornings we hold Torah study sessions followed by an interactive service which encourages participation from all members.

In addition to regular services we also hold special holiday celebrations throughout the year including High Holy Days, Sukkot, Hanukkah, Purim and Passover. These events are a great opportunity to connect with the community and celebrate our shared traditions.

Our Education Programs

At TBS we believe that education is a lifelong journey that enriches our lives and deepens our connection to Judaism. We offer a wide range of educational programs for all ages including:

- Religious School: Our religious school program provides children from kindergarten through high school with a comprehensive Jewish education that includes Hebrew language instruction, Torah study, Jewish history and culture.
- Adult Education: We offer ongoing classes on various topics such as Torah study, Jewish ethics, spirituality and more. These classes are open to all members of the community regardless of their level of knowledge or experience.
- B'nai Mitzvah Preparation: Our B'nai Mitzvah program prepares students for this important milestone in their lives by providing them with personalized instruction in Hebrew reading and chanting as well as an understanding of the meaning behind the prayers they will lead.

Our Community Outreach

At TBS we believe in giving back to our community both locally and globally. We have several ongoing initiatives that support those in need including:

- Food Pantry: Our food pantry provides assistance to families who are struggling with food insecurity by providing them with nutritious meals on a regular basis.
- Social Action Committee: Our social action committee works on various projects throughout the year such as clothing drives, blood drives and more which benefit those in need both locally and globally.
- Partnership 2Gether Program: Through this program we have established partnerships with communities in Israel which allows us to build bridges between Jews living here in Southern Palm Beach County and Jews living abroad.
