About Temple beth am
Temple Beth Am: The House of the People
Temple Beth Am is a Reform congregation that was founded in 1955 and is located in Pinecrest, South Miami-Dade County. It is open to all and committed to Jewish continuity, life-long education, spiritual renewal, life-cycle transitions, Shabbat and holy day celebrations. The Temple offers religious, educational, cultural, social and athletic programs that meet the dynamic needs of our community.
At Temple Beth Am we believe in nurturing and caring for our members. We are dedicated to providing a welcoming environment where everyone feels at home. Our congregation is made up of people from all walks of life who share a common bond through their love for Judaism.
Religious Services
Our religious services are designed to be inclusive and meaningful for everyone who attends. We offer traditional services as well as contemporary ones that incorporate music and other forms of artistic expression. Our clergy are knowledgeable about Jewish traditions but also open-minded when it comes to exploring new ideas.
Education Programs
We believe that education is key to ensuring Jewish continuity. That's why we offer both the Temple Beth Am Day School and the Temple Beth Am Religious School which provide students with an excellent education while instilling them with Jewish values.
The Day School provides students with an outstanding secular education while also teaching them about their heritage through Hebrew language instruction, Judaic studies classes, holiday celebrations and more.
The Religious School offers classes for children from pre-kindergarten through high school on Sunday mornings during the school year. Students learn about Judaism through interactive lessons that include music, art projects and discussions on current events related to Israel or other topics relevant to their age group.
Cultural Programs
We believe in celebrating our rich cultural heritage by offering programs that showcase Jewish artistry such as concerts featuring Israeli musicians or dance performances by local troupes specializing in Israeli folk dancing styles like hora or debka.
Social Activities
We understand how important it is for people to connect with one another outside of formal settings like religious services or educational programs so we offer many opportunities throughout the year for members (and non-members) alike including social events like movie nights or game nights as well as volunteer opportunities within our community outreach program which helps those less fortunate than ourselves whether they be homeless individuals living on Miami's streets or families struggling financially due illness job loss etc..
Athletic Programs
We know how important it is for people stay active so we offer athletic programs such as basketball leagues volleyball leagues yoga classes etc.. These activities help promote physical fitness while also fostering camaraderie among participants who share similar interests outside religion culture etc..
Conclusion:
In conclusion Temple Beth Am has been serving South Florida's Jewish community since 1955 providing its members with a nurturing environment where they can explore their faith learn new things make friends have fun stay healthy give back others need help most importantly feel part something bigger themselves!
