Good food and nice atmosphere. Our waiter was reasonable but wore his apron and pants so low that you could see his belly - not exactly appetizing.

It's oddly uneven in both service and food. Sometimes exceptional and knowledgeable staff and other times absent. The food can be best preparation and other items below corner store quality. I'm convinced that there is a management issue for the range to be to wide.

Quite expensive any time other than lunch, but worth every penny. The food is presented incredibly well, and the dishes are fantastic. Teatro is something of a Calgary institution, and a restaurant everyone needs to make a point of trying once.

We went to Teatro to celebrate a special occasion and were hoping for a fine dining experience. While the building is beautiful it was about the only part that was fine dining.

We started with calamari and oysters which were quite good but we were all VERY disappointed with our entrees. They were all seriously under seasoned or way too dry. Not fine dining or authentic Italian at all.

Service was terrible. The gentleman who brought us to our seats (which are HORRIBLY UNCOMFORTABLE, by the way) was nice but out actual server had an attitude. Never cracked a smile or asked how anything was. It was the end of the world when we asked her for anything.

We spent over $600 for our party and I'm fine with spending that kind of money on a meal if it's worth it. This meal wasn't worth it and we won't be going back.

5 stars is not enough. Excellent food, wine and experience. Highly recommend the tasting menu with wine pairings. Be ready to uber home

Definitely the more expensive Italian place in the city. Food is amazing. The restaurant gives a warm feel and staff are amazing.

The only thing going for this place is the upscale decor and the fact that some of the staff are nice. My husband and I went there to celebrate a recent event and we were sorely disappointed. A fly landed in my glass of wine before I was half way done drinking it and one of the waitresses just poured out the fly instead of getting me a fresh one.
The pasta dishes my husband and I ordered were bland and lacking and flavour or richness. In the end we paid $150 for 3 glasses of white wine blend, a piece of mushroom toast and 2 small pasta dishes. I ve had much better Italian dining experiences at restaurants that don t charge nearly as much.

It was a fanastic experience for my sister-in-law's birthday experience at Teatro. We enjoyed the Chef catered meals and had a great family time

I wish I could stay here for longer. Had pork chops and gnochi. Will try the desserts next time.

Our server & the kitchen did an excellent job of accommodating special dietary requirements. Excellent food. Attentive service. No sense of being rushed. It was good to see all the tables full around 6:30, but it cleared out and quieted down by about 8:30.

Excellent food & above and beyond service. Had the 6 course chef tasting menu & was amazed by the creativity of the chefs in their kitchen.

Celebrated husband's 30th birthday and we had the 6-course Chef's Tasting Menu. We were very impressed with the selection and it was a wonderful gastronomic experience. Tasteful flavors served on elegant plating for each course. You definitely eat with your eyes first and our palates were not disappointed either. The restaurant has a warm ambience with excellent waitstaff. Will visit again!

A real let down to be honest. I made reservations online several weeks before and was really looking forward to a night of fine dining. The restaurant is beautiful inside, good thing because we stood at the front entrance waiting for a hostess who never showed up but at least a waitress sat us at a table. The food was good but definitely not great and not worth the price tag. Waiting staff were ok but inattentive at times and forgetful. The manager was attentive to all the guests around the restaurant including ourselves and he definitely made the effort to make things right. The impression I'm left with, Teatro may have been a great restaurant but it seems to have lived on its name for a bit too long and will slowly disappear if some changes aren't made soon. We live outside of the city so making a trip downtown and to find parking just adds to the list of why I would have a hard time returning. Restaurants do have off nights so maybe this was one of them??

Went for the Big Taste festival and both the food and the service were amazing.

The food here is great, but the most noteworthy thing I want to publicly comment on is how easy to work with and understanding they've been with first our wedding planning and then second our unfortunate need to cancel our wedding due to COVID. We'll definitely be back when we re-schedule a reception after things clear up.

Classical Italian in a classic historic building, this is the premier Italian eatery in Calgary.

Beautiful ambiance. I would highly recommend this restaurant for the quality of food and customer service. I went to teatro for my 4 year anniversary and there were some minor things that went wrong. My girlfriends 3rd course tasted a little too smoky and they offered to make us a new plate. They also catered our dietary preferences. The Calgary experience menu consists of 5 courses. Absolutely beautiful presentation, good flavour, and very different. The staff were extremely friendly and my girlfriend teared up a little when she tasted the mascarpone dessert. Definite worth the price point.

I'm only leaving a review on there reservation services - trying to book a date for our office Christmas dinner (party of 8). Wow! shocked that you can't call to reserve till November 21st!!!! Because they want to leave the restaurant open for full venue bookings?!?!?! I am very surprised with that decision with how our Calgary economy is especially how last year many didn't have event bookings for there business Christmas parties. Why can't the restaurant designated a Saturday evening for smaller businesses. Guess my review would be different if our Dr. had more staff to fill there venue.

Great party venue, very nice little patio space if you visit in the summer. Attentive staff and a well stocked bar.

This is the first restaurant my fiancee and I chose to visit once some of the covid-19 restrictions had been eased, and it did not disappoint! Service was great and food was excellent. We shared the eggplant and my fiancee had the tagliatelle as a main and I had the carne special which was lamb prepared 3 different ways. As usual we left (very) stuffed and satisfied!

Best restaurant in Calgary. Service, ambiance, location and food are outstanding. Been many times and never disappointed. Wine list is unbeatable in the city. Incredible selection. 10/10

I'll get it out of the way. The food here is delicious. The restaurant is filled with delicious smells right when you walk in.

The service is okay, but I wouldn't blame the servers, because also in the restaurant was the most entitled, obnoxious group of men I have ever seen. The group of 7 or 8 (it was hard to count because many of them kept disappearing for long periods of time) were loud, rude, and drunk. Why they were allowed to bring in a case of wine, I don't know. On top of that they were completely disinterested in social distancing or masks. I have no idea why management allows tables like that to take over there restaurant.

I won't be back. This restaurant is clearly not interested in social responsibility regarding alcohol OR pandemics.

Had our 5 year Wedding anniversary dinner here as we originally had our reception at teatro back in 2012. I mentioned it when booking the reservation and that staff were amazing! Greeted with multiples congratulations and some champaign to start the evening, we enjoyed the 6 course meal and ended the night with a nice happy anniversary cake and sparkler provided by Teatro

rigatoni carbonara was decent but nothing spectacular.

Fine dinning with very high quality food. An excellent choice for a relaxing night out with your other half.

When you walk in it is breathtaking, coats are taken and off to your table. We ordered beer & wine you are paying way too much for the amount (if we where lucky) 4 oz. maybe 5 oz. of wine same goes for the amount of beer you get. One piece of bread, now I can see we don t want waste but offering of a second piece would have been nice...the mains presentation looks good but the quality of meats served is not there. Grisly & fatty are not good for an upscale restaurant. Service was ok but we where in a busy middle of the room area & the bartender was our server, well they have a double job, trying to serve us and tend bar for the whole restaurant. I can say the appetizers and desserts where very good. Pick it up a notch, don t worry on how the napkins are folded if the person leaves the table, make sure the quality of the food and the service is better organized.

We went there for my spouses birthday and the staff went above and beyond to make sure it was a special occasion. Our server Malcolm was just the right amount of attentive and was very friendly and professional.
Patrick recommended a fantastic bottle of Syrah based off the profile we described liking to him. Hit the nail right on the head, think we might have found a new favourite!

Disgusting! Service was.. worse than anything you will ever experience. I don t know if it was profiling, but we waited 45 minutes for our beverages alone, an hour and a half for food and appetizers, then sat for another 45 minutes for the plates to be cleared!!!. They were surprised we wanted the bill ASAP when they finally came around.
I was embarrassed to have brought a cousin who flew in for his birthday here. Food was so underwelming. Pork belly was over cooked, with a burnt exterior and tough interior. I would have thrown it out... but no one even came back for a bite check. Their vegetables were potato s.. which were very under seasoned.. very cheap selections on all plates so you aren t getting close to your value $$. Scallops had 0 flavour, but at least cooked well. Worse restaurant we ve ate at.

We came for dinner to celebrate a birthday. This was our second time visiting. First visit was for Valentines day.

Valentines dinner was unbelievable. Food was amazing, service was great, left very full. Overall a memorable night.

However, this time was very different. The food was just alright. Service was ok..we left not feeling as full or satisfied. Our personalized dessert for the birthday which we were expecting wasn't delivered . It was definitely a disappointment in comparison to our first experience.

I don't really see us returning to be honest..for the price, would rather eat at Hy's on Stephen Ave

I hadn't been in to Teatro in a long time, but decided to make a booking for my Birthday. The service was on point and the food was all incredible. I will definitely make an effort to come in more often as it is well worth it. Thanks to the staff for an incredible evening!

Attended this restaurant as part of a group product training. The food was delicious. The location and building are beautiful. Parking was available across the street in a parking structure.

Gorgeous fancy place. I wouldn't eat here if you have gluten or garlic intolerances because it is very expensive and they don't offset the cost of the dish when they remove over half of it, but they did their best to accommodate me and I appreciate it. Gorgeous presentation of their dinners and desserts.

Excellent steaks, best in town, also the most expensive in town.

For medical reasons, I do not drink wine or cocktails anymore, only beer. They look me as a strange animal. From there I felt like in second class. They asked me 3 times during dinner if I was sure about no wine. I ordered lamb. The flavor was Ok, too dry and presentation was not the best. Teatro used to be a awesome place.

As always, a fantastic meal and service to celebrate a special occasion.

One of the most stunning buildings in Calgary. Consistently excellent food, with a good range of food on their menu. The $25 three course business lunch is very affordable based on the quality of food, quality of service and beautiful ambience.

Recommended highly had an amazing time from the minute we entered from taking out jackets to ending the night with amazing desserts loved the atmosphere loved the food i had only one fault that was my last meal before the night we had the sirloin food was amazing probably due to the busy night being Valentine's day the presentation was not what i expected but other then that will be returning for another yummy meal thank you very much for the amazing time.

I have been coming here once in awhile. Lovely place, excellent service and great food. They are very attentive and just want to please you. Some of the food is somewhat different from other places and I like that. The infusion of flavors is an excellent blend to the taste buds.

Great decor and wonderful experience. First class service from the staff and the food was amazing! Super open and airy design makes it one of the more relaxing restaurants in Calgary.

Teatro lives up to its reputation. The decor is absolutely outstanding. You feel like you're immersed in a New York artdeco atmosphere. The service was fantastic, right from the beginning. The wild mushroom risotto was one of the best I had. Smooth texture, nutty flavours. The Caprese salad was beyond our expectations. They do indeed take pride in working with be best ingredients. As for the dessert, I never order Tiramisu in Calgary because it is always a disappointment. This one was one of the best I had in my life, and I did have some really great ones in Italy.
Small details like the bread and the olive oil made the entire dining experience truly specials.
I would suggest the management to consider including some more affordable options on their wine cart. The price range starts at 70-80 per bottle. But they do indeed have an impressive wine list.

Everything other than the server I had was exceptional!! Definitely would come back as long as I didn't have the same girl serving me.

The decor is grandiose as much as the food. Their mushroom on a toast appetizer was so delicious, the brie cheese was melted perfectly. Fish meal was also perfect. I was very impressed with their wine list, lost of possibilities by the glass. I will definitely come back.

Top shelf ambience available from a long standing Calgary restaurant. Teatro boasts an extensive wine list, and a well dressed Sommelier to assist with pairings. Service is excellent, what one should expect from a restaurant with of this tenure. Ingredients are well sourced and fresh. The fantastic pasta dishes impressed by illuminating depths of flavours, without being obnoxious. Duck is cooked perfectly but lacks the reciprocity in flavor guarded by the pasta. Prices are not outrageous, with entrees beginning in the low thirties.

Absolutely adored it here. Beautiful and modern - was attending an engagement party friday night and was amazed with the attentiveness and level of service from the staff. 10/10

Absolutely wonderful restaurant , servers were lovely and chef Dan made us amazing food ! We had reservation just in case as it is popular spot . Cocktail and wine menu are wonderful with very good selection and even section for vegetarians was pretty good size even tho we had meat . Open concept kitchen makes it more special .

We dined at Teatro Ristorante last night for my girlfriend's birthday. The service was outstanding. The decor was breathtaking. The atmosphere was very European. Classy without being pretentious. I had the Tagliatelle and she had the Seafood Lasagne. Both dishes were equisite. Flavorful and the perfect portion size. You must try the Berloni Creme Brulee..it melts in your mouth..absolutely a must have.

This is officially my favorite dinner restaurant in Calgary. I loved everything about my experience the other day. Service was fantastic. Hostess was friendly and offered to store my coat and gym bag. They even provided me a stool just for my purse! Waitress was knowledgeable and attentive. Really impressive wine selection, and everything on the menu looked good making it really hard to order. I like the open concept kitchen where you can watch the chef's cook, surprisingly it wasn't too loud. The bread they serve with dinner is so good I even asked for seconds even though I never do that. Good for couples and groups

Everything was excellent. Tagliatelle was delicious and the sauce was very rich. Calamari was delicious (not sure how they get it so crumbly). Wife had the halibut special which was also excellent. The desserts were a perfect way to top off the meal(had the strawberry cheesecake and the Lemon merengue desserts), both also delicious. Expensive? Yes, but you get what you pay for at Teatro.

Beautiful restaurnant and delicious food. We got a new waiter I believe, because he didnt seem experienced. He didnt know details of the menu and came over too often. Otherwise, he was very nice and polite and so were the other members of the restaurant. Me and my husband celebrated our 1st year anniversary and it was amazing. The wine list is spectacular and they even have an in house sommelier!

Just a quick bite before the cpo, the staff were gracious informed and attentive. The sous vide serloin Smokey tuna aioli and crispy olives were good and the tomato sponge brought them together for greatness. The glass of merlot was a perfect match. Just black coffee, hot and flavourful, was a great paring to the tiramisu.
