The Teatro Real de San Carlo, known as Teatro San ...

The Teatro Real de San Carlo, known as Teatro San Carlo is a traditional theater and opera house, located in Naples, Italy, has a neoclassical style building and is considered the oldest theater in Europe still in operation, was founded by Carlos III of Spain and was inaugurated on November 4, 1737, with an opera based on the life of the famous poet and playwright Metastasio.
At the time, this was the largest opera house in the world with 3,300 seats, the main hall of the Teatro de San Carlo was built in the shape of a horseshoe, typical of classic Italian theaters and its decoration gained intensity thanks to the red and gold that were dominant colors, on the ceiling there is an impressive painting of 500 square meters, dedicated to Apolo and Minerva.
The new theater was much admired for its architecture, gold decoration and blue upholstery, which was the official color of the Bourbons, due to its historical and cultural importance it was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

Oldest concert house in Europe Wonderful theatre. Both to visit and to listen to a concert. Magnificent concert hall with a great acoustic. It is Reccomended to get a box on the upper floors of the hall, for 5 euro per person more, and therefore get a better view. Guided tours are often, but can get very crowded, and annoying, since other people talk, which can be heard very loudly. Great tour and concert. Reccomended.

ITA: It is one of the oldest opera houses closed in Europe and the world still active, having been founded in 1737 and one of the most capacious theaters of the Italian peninsula. It can accommodate 1386 spectators. It is a sight for the sight and for the heart. It is exciting to see all that magnificence and harmony in a theater. And knowing his story between kings and queens really makes the heart beat. Go all to visit it.

It is worth a visit and is also close to many other monuments such as the Galleria Umberto and the Maschio Angioino and also Via Toledo, one of the shopping streets of Naples. Worth a visit!

In Naples for a few days, unfortunately we could only admire it with a guided tour and not in full of its functions. However, the great passion of the guide combined with a place that is magical, has meant that the path has become a continuous emotion. Recommended for those who want to immerse even for an hour in a unique atmosphere. The guided tours are at fixed times during the day, at a price all in all content.

I only gave three stars because the ride was reduced compared to two years ago, the theater deserves 5.
Too bad it's already the second time I visit it and now having reduced the lap they don't even show the real stage anymore.
Bad decision by the manager, I insisted on being able to see it as the first time and I was silenced by the guide.
Such a poor visit is NOT worth the 9 of the Ticket ... very disappointed !!!
