I saw the wonderful Zikovsky "Nutcracker" ballet here!
My Hotel was right next door and I got to see the Premiere of The Barber of Seville in February 2016. Magnificent theater with beautiful details. Very kind staff and an experience I will love forever!
Historic theater for lovers of classical music in the center, just a short walk from Termini station and the metro. Well-preserved structure and friendly, helpful staff for finding their place. Internal bar and large entrance hall. Good acoustics and management and hall lights.
Theater that deserves to be seen even just for itself
If any city or country is known for opera and music then it is Rome, Milan and Italy. The appearance of the opera gives the impression of a country with a high level of culture.
I went to see 'The Nutcracker' in the front row of the audience. WONDERFUL !! Very kind staff. I honestly expected the music to be heard more intensely. The only big problem being able to find a place for the car (as usual), I recommend moving by metro.
The Teatro dell'Opera di Roma is one of the Italian temples of opera and ballet, which in the summer moves with programming to the Baths of Caracalla. The productions often appear contemporary and experimental on a classic libretto, with solutions that are sometimes unthinkable that arouse impressions and emotions. Impeccable organization, first by textbook, reviewed by the specialized press
Nice show but not exceptional as a review. Uncomfortable gallery seats.
A building work of art worth visiting, especially if it is foreign, to get a strong taste of Italian culture. Ideally watching an opera show, even if you are not a fan of the genre before ...
Nice nice nice!!!! A museum theater, the home of opera that transports the mind to another era! Recommended!
Good acoustics. Inconvenient, saggy chairs ...
Swan Lake - not in Rome again ...
initiative Usufruisco reserved for under 26. Beautiful theater for lovers of bel canto.
Those who are on the side without expensive seats
Be the first place unconditionally
I didn't know how to do it but I did not see the stage even though I was stuck with foreign families.
I saw two shows: enough. Never again. Bad directors, mutualists soloists and a choir with people mumbling words or not singing, the orchestra a band. Directors ... directors? Fans. Who is the superintendent, Senator Razzi?
Massimo in Rome for classical ballets, operettas, lyric.
I just saw a nice version of The Nutcracker! Good program 2016, excellent acoustics! Worth the ticket price.
A short tour of the opera house, a somewhat more modern Italian lodge theater. If you are interested in opera, I recommend a visit.
You won't find the big productions with well-known top singers there, but you can also spend a great evening like this.
Fantastic works and very good singers very prepared and a unique symphony to listen to
If you are in Rome and you love opera it is absolutely worth visiting
It is a place, let's say english way .... warm and welcoming .... you can also notice the professionalism of the staff who pamper and pamper you in an excellent way! .... congratulations to the chef and all the staff! .... truly top .... it has been a long time since I drank such a good cocktail !!!
Superb moment!
La Traviata by Sofia Coppola
Atmospheric atmosphere, marvelous work: a real enchantment for all the senses!
Beautiful and relaxing to spend an evening dedicated to art.
Only problem, from the balcony it is difficult to avoid the columns and the balustrade. Here it is from row II place 22
The Dell opera theater always has a special charm. The traviata was stupendous.
Nice show but theater staff extremely rude and arrogant.
Great experience, we saw Rigoletto. It was excellent, very good acoustics, a high level game, the conductor's mannerisms. The hall is impressive and appealing. We sat in the gallery upstairs and saw excellent. Worth to go, the cost in the gallery is reasonable and can be purchased at the Opera House site. The only drawback, in the whole hall, is a small place for the legs. In short, do not miss the experience of opera in Rome. That's where it all started, is not it?
Along with La Sala (Milan) and San Carlo (Naples) conforms the triad of Opera houses in the land of the Bel Canto.
An unforgettable experience. For the value of the opera represented and the structure of the theater, to leave breathless.
Compact and pleasant theater. I saw a good "sleepwalker", and the rest of the bill seemed up to par.
The artistic quality is excellent, the decor can be improved and the staff's professionalism can be improved somewhat.
One obvious thing: don't come by car. The metro stops a few steps away.
A historic theater from 1880 with one of the best acoustics.
It has the largest crystal chandelier in the world.
As Richard Gere said in that famous movie ... "Opera is loved or not appreciated, you can only learn to appreciate it if you do not understand it, but if you love it instead: LOVE YOU FOREVER. Opera Traviata love her forever, and Opera Theater ... also! <3
I had time to watch the ballet
There was only an opera with a history and I was able to spend an elegant time
The theater is beautiful but it needs to be put in place, very narrow armchairs with really old upholstery coverings
The opera house in Rome. You can see the best representations in a refined and rich in tradition environment.
I attended the ballet "The Nutcracker": pleasantly modern scenography and choreography, very good dancers ..... a show not to be missed. Congratulations also to Eleonora Abbagnato.
Definitely worths of taking a guided tour inside the Rome's Opera theatre. Interesting, wonderful, informative.
Excellent production of Manon in superb location. Beautiful theatre and helpful staff make this an unforgettable experience
Beautiful theater, excellent acoustics. Tonight The Nutcracker. Full house
unique place, beautiful the work was a beautiful thing I recommend you go see it
Impressive history and art that is breathed inside.
Provincial. Spartan. No frills, but worthy. And with a good program. Going forward
With profound disappointment and great regret I must underline how inappropriate and groundless this effort is to modernize operas.
It is typical of Italians not to accept their own traditions and to deny their cultural foundations.
I witnessed 'La Traviata' amazed by the out-of-date and strident twentieth-century clothing and setting with the nineteenth-century plot of the work, a 'Tosca' where the firing squad of the last act was dressed in a black fascist militia shirt , to a 'Cavalleria Rusticana' updated with a duel between Alfio and Turiddu with the fascist fez.
Out of place unacceptable and inadmissible.
Perhaps they have forgotten to study the fundamental bases of Italian culture and history that prompted Giuseppe Verdi to write his romantic music (he will turn to the grave) or have forgotten the importance of the historical period when 'Tosca' was held at the beginning of '800 or' Cavalleria Rusticana 'from the realist period in the early 1900s.
While in America and in the East people, very far from culture, appreciate opera and its scenography, in Italy we want to deny what has been the history and cultural traditions.
Young people will never know the true lyric and do not complain if the Italians go to theater with difficulty and have lost interest.
This model of presentation of the works in Caracalla for Japanese and foreign tourists, who find in the hotel the already packaged tourist package, offers Italy a distorted, incomprehensible and anti-historical image to satisfy the ambitions of people with a culture confined to political fields who want to impose their interpretation beyond a lack of democracy and the denial of what were the traditions and the history of the 'Beautiful Country'.
It is true that Italians have no self-respect.
Don't complain if the theaters close or go on only with public funding and if so many people desert this type of show.
Aleandro Tinelli
Modern of external architecture but within atritempi
They see ballets and concerts. go there
An institution that is part of the history of the city. It would not hurt a renovation to the bathrooms and the dressing area. In comparison with other theaters that invited artists of equal importance seems to me a bit 'expensive. Not very well the workers ... choir and orchestra.
Absurd ticket management: tickets are available online for individual works, but not season tickets, which apparently can only be bought at the box office. However, it is only open from 9 to 6 ...
A special place that offers many emotions and a true monument not only historical but of the culture of Rome
If you know Opera don't read this, but if you don't you should: this is the one place where you can enjoy a live mass scene.
It could be cleaner externally, but since it is a comings and goings of people who lingers and eats and dirty, they should put larger and more numerous buckets
