A local theatre that never ceases to impress. Built on the 19th century, it's a gathering point for Modena's cultural elite (just about anybody who can appreciate fine arts, really). The theatre may have a limited scope compared to Bologna, but it offers a great balance of ballet, opera and concerts. It's more than enough for a town of 180,000.

Scenographic and beautiful theater. The "Andrea Chenier" was well sung wonderfully and the orchestra was also made up of excellent musicians. The beauty is that people of all ages attended the show, from the eighties to the age of sixty and then to go down to high school boys. Magnificent! Sublime atmosphere!

Good theater with its own acoustics and up to all the works. Unfortunately the municipality of Modena does not use enough funds in the theater so the offer of works is somewhat limited. The chorus of white voices from the theater is of a high standard.

It is one of the theaters where you can still see works (not all) represented in a traditional way, as the authors thought; unfortunately in many other theaters the works are no longer of those who set them to music and librettists, but of directors and set designers.

During the initiative "A SCENE OPEN" - Meetings in the historic theaters of Emilia Romagna organized by the Institute for cultural and natural artistic heritage of the Emilia Romagna Region we were able to participate in the guided tour inside the "secrets" of the theater.
Led by the talented Elisa we went from the stalls to the gallery, collecting interesting information on the history of the theater and its hidden internal mechanisms.
The scenography room is beautiful, usually not visible to theater-goers.
An interesting and valuable experience.

Beautiful theater with a neoclassical facade and a horseshoe plan with four tiers of boxes and a gallery. Dedicated to opera since its inauguration in 1841, since 2007 it has been dedicated to the Modenese tenor Luciano Pavarotti.

It is the most important theater in Modena, with an excellent program. The armchairs are comfortable and the acoustics are excellent. It can be visited by booking a guided tour at the IAT Visit Modena and the visit is highly recommended.

Municipal Theater Luciano Pavarotti. Italy full of splendid theaters. Modena is one of the most interesting: built in the mid-nineteenth century it has always crossed a very lively and fertile musical and lyrical culture that animates the people of these areas. More recently it is associated with the figure of the great tenor Luciano Pavarotti, especially at the beginning. The theater is a very interesting work in neoclassical style with beautiful friezes and decorations, all of which flows into the beautiful elliptical stalls. Excellent acoustics. It should be visited.

It is a small but well kept theater. The unmistakable style places it among the most beautiful buildings in Modena. And the fact that it is named after the great Pavarotti makes it unique for his city.

I love this theater particularly because it is an ancient theater, the furniture and the walls all speak of him..Pavarotti..Incoming it seems to immerse oneself in an atmosphere of the eighteenth century and suddenly the frenetic world closed behind.
The colors, the lights, the large chandelier in the center and most importantly the super acoustics .. I recommend to those who have never been to go and see when this theater is suggestive ..

I attended the Carnival of the Animals, last Sunday, by Camille Saint Sains.
Beautiful show with the Orchestra Senza Spine of Bologna, directed by Matteo Parmegiani, on pianos Pietro Beltrani and Marco Rizzello, narrating voice and direction by Andrea Acciai, poems by Chiara Carminati. Representation and enchanting performances. Almost perfect acoustics. Courteous dining staff. A fascinating theater in a wonderful city.
