TD auto insurance managed to get me a great rate on my car insurance when I moved to Nova Scotia. They saved me almost $1000! Their service was really friendly and helpful, despite being over the phone. I have never been put on hold "waiting for the next representative". Best insurance provider for Nova Scotia for sure.

After 2-3 days of several hours each listening to recorded music in an attempt to pay my home and auto insurance, I found another company that did answer the phone. Set up insurance with them, and then sent a registered letter to TD cancelling both policies. Companies that won't answer the phone for literally a total of 7-8 hours on hold raise a red flag for me that they probably are having financial difficulty.
IF you go this route, make SURE you register the letter or some weeks after your due date they will cancel your policy for non-payment. This is BAD for your credit rating. Legally, once you drop a registered letter off to Canada Post, it's deemed delivered on that date.
7-8 hours of my time is worth more than the cost of a registered letter.

I was on hold for an hour yesterday then they were transferring me to another office and hung up on me. They had my number and could have called back. I called back, was on hold for two hours and still no response which, by that time, offices had closed. I still have been unable to speak with anyone.
