Never experienced such bad service, Purchased a property where a deck has been extended without consent, decided to do the write thing and find out what was required, a COA I was told, $1455 of fees spend so far, then to be told also need resource consent why, because even though the council records say the property is only 120sq it turns out these records are wrong and its 160sq, at least another $1000 wanted and written permission from neighbors, permission supplied but no, now need a form to be filled out by the neighbors, building inspection done today which failed even though a previous council employee looked at the deck and mentioning nothing about more piles required, even though saying it was a good job, and yes now also need building consent, More application fees. All for a small deck extension. Its not so Much the money but the continuing changing of the goal posts and each department has a different story. Taking it further

Having moved to Taupo in the recent months and starting my own business - Taupo district council and the team working there have been very helpful, understanding and thorough with opening up the right doors to the right people to get me where I am today! They have given me the correct guidance and if there was anything that I did not quite understand they were happy enough to explain and show me the right way. Thank you Taupo District Council
One of the ticket officer is too rude. She don t have a sense to talk with the person.
