Ice Carving Festival was nice and interesting! Just big enough for a good show but not too far that you freeze before you can get back to the warming place.

One of the best event areas in the local area. Always a good time with plenty of free parking.
The food is good and it's always fun to see people I know.
Alaska state fair in fairbanks typical nothing spectacular OK for a walk around
So we love the fair and all the shops and food vendors. I just wish they had better rides. 30 dollars seems like a great deal for a wrist band and you can ride as many rides as you want but the lines are crazy with wait times as long as 45 minutes per ride. I think next year well take the kids to the carnival since they seem to have better rides and go to the fair for the food and shops. It's just to bad they cant have the better rides
Rv sites looked nice and well trees. However we got there after the office was closed and it wasn't very late. Near dinner time. You can sign in yourself which is nice but they have a pin code to washroom and for wifi. We couldn't stay because we needed wifi as we don't have data being from out of country and couldn't call either or would cost us money. So we didn't want to pay for no wifi or use of washroom. Sad we missed out. Looked nice.
Good state fair. Lots to see and do. Good food selections
The bathrooms and trash looks amazing this year. So clean! And no trash on the grounds. Incredibly hardworking staff! Whoever ran the show this year really knew how to take care of business!
And the grass looked fantastic!! No one has ever mowed that out before!
Owner......... booting me for no reason then letting others in... besides that not worth a penny. My brother is a purple heart veteran and served at the recruiting station there years ago. I wanted to take him there to walk around. Now no point.
I happened to be here in March for the International Ice carving Championship. Nice setting.
Decent amount of rides and shops. Great funnel cakes and fireworks!
Wasnt the world class ice art that it used to be thats what happens when bernie tries to monetize it for himself too bad so sad
It is amazing the Carnival does not get investigated for profiteering
Fairbanks number one largest Money Pit that happens every year. Just to let you know the food is only good on the first day maybe two any days after that you will be getting sick because they do not change their oil out so it is a 9 Day marathon of eating the same oil as the first day that they used to deep fry the food. I think that the food safety health inspector should get involved with what is being served out of the food vendors these large events, since the amount of food that is being purchased is that such a large quantity and how many people purchase food there.
Nice and clean, check in process was not smooth. Trash cans are dumped did not see transients walking through campground. New operators or managers since last year
Great place to park Motor home. Electrical plug in and had a shower house and place to do laundry. Affordable as well
Love the fair but today I was just waiting for Buddy to pick me up
Ice art festival 2019 was okay. Ice sculptures were amazing as usual but the event keeps getting smaller. We were just frustrated that we paid all that money and they didnt have the slides finished. What a waste of money. Call ahead if you have kids and want slides!
Fun Fair!! Great vendors with awesome food and stuff. Changes every year, go often. Good amusement rides too.
It's gone down hill over the years with the prices going up on everything, 1 ride 2 tokens about 5$ each token.
The fair is the culmination of a long winter of crafts, handiwork and of course the summers bountiful gardening harvest. The local 4H and adults proudly show off their animals, and an market animal auction. They have a VIP showmanship where local celebrities and politicians are pared up with a youngster and their animal, culminating in a hilarious attempt to show the animal and answering questions about them. A multitude of vendors of just about anything you'd like, fair food delights, and entertainment from out of town and local bands, fair acts, comedians, dancers etc.
Finally there is a large Midway for all your rides.
A do not miss whether you are local or tourist.
It's a small, fun Fair. Watching the cranes fly over at night was great.
Nice, friendly people. Very welcoming atmosphere and folks very down to earth. No nonsense community that value all they have and are extremely practical. Nice place to hang out.
Very nice place for your family to have some fun and also try different foods plus everyone smile's
This fair is always fun. Not as big and crazy as the Alaska State Fair. It has more of the small town fair feel. Always great food too!
I lost my debit card while at the fair, it was turned in by a very honest person. That was a great way to end the day at the fair! good was great!
Note that most reviews concern the Fair and not the RV park.
RV park: nice RV sites in the little forrest, individual RV sites separated by trees. The facilities were a bit simple, but very clean with free showers and cheap washers and dryers. Free wifi, that even reached our RV (the manager on duty said it wouldn't). Good price and good value. Very close to the Museum of the North. Can recommend the place and would give it 4-5 stars if the facilities were a bit newer.
The fair seems to not be as awesome as when I was a kid. But they had more options for kids this year.
My biggest complaint is that most of the booths selling items were owned by one person. And their workers didn't seem to know what haggling is.
But the food booths are always amazing.
This group has been managed badly for over a decade. Vendors be warned- they don't bother trying to attract draws anymore. They even found a cheaper vendor for carnival rides a few years ago and that went over with the people like a lead zeppelin
The local fair with maybe a few problems. Still a Fairbanks tradition and a good time for family fun. There has been some problems with the costs and some bad press but overall a pretty fun time.
It was nice, not gonna lie was a tad bummed they wouldn't let me on the zipper by myself but whatever. Super fun super family friendly.
Best fair of the year ;) i think this year is the best , variety of foods and shows.
Hot Showers. Clean Laundromat. Flush toilets. Sink for washing dishes. Dump station.
Amazing place to visit right after the Ice Sculpting World Championship and spend the day, long walk in the wood where all the sculptures are, the warm up room is very authentic, don't expect modern facilities here, you may want to pack your own food, snacks, Hot Dog and Chili are available, but the sleigh for free is great for adults and kids! the out door Game Room is a blast! Going at night is cool too with the light through the ice...
Review for RV and Campground: NO GO !!!
Dirty toilets and showers! Just gross! I haven't seen anything like this in a long time. The plots themselves are very shady, but are roughly OK. So if you don't want to use sanitary facilities ... nevertheless: everything here looks like a descent ...
It's an carnival for all ages last for about a week once a year in August with great food, rides, clothes, barns of animals. Excellent for the families to spend time or what not. Also band musician. . .
Awesome family and friends festivity that has been a tradition to attend yearly. The food is so amazing!!
Nice place but roads were not big enough and the gravel was too wet and slushy for the trucks in the RVs to drive on without getting stuck.
Lots of handcrafted things to see, experience the Alaskan way.
horrible fair nothing exciting or new not even enough to see to justify the money spent to get in
Only open during early august and has great food selection
Came into town late and the office was closed so we couldn't get a spot. Stupid move on your part.
Not to cluttered with random booths but needs an updated map with current booths and companies that are there. Took me 45 mins to find a booth that was in a corner because it wasn't listed.
A good amount of vendors and a variety of food options. Admission price is fairly standard and parking is free. There is also a rodeo, rides, and games. It's a very family friendly event. But plan to bring an umbrella as it usually rains.
Ice carving festival 2019. Thank you Niki for taking mom around in the snow cat so she could see the sculptures. We got the Ice Princess Ttreatment. So nice. The warming tent was fun, warm, good gifts, nice food. I came back at night for a quick peek with the lights. I LOVED the slides, maze, and spinning cups for kids. More!
Full of mosquitos and garbage. Owners not attentive to patrons needs.
Its really fun for and it's great to go with friends and really good food
