Tahoe Ridge Winery, Marketplace & Bistro Review

A+ great to work with the executive chef/event planner Howard. He is awesome. The staff is great too, and always remember our names. Smart and accommodating and the restaurant is lovely. Our favorite place in Minden. We have been coming here for happy hour, for dinner, and now I had my reception here last month and it was amazing.More affordable than I anticipated, decorated perfectly, and all the food was fantastic. My guests and my wedding party and I had a great time. I will be back soon for another happy hour!

We have gone by the place a 100 times and always wondered about it.
IT IS NOW MY FAVORITE PLACE.
You have to walk thru the little market of wine, oils and vinegars and Gifts to get to the Restaurant area. In that area is a Bar for wine tasting (and of course eating) and a small area of tables for diners. We had come for dinner. They had some Fall specials that looked Yummy But were already out of a couple, however I had the ''Roasted Pumpkin" pizza that was really good and my partner had the Panmole (similar to panzanella Italian Salad) which also was very good. The wait staff are really friendly and helpful, and they all shared looking after customers.
All in all - I want more of this place and try all the goodies on the menu.

Received notification of Dec. 2015 wine club offering. Left numerous msgs. on phone answering machine to confirm hours. No return call. Web site down. Finally located COO Tom King's number and left msg. He returned my call in a rude, lecturing, patronizing manner. I went to the Bistro to pick up our wine, only to be met by Mr. King, again in a rude manner. In times past we have had numerous fine meals at the Minden location. We've also enjoyed the wine. Since closing the Minden Bistro, moving to Carson City, firing former manager Howard, the Tahoe Ridge Winery has been going down hill. My info is that the Bistro will be closed for 3 months if not longer. Even if it does open again, we will not be customers and have cancelled our wine club membership.

Great wine, better food, well worth a trip down the hill from tahoe for some good chow and good time.

Extremely LOUD and extremely slow service.
We were seated in the atrium and the acoustics in there amplified every single noise, it was so loud we couldn't hear anything. The server didn't know the specials or didn't tell them to us and we had to wait a long time just to get water. Then we had to wait an hour and 15 minutes before they finally brought us our food. How long does it take to make 2 tiny Caesar salads and a bowl of pasta? The pasta cabonara did taste pretty good but it wasn't worth the money. The sandwiches were also expensive and didn't come with fries, you had to order them separately for $8! Overall it was expensive, loud, and no ambiance.

Absolutely love this place. Great food, wines, full bar. Couple of rough edges staff wise, but one of my favorite dining spots in the valley. I can bring my wife for a nice date night or bring the whole family...it's all good! Suggestion: lose the phone system. Calling you guys is like trying to call a utility company or government office...very frustrating!
