Love my alma matter to death. I learned so much here, both in and outside of the classroom. I always recommend Syracuse to my best students.

Thank you, S.U., for a wonderful learning experience!

Make sure you come prepared to pay for everything that sells for top dollar on the SU campus. For example eating in the Schine Center. Everything is really overpriced at SU. Not just the tuition. I am unsure why since Nancy Cantor when Chancellor sent out an email to all alumni saying SU had surpassed it's one BILLION fund raising goal but was still taking donations! NOTE: BILLION, not million. That was the fundraising goal for that year only. It's annual fund raising goal. Most of the people at SU do not come from rich families. Just the opposite.

If you are a student looking to find out information about this school, expect to have a rude individual answer the phone. Don't know if she was having a bad day or not but I had a question regarding expenses of going to this school and how I was talked to on the phone was very upsetting and not at all welcoming. When I was transferred to HR to talk about my questions was when I was talked to politely and without spite. I was almost in tears from how rudely the initial person who answered the phone spoke to me. She talked to me as though my questions didn't matter and as though I was just annoying her or taking up her time and didn't even ask me to be transferred, she immediately sent me to HR and cut me off. Very upsetting and just a bad impression of how the staff treats students here in terms of kids just trying to figure out if they want to attend this school or not or have questions about it. Gave 3 stars because lady at HR was so nice it made up for the 0 I would've given had she not been there to help me with my questions.

This school is absolutely horrible. I made it through one year before having to transfer. The university is situated in a bad area, such that I had to endure campus lockdown because there were shooters running around. Additionally, the girls are caddy and the teachers could care less about you and your success. Do not go here. That's all I can say.

I am not a student for the SU. I gave a 4 stars because I have been there for SU game and I liked it so much. Anyway, I was looking at the acceptance rate of Colorado state university and the rate btw SU and CSU us outrageous high. The acceptance rate of SCU is 77.4 while SU is 49.5 wow huge difference number. But I ask; Why?

I had great professors and excellent guidance. I think. I mean, it WAS the first half of the seventies!
Seriously though, I got everything I paid for, and more, from this great institution. The academic and extracurricular education and experience has served me extremely well and provided me with the ability to lead a happy and fulfilling life. What a great part of the country. The geography, the city, the history of the area, the geology (Love those drumlins!), the fantastic sports! What are you interested in? You can live it, and learn more about it, in Syracuse!
Syracuse made it possible for me to react to an ever changing environment, and reinvent myself. The education I received made me more adaptable, and in a world that has become evermore erratic, adaptability means success.

Syracuse is my hometown and I grew up loving the university as both of my parents are alum. I graduated from VPA and yes there are some pros and cons but school doesn't have good and bad. I must say I lucked out with my professors and advisor they were phenomenal and met some really great friends along the way. Overall I think it's great plus you can still utilize some services as an alum. Ohh yeah it is pretty cold and people are not exaggerating, it does snow 9 months out of the year there!

i give it one star because i had to but in my opinion the school is just not good overall. The academics sucks i feel because the teachers do not care about you. You are just another number to them. Also the price is ridiculous. Social work department is the most unprofessional with advisers who do not take the time to talk to you without scooting you out the door. Every other week I was harassed by some scary drunken frat guy. The weather sucks which is not SU's fault but overall the professors and staff are horrible.

An institution in Syracuse, SU's magnificent grounds & old architecture makes for a wonderful place of historical exploration (& famous well known graduates) & visual eye candy, especially in the fall. A true New York treasure. Go Orange!

My son is a recent Syracuse grad. From his first campus visit he felt a connection to this place. From his first day as a freshman through his last day at graduation, this school has given him great classes, amazing professors, lifelong friendships, travels to London, two final fours in four years. sleeping out in the cold for ten days before the sold out Duke game and many epic memories in the Carrier Dome. Syracuse University has so much to offer that smaller schools just don't. The campus is really nice and very well maintained. The finacial aid is great. The staff really helped him prepare for life after graduation as he had several job opportunities. My son loved Syracuse so much he decided to stay after getting a job right away. I can't say enough about this school. My whole family will forever "Bleed Orange". GO CUSE!

My Missions group stayed in some dorms here back years ago for a summer mission trip to the kids & familys surrounding. We did moral plays, choral performances and all kinds of things. It made me think College might not be so bad! You think "uncomfortable" with "leaving home" but it was great. I hope they put in ACby now. Gets warm at night in summer.
Oh...its absolutely beautiful in Syracuse! It reminded me of the Blue Ridge in NC. I think it's all Applichain. The city was alright. I didn't get loose to explore! But the beighborhoods, parks, family stuff was really sweet. Old houses upkept and all kinds of new friends! I've lost touch with my bestie...Trisha Rossignol. So if y'all know her. Tell her Amber Kitchen misses her and still has the same address.
Wow. I had a great time here. Thanks y'all!

I graduated in 1968. Revisited in 2010. Buildings were dirty. Elevator out of order. Old carpet, also in need of repainting. The old Archibald gym was sad, dark and old equipement.
Marshall street was not kept up. Open garbage cans. Cosmos Pizza was dark, filthy and had not had a good coat of paint in 20 years plus. I blame the Administration.
When I went it was all new, now its all old and dark and filthy. They are not keeping up the properties, yet the money keeps rolling in.

The cloudy days are second only to Seattle.. The culture and ambiance in Syracuse is rude, and cold.
If you are looking to come here, pick something else. I did not know better. You have the internet.
There is better weather in the South, better culture, better relationships and friendlier people and, hopefully, buildings that are cleaned, painted and in repair.

I am a Syracuse University employee working at Syracuse University getting my associates degree. The education I'm receiving at Syracuse University is second to none the professors are great and most of the friends I've made here are Syracuse University students friends that I will probably run into later in life the friends you make here are Syracuse University students from around the world, and some here in your own hometown, friends that you will make for life the professors are great they give you the tools you need for success in today's economy and in life and your own personal success. Going to Syracuse University to get an education is a blessing for me to be able to one day give back to my university in my community it's one of the best universities as far as a research school in the country, and their football team is pretty cool too.

The worst University I have come across. This Campus has an huge Racist Agenda, reported since 2011, with no changes.

I wouldn t recommend non-whites to attend, advised my family members to pass on this location as well.

If you aren t Native to this area, you ll catch it quite quickly. The City of Syracuse isn t accustomed to wealthy People of Color.

We travel to NYC, OFTEN!!! Praying for a transfer to an affluent area with Diversity, been here 7 years thus far.

I graduated class of 1978 BSEE. So what I say is likely a few administrations old. But having graduated, I became way more valuable to the job market. And after a few years my lousy grades didn't matter anymore. Syracuse was a good college experience, good social environment and partying (in my day 18 was the legal drinking age). But this was 40 years ago, so I can't say if Syracuse is the same or different now.

Even with the knowledge, grades and financial stability I still "refuse" to go to this school. After there public announcement of there racist acts(From school's phaternity, I feel tho' with acts as viscous as this. I would not be able to " focus at school; while wondering about my safety. For acts to happen right on campus, it proves in theory somethings going on ,within campus grounds underlying this racist attack given by at least 18 members of the school phaternity. I do note I've noticed, effort from the school trying to enforce the rules, however ( the school only did so after the fact, moreover after protest had been made publicly, cause a chain reaction in the media where the school was forced to take action. Thus futher, I would take a closer look into the right school you may be choosing.

I attended to Computer Engieering Program in LC Smith School of Engineering at Syracuse University. I hate it. I got psychological problems. I was taking 3 courses in one semester, I was only different person in class our of 100 total students. others of class consist of half Chinese and half Indian , and TA's also from china and india. Even TA's speaks in Chinese in Class for students that is ridiculous. You are like even in China or India like exchange student. I am not even talking about weather , it is hacking cold it starts from October to May snowy . As a result, if you go engineering department , I honestly say "Do not go because you cannot live in that people who are working together." but if you go some other department , do not go again because the cold weather will ruin your life. I changed my school after one year in school of engineering. It is such a worthless university and it is china.

The great university offering plenty of academic courses. It's among top 50-60 university of USA. I have given 5 star rating because my son has graduated from here. His experience was great. He got right guidelines from the professor as well as administrator from the concerned department. My has pursued in Masters in Computer science, been one of the topper in university & got placement in very good company there is US. I had been there to attend his convocation ceremony and met to his Professor..Was nice meeting with him. Overall good experience. Worth spending time and money to achieve higher education here.
