Excellent facilities for tennis, basketball, sqash swimming and other court sports like volleyball and badminton.
The kids swimming lessons have been superb over past few years we've been going
3 good quality squash courts. And apparently Lulu's spin class is the best.
Great basketball comp. clean facilities and nice staff, gym is versatile and not crowded, overall great center
In this place I can have handball training, a sport that I have practiced since childhood in my country and the Sydney Uni Club gave me the opportunity to continue practicing here in Australia. Also, here has many sports, take your sport and keep training.
PTs are not professional and attentive, and shower rooms are crappy. Gym equipments are just ok. However, consider the price and variety of classes offered, it is a bargain just can be improved better.
Swimming, badminton, futsal, squash, gym, it's all here
if you want to get fit, then this is the best place for you. overall this a place for me
Good place for exercises, they have pool, netball court, tennis court, squash, judo, gym quite big sport centre!
A couple of reception staff are too rude and arrogant to provide any customer service at all. They are only nice when trying to win new customers. When I asked for the staff's name (dark hair, square face, medium build) he walked away, while his "stand-in manager" Jacob said his colleague's name is "irrelevant".
It's a shame that the sports and aquatic centre of a university is run by such inexperienced staff with contemptible attitude. After causing troubles they disappeared or changed roster for a few weeks, then came back thinking everything would be fine.
My tennis lessons there are absolutely awesome. They're so clever and interesting in the way they teach and I have really improved.
I just joined this gym and am surprised they don't offer any orientation or even a walk through of the facilities. You are just expected to figure out where things are, if you can even get the staff's attention. They carry on personal conversations even if you are standing right in front of them, clearly waiting to served. The western avenue staff are much nicer but the gym is pretty depressing.
Very convenient and clean, especially the equipments. Usually crowded though but love their service.
I use the gym here regularly. Great facilities, good group fitness with a pool and tennis courts. Great value for money
Great community sporting hub for both adults and children.
Worst experience I have with any club. I called to book Tempe indoor soccer court, and they book for me wrong court inside (Sydney Uni Club). To make matters worse, they are rejecting to give me my money back. I keep sending emails to all managers on the club and no reply.
I play in the social mixed netball comp on Tuesday nights. Friendly staff, nice umpires, lots of fun. Courts are great but gets a little sauna like in the summer.
this is my gym and i love it, trainers are wonderful, experienced and helpful, various equipments, clean and modern dressing room, close to my home, and it's always open, unlike many other gyms, this place only close on xmas day (i think), which is a huge plus
Great facilities here, however... If you're not a student member, the prices are extortionate. So if you're a travelling and looking for gym facilities or a lap pool, you are going to be parting with $22 for a casual visit.
Plenty of gyms in the area offer free 5 or 7 day passes online.
One of the coolest spots in Sydney Uni, lots of equipment, nice, friendly and professional people. I am sure you will enjoy joining the SUSF
Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Excellent equipment in a very clean and tidy environment
Good facilities, poor parking options but that s not entirely their fault being in the city
Good facilities and not too busy. I mainly use the simming pool and gym, however there is are tennis courts, basketball courts, squash courts, fitness classes, judo classes, boxing classes etc.... Relative to other gyms in Sydney it is a little expensive.
I've been coming here since 1989 and the great customer service standards have always been excellent. There are a good mix of clientele; students, staff and community; women and men; and a range levels of fitness. The facilities are modern, clean and maintained. A great place to join for a good range of fitness needs
Pretty good basic gym. 2 squat racks, 1 bench, can make yourself 1 or 2 deadlift areas if you move some benches around.
Came here to play tennis on multiple occasions. Courts were so sandy, slipping around everywhere!
Friendly staff, great pool, and good changeroom facilities with keypad lockers. Cheap with the student discount, too!
If you don t have a membership, you need to pay $10 dollars each time you go to use their facilities. I mean use, not booked. My friend booked a badminton court and asked me to play, he was a member and I have been charged for 10 dollars when I get to the court, it is unreasonable and overpriced, not understand why I just play with my friend need to pay that amount of money. Don t go if you don t have a membership !
Similar prices to fitness first but if you live/ work close by, a great place
Being going here since Uni time. The gym has really expanded and all new equipments. If you haven't been for a while I suggest checking this place out.
Excellent sports facility with squash, tennis, swimming, gym, basketball courts etc. Very near to Redfern station. They also have a good Cafe inside and a sports shop where you can buy basic things like squash/tennis balls, swimsuits etc. They have limited parking available too.
Squash court review only: they are nice but need TLC, lighting is too dim and the floors are often slippery, they need to increase their maintenance cycle. Four stars for existing, as squash courts are dieing out in Sydney.
Great facilities with a good variety. From basketball/volleyball courts to squash and finally a swimming pool. Very clean. Cannot speak to the quality of the in house store or cafe however.
Great gym/ swim combo. Clean 50 m indoor pool. Well equipped gym. Best to visit off peak as it gets busy before and after the working day. Weekends are ok.
4 x ball courts. 5 x squash. 4 x ten is 1 x pool. Brilliant place
Super friendly and helpful staff, great facilities and they are constantly upgrading and changing their programs. I've read some reviews saying the staff never respond to emails but, I have actually found them to be super responsive.
I love uni gym so much!!!!!!i love all the trainers!!!
Love the swimming pool. It is not too cold. Staff are friendly.
Best gym ever have. Nice personal trainer and group fitness instructors
Been going for over 25 years. Mostly young people but room for us oldies. Best indoor pool
check out the senior fitness section. highly recommended with some of the best fitness trainers in the trade!!. I also heard they make some very good senior fitness brochures, which can be found on the displays at the entrace to this amazing facility
Courts not organised on time, could not warm up, negative attitude from staff. N.b this was for a University organised sporting competition.
Very busy in the pool, should improve the ventilation in the sports hall but good facilities and staff.
Good gym with lots of space. Can get very busy from around 1600.
My regular futsal competition location every Thursday. Nicely maintained basketball courts. It has a swimming pool and gym area and multiple change rooms.
Sydney University is one of the universities in the heart of Sydney it is located in Redfern it is a very good University which will give you that experience that you will need in almost any field. Regarding the University sports centre it has many courts for futsal judo karate and Taekwondo the futsal Court can be changed to basketball court they have also a swimming pool beside that they have a small place as a coffee shop and a small shop if you want to buy a summer sport clothes thank you
This is the best swimming pool in Sydney in my opinion, flexible hours and many lanes available if you choose your times wisely, Refer to their website for lane availability, Friendly and helpful staff, excellent facilities.
A great place to play sport, especially when associated with University of Sydney. The only area that needs bit of correction is the scoreboard, which is slow in updating itself, making it a little hard to gauge what the actual score is (especially if you think your team is winning). Otherwise it is a cool place to play.
Also the cafeteria is awesome too - some decent food choices are there! The only thing there is that tea and coffee is overpriced. I recollect a cup of peppermint tea was $4.50 when all they do is get a Twinings tea bag and load the glass with hot water.
Great relaxing venue to watch people exercise and get all sweaty LOL
Excellent facility for the gym, aquatic centre, court hire, etc..
Home of the Sydney Uni Boxing, Muay Thai and Grappling & Wrestling Clubs.
The facilities are great but the people that work there are some of the rudest people I ve ever been served by. It makes me never want to come back. Hope this is noted.
Good pool and facilities. They keep the pool nice and warm.
Great sporting facilities for students and public. Use the tennis courts
Mostly a very good place to play basketball. Costs are high but so is the quality. Ventilation and humidity can sometimes be issues though!
Bathroom floors are very dirty and restrict shower time while charging the same price as other gyms. Students don t get any discount cancel fee is also high. They also threaten me if I don t bring me student card to sign in I ll have to buy a new one.
Friendly staff, great facilities, lots of room in the changeroom and an indoor heated pool. Perfect for a few laps. Grab their pool calendar from the counter to check pool availability since water polo training takes up most of the pool space.
This gym and pool cooperates with the Fitness Passport program. I'll keep coming back.
