Ebi & yasai tempura ojyu is good but chicken teriyaki poke bowl is too small. The Rice is not enough, the meal is only half bowl, different from the menu. Overall the food is authentic and the price is reasonable. No Wi-Fi. The service is good. Set meals are no longer available. The food portion is getting smaller, could be improved. Good Japanese cuisine at Nu sentral mall, way than sushi zanmai and sakae sushi. The restaurant is big so seating is always enough.

sashimi was good, but the food was mostly average despite being medium-priced. little to no ambience as it was pretty noisy for a Japanese restaurant, coming from both workers and other customers and staff weren't very attentive. not a very good experience for the price you pay

Very good sushi. Always had dinner at this place. You can order ala carte or pick up from the conveyor belt. All food fresh made and very tasteful. Especially recommended if you stay at the Aloft hotel which is just a 50m walk away.

Quite disappointed with the quality of food here. They have a large selection of food available, however after we placed our order they informed us a few our dishes were not available. The quality of the food was below average and tasted old and dry. Would not return nor would I recommend.

Went there for lunch yesterday. Service was reasonably quick. The poker face who greets customers at the entrance wasn't so welcoming. To my surprise, the quality of food has dropped drastically compared to my last visit to this branch more than a year ago. Even my favourite dish - soft shell crab maki - tasted worse than the street food on Jalan Tun Sambanthan. It appears that the food quality across Sushi Tei outlets is on a steady decline over the past few years. The only Sushi Tei outlet still worth visiting is their first outlet in 3 Damansara (Tropicana City Mall). This used to be my favourite sushi franchise but not anymore...

This is a common japanese restaurant in Malaysia, where it tries to cater a wide range of japanese food.. from Bento sets to Shabu-shabu to tempura to Sashimi and more. ive always liked their lunch sashimi bento set as it was value for money, but recent changes have rendered those set lunches obsolete. The new stuff they have on the menu is the Poke Bowl! They taste as good as they look . Give it a try. lunch crowd is a bit crazy here, so expect some waiting time when you come here in groups.

Appalling service. The food in Sushi Tei s outlets have been deteriorating over the years, but what took the cake today for me was the terrible service and handling at the Nu Sentral outlet.

A family of 4 before me had been queueing for some time for a table, but there were several spaces at the counter I could have taken.

Upon my inquiry, the manager told me to wait for the family of 4 before I, 1 person, could be seated which baffles the mind. Do you really not want business that you can just let that slide?

After 10 mins, they told the family of 4 they couldn t serve them due to some downtime in the kitchen (what?). Then the family left. I was left waiting as I wanted to check if after 10 mins I could get the empty seats at a counter.

Someone came to me eventually after another couple of minutes, a nice Malay woman who told me I couldn t be served either. The extra star here is for her empathy and her professionalism, but not for her manager.

What a waste of time. Won t bother trying Sushi Tei ever again.

We were hesitant to eat here as the rating was low (3.6) but it was the only sushi near us that was affordable. Unfortunately you get what you pay for. We thought the meal was fine but both woke up the next morning with bad food poisoning. Don't come here if you don't want to be sick.

Great place for Japanese food. Find the dishes here tasty... using fresh ingredients.
Enjoy the regular Japanese food offered in the daily lunch promotion and curious to try their dishes. Great place for gatherings as it is located conveniently beside the malls.

Because of its location in the walkway between KL Sentral Station and Nu Sentral Mall, this branch seems to be perpetually packed, and during lunch hours on weekdays, there would be a long line lasting up to 30 minutes. However, there is a reason why this place is so popular. There are reasonably priced lunch and dinner meal sets that are a good portion. The food tastes fresh and is well-seasoned.

Despite the crowds on the Friday afternoon I was there, the manager/head was so polite. Even though customers were calling him midstride, he was still professional and courteous to explain what items were on the menu and responded speedily to our requests to top up the green tea. The food tasted great and all the waiters were efficient and alert.

I would definitely recommend anyone to come visit this Sushi Tei branch for a good casual Japanese dining experience.

Had a quick lunch at this place, arrived at about 12 noon, thus was able to grasp a place to dine in. Ala carte menu is quite complete with wide range of common Japanese dishes. It also offer bench seat for sushi conveyor option. Food taste is good, seats however is limited especially during lunch time of working days. Do come early for lunch during working day if you don't want to miss dining here.

Good variety available. Size of some dishes are getting smaller though - had the soft shell crab roll as one of the dishes, but they were much smaller in size. We arrived at Sushi Tei at around 7.40pm & it was packed as usual & we had to wait nearly 15 minutes to be seated. Overall, food was good.

I remember the last time I dine at sushi tei which was few years back at another branch, it was quite good. Unfortunately this round all the food we ordered taste very average. Almost everything not done to perfection. The texture of the buckwheat noodle is a bit mushy, tamagoyaki looks bland and taste wise is lacking of something, and I would prefer the chicken and egg don to be drier, and the tempura is a bit greasy. Tea is not refilled even though our cup is empty for sometimes, need to beg for attention to get our tea refilled.

Delicious, fresh and good quality sushi. I didn t quite like the ebi gyoza and this weird fish (not cooked properly, has scales on it and raw batter) on the special menu. Service is great because less customers and many staff during a weekday dinner

I'm personally quite blown away by the price to value ratio that I've gotten here at sushi tei. Although the sashimi comes only in 3 or 5 slices, they're thick and juicy, and for the price, it's definitely worth the visit. The same could be said for their tamago, the salmon belly sashimi, and their expensive-sounding menu items.

Was quite pleasantly surprised by the beef sukiyaki, as it didn't look that good at first but tasted quite yummy. Their sushi is average, and given that Sushi Tei in Singapore is of a premium build, I was quite taken aback here.

Service is above average, although more proactivity can be had here. Was initially given a bar seat for the 2 of us, and only when I asked, was given a squeezy 2-persons table. After I've ordered, and when they served the first item, I had to ask them to have a switch of table looking at the amount of food we ordered. It was given, but that should have been automatically granted in my opinion.

I am very certain that they hire a chef from a Chinese restaurant with my following observation:

1) Rice is too hot when served and it is very sticky(like LO MAI GAI). It is so hot to the extend it burn your tongue. In case you have no idea what this means, rice serve are never suppose to be this hot.

2) Salmon is not fresh, can easily tell from the colour, instead of a bright pink/orange, you get a dull pink colour meat. The moment you eat it, wah.... Tasteless.

3) Salmon roe is not fresh, it is very fishy and is not suppose to be this fishy if it is fresh. If you think salmon roe is always this fishy. Congratulations, that means you never had fresh salmon roe your whole life.

4) Sushi rice is tasteless and taste like normal rice serve at Chinese restaurant. My friend's sister can do better than this and she suck at cooking!

In short, sushi mentai is definitely better than this sushi tei branch. I also had a serious diarrhea after my dinner.

If someone bother to write such a long review, it means something.

The ootoro sashimi was horrible (without even considering the price). It had a very fishy smell and the texture was chewy and I could not bring myself to eat it (I have had ootoro sashimi many times in Japan and so I could tell this was really bad quality).

However ootoro sashimi aside, the hot dishes and the salmon belly sashimi were very good. Just avoid the ootoro sashimi and it's a great place for Japanese food at a decently affordable price.

This restaurant offered some vegetarian option and clearly label on menu. Their new menu offered healthy vegetarian choices and you could easily identify vegetarian option on a full page. Also introduce poke bowl in menu mainly for salmon.. Perhaps this could probably also have additional poke bowl vegetarian as one of the option in future. Overall food is tasty and good service. Will come back again.

They need to have a quality review, it used to be a better place but now some of the fish is quite bad (not as in rotten but badly cut), the tuna is quite chewy (and normally always comes direct from the fridge), and the fatty salmon sashimi is cut so terribly it's practically inedible. If you stick to salmon and cooked dishes you should be ok. I love the maguro lover.

Good location, excellent taste, reasonable prices for the quality of food and services provided. Alcohol is rather expensive. Can be a bit crowded in the afternoon. I like the NU Sentral branch the most.

Tried Sushi Tei for the first time. The service is okay and the food is normal. Nothing extravagant or extraordinary sushi or sashimi. If you are in a hurry, this is the place to go for a quick lunch or dinner. The staffs should pay more attention on customers' needs such as refill the table utilities etc. The wasabi is one of the worst I ever tried. The tan tan ramen is tasty.
