So, I'll keep this pretty simple: we've had the folks from Sushi Taka come over to our office a few times to make on-the-spot sushi rolls/burritos a la Sushirrito, using fresh ingredients (especially the fish!) and deliciously seasoned sushi rice, albeit going a bit heavy on the rice unless you specify otherwise. All in all though, they serve up a pretty tasty meal.
The stuff was friendly and the service was quick. The taste however was not great. I ordered a Fire Bowl because I like spicy food. Yes it was spicy but not tasty at all. What turned me off the most of was the lumpy white rice that was also some part hard and chewy, and a kind of smelly salmon marinated with mayonnaise like sauce... Sorry but they are doing the disservice to the name 'Taka' or 'Japanese'... :-(
The best sushi for the price. Free mitsu soop and edamame makes it that much more worth it. Heaven in my mouth! Noms!
Sushi Taka has so many tasty options. I think I come here about once a week (!!) with my coworkers to pick up lunch. I mainly get some version of the poke bowls, but I've also tried the cooked unagi bowl (which was good, but not my favourite). I prefer to take my lunch order to-go and eat it more comfortably in a park nearby or back at the office. However, they do have a small seating area outside if you need a place to stay. (I've only stayed to eat lunch there once, which was fine, but it was a busy street with lots of cars and people, so it wasn't very peaceful). Usually when I come to Sushi Taka during lunch rush hour, there's a line out the door and around the corner. Luckily, they participate in a lot of pickup (Postmates, Ritual, etc.) and delivery (Postmates, Grubhub, etc.) programs if you're more time constrained; I usually use pickup and don't need to wait in line, which is fab! Sushi Taka (despite it being a bit of a walk for me) is definitely one of my favourite lunch places, and I'm sure I'll be back soon for more :)
I loved Sushi Taka. Special mention for their Fire Bowl
In addition to eating too much, others are good ~

Flavors are great in the chirashi bowl and the serving size is huge. One minor complaint some of the fish was cut a little too thick for my liking.
Good quality fish, get the fire bowl! Lunch time is packed, be prepared to wait
Very good. Very pleased. Always 2 or more dedicated professionals. Sushi taka thank you
Good value and conveniently located, but unfortunately their chirashi doesn't use sushi rice
I like this place. Quick convenient and very reasonably priced.
Excellent.
Friendly.
There is a huge line anytime after 11:22am M-F
because it's that good.
I just got a dragon bowl and it's the best bowl I've had in forever. Salmon and Tuna with all sorts of goodies topped by a not too spicy wasabi sauce. Everything was fresh, the different flavors all blended together well, and different textures were great. I'll be back for this as many times as I can!
Spicy Tuna Burrito is spectacular, definitely going back to try other items!
John Matthews (based on Korean taste) in San's hand! The best menu Pokepokabol was the best! The disadvantage is that only takeout is possible? I'm not going to be a big disadvantage because I'm going to school for lunch.
Wonderful, fresh, large servings. Kind and helpful staff. Delicious food
Finally try it out before I leave SFO.
Amazing bowl and wrap, huge portion, couldnt finish it.
Great taste, fresh fish.
Very good Taka bowl with Tofu noodle. There was a line, because of lunch time, but it moved very quickly.
Excellent fish bowl. Extremely fast and reasonable prices. Bowl includes Edamame and and Miso Soup. May have to wait on line but its worth it.
I got their poke bowl from Meal pal it was pretty good.
Wonderful Place
I've been getting lunch here a few times a week for a year and the food is always great and you always get service with a smile.
Consistently good bowls & sushi burritos. Always fresh & tasty. Quick service despite the noontime line.
Great place for Japanese food. Good price and super friendly staff who also caters to wishes if it is not too far from the menu
I haven't had a lot of exposure to sushi, but my daughter wanted to have it for lunch so we ended up here. I'm so glad we did! We shared a Spicy Tuna Roll. It had all the components of what I consider high quality food: Fresh ingredients, and a blend of texture and flavors that played well together. I also want to mention the helpful friendliness of someone I assume was maybe the owner or a manager. He handed us menus while we stood in line, visited with us, and when he heard my daughter was on the lookout for bubble tea, not only suggested a quick spot to go for it, but walked us down around the block gave us tips for ordering it and then pointed out a pleasant nearby spot where we could enjoy our lunch. Charming!
Delicious Japanese food with nice service. Especially, seafood Sushi taka taste is great and staffs are very friendly.
Just had my chicken teriyaki burrito mixed with both different types of sauce (don't remember the names ). But it was amazing!!
Had dinner with girl friends. Menu is perfect, something for everyone. Service was awesome and they were very accommodating. Will be back definitely!
I heard a lot of good reviews about Sushi Taka so I decided to get my poke bowl for lunch. I was very disappointed by the quality of fish and the most frustrating was that I asked no tobiko (fish roe) cause I am allergic but when I opened my bowl at work I saw a lot of fish roe all over my food. Will never go back.
The best salmon and tuna ever. Friendly staff. My favorite lunch spot downtown.
I received my first delivery from sushi taka on Monday, and so far, I love it! I chose home delivery for convenience and so I'd have lunch on the first day. My delivery came around 2:30 a.m. This was expected, since the delivery window is from 10-7 overnight. Kind of a pain to have to keep my phone ringer on in order to buzz someone in the wee hours, and even more painful to actually have to wake up at that hour, but it feels like a somewhat okay-is tradeoff to not have to cook for 3 days. :) But still hoping they can maybe improve delivery windows in the future. Thank you sushi taka
Got the BBQ Sushi burrito. Comes with a side of Miso soup. It's unique twist on sushi meets burrito is fresh, and delicious
Simple and efficient sushi place. Tip: Eat it right away! Bruh, All handrolls and sushi look the same... why take a picture? Just sayinggg
Best casual sushi option in the area! The volcano bowl has a plenty of fresh salmon and spicy tuna. It also comes with miso soup and edamame. Great value for $10.
It was an ok sushi bowl. Honestly, the salmon doesn't taste very fresh and the fish roe is red which usually should be orange.
I really wasn't impressed by the flavor of the food. There are other restaurants in the area that have a better value.
Cheap and delicious food. I recomend eatting it in the park very close to the restaurant.
Not good - low quality fish
California roll with poke tuna and couldn t eat half because it was just not very good.
They've updated their operation a bit since I last came here for lunch. They've got a new prep style, some new menu items, new hours and seemingly new staff. Still tasty and still very friendly. Definitely a key lunch spot
Nice place to hangout with friends and colleagues after office hours
Came here to see if this place was better than sushirrito. I got the Sushi Taka Roll. The roll came out in less than a minute. I enjoyed the roll but thought it was alot smaller than the ones offered at Sushirrito. If you check in on yelp, you get a free miso soup. My girlfriend ordered the spicy taka roll which was ok. I actually felt it was weird that there was kim chi in the roll to make it spicy. The service was quick for a small bite but I was still hungry.
Delicious Japanese food with nice service. Especially, seafood Sushi taste is great and staffs are very friendly.
As other reviews have pointed out, rather similar to sushiritto, but nevertheless quite delicious. The people working there were friendly, and didn't give me a hard time when I asked for a small change to one of the rolls.
My favorite lunch in San Francisco. There is small public garden on next street with benches.
great food & folks behind the counter. Highly recommend the fire bowl w/double meat.
California rolls have to be the West Coast form of ambrosia
Delicious sushi burritos. Fresh and tasty. If a burrito isn't your style they have sushi bowls too. Been here many times and never have been disappointed. Sometimes lunch rush can have a bit of a line but if you have time it's worth it.
Love this place. Best poke for your buck I've ever had. It's always a treat to take my lunch hour to get some food from here. Personally love the Fire Bowl. A big plus in addition to taste and price is the short wait, little side menu items like spam/egg/rice they sell for a few bucks, as well as a kind staff.
I had the salmon and spicy tuna poke bowl. It was pretty good and at a fair price.
Nice gem for Japanese sushi and rice bowls, can get quite busy with lunch orders. Reasonably priced for SF, would recommend if you're in the area looking for a bite to eat.
Went at lunch and got the Poki Poki bowl. The employees looked like they were bored out of their minds. Dead expressions, unhappy faces. Only one guy, probably the manager, looked at all happy to be at work. Food was average.
Delicious sushi. I got the firebowl. It was very good and had just enough spice. The salmon here is so good and buttery. It's a good amount of food for the price too.
The place may look very small and not very appealing to someone. But don't be misled, try their meals and you will be surprised. I opened them via MealPal and liked their delicious salmon bento and salmon poke bowl. The personnel is very polite and attentive. I highly recommend them.
Amazing Food Sushi i like it.............. Thank you
Their rolls are great and have good flavor and fresh ingredients. I would be wary of the bento boxes until they work out the kinks. I haven't been happy with the ones i've had (yes they have a good quantity of food but the quality is lacking). Super nice service but it takes awhile during the busy lunch hour at times. Just go right before or after the lunch rush and you are set. I would have this place over Sushirito (down the street) any day.
I was waiting for long time to go here on lunch. My colleagues love food here. I took Shrimp Tempura Roll and it was awesome. Price was very reasonable too. It gets very crowded soon but you can try getting there early but they are very fast and polite as well.
We went at after 7pm and the choices at the isobunei were repetitive and limited. Lots of sliced pineapple, spicy crab roll and mochi but not much else.
We had an amazing time. The food at Sushi Taka is absolutely spectacular (we ate two meals there). Our waitress was just wonderful. What a great place!
Expect a long line at lunch hours.... But it's worth the wait
This sushi place is easily one of the freshest sushi places in the city with the most unbelievable prices on their menu. I can satisfy my sushi and sashimi cravings here at least twice in a short week of my visit from Malaysia. Staffs and owner are extremely nice people, just talk to them. I took a Lyft back here just for seconds.

My husband and I were only in time for the day and to pass some time before our departing flight we came to Mission Dolores Park, for how many times I've come to San Francisco I had never been in this area, so it was really nice getting to roam about. Thank you sushi ..
Amazing quality fish. Great staff, friendly service. Overall really happy with my meals when I eat here. The line gets crazy around 12-12.30 so make sure you get there a little early! Only complaint is sometimes the quantity of meat is low (depending on day/who makes dish) and when you Ask for a little extra fish they rarely comply. Otherwise the food is amazing!
Good lunch place. Maybe a bit better than Sushiritto. Will come again.
Great staff and good food. They are super fast, so the wait is less than few min.
Great little poke stop! A lot of people come here for lunch, but I love dropping by on my way home from work to pickup for dinner before they close at 7pm - no line, and still great poke!
