Line of 20 people out the door waiting for their takeout orders. No employees to be seen. People using phone flashlights to check for their food on a shelf that order bags are occasionally added to. Don't bother with this place until June. No way to cancel your expensive order. Grubhub is flooded with calls. Don't bother with this place.

You Shook Me All Night Long is my favorite sushi specialty there! Great atmosphere whether you are looking to eat, drink, or both. There s great tasting food and nice staff, and an even nicer owner! I highly recommend trying this restaurant out if you hadn t already!

Really nice and modern looking place! We pre-ordered some sushi, seaweed salat, miso soup and Dumplings. The pick up was well structured, friendly and on time. We will definitely come again! The food was delicious!

Went for happy hour and had a great experience! I tried the bulgogi sliders, tacos, tempura, and the spicy tuna roll. All were great but no doubt the bulgogi sliders were BOMB! I would go back just for those! Also, had a couple drinks. I would recommend the white rabbit!

Fresh sushi and good fusion food. Nice ambiance and helpful staff. There are also a few non-sushi items such as katsu and fish that are also really good. Wish there were more non-sushi options though.

I ordered Sushi Rock on Grubhub. I have been there a few times for happy hour and enjoyed it so I thought I would support this local business during the quarantine. I also scheduled the order ahead of time to assist the kitchen, well that was a mistake my food arrived soggy and cold, the crunchy sushi was horribly soggy. We asked for slider sauce on the side but it was on the burgers and since it has been sitting there for probably over an hour it was a sog fest. They also forgot one of my sushi orders on top of everything else. The delivery person was perfectly lovely. Food was pretty good. This review is more about the terrible service from the restaurant.

Ordered take out from here thru ChowNow and got a $10-off coupon since it was my first order from this place. The food was great. My sushi roll was good-sized and the veggie tempura was delicious. Would definitely come back next time I m in town.

Great spot for some specialty rolls, and their lunch specials are excellent. Strongly recommend their soups as well. Most prices are reasonable for the area -- specialty rolls run at about 14 dollars, along with their soups. Wait staff turn over seems a little high, so experiences may be mixed. That said, every server we've had has been pleasant and friendly.

I have come here twice, at the same time (11pm) on both occasions. The first time I came, it was 11pm and my guest and were told kitchen was closed. My second visit to this restaurant was a bit different, we were able to get a table and order. The sushi was just ok, their steak was well seasoned very tasty but their fried rice was crunch and burnt. While we could overlook some of these things, because the rest of our food not bad, about 10 minutes into our meal, someone began spraying the tables on both sides of our table with Windex, and began cleaning. If customer experience was of any concern, this would have been done after the restaurant was closed.

Good sushi but weird nonsense about how happy hour only applies to 6 seats in the building and if they re occupied unlucky son. Came on my own and ended up a la carte on a table on my own paying full ticket. Apart from the nickel and dime bait and switch happy hour thing, pretty good, nice rock music theme. Would have been 4/5 otherwise.

Ordered take out from here and food wasn't ready when they said it would be. Restaurant wasn't even busy. Hostess looked lost and confused, maybe she was new. The food was decent. Would eat again but probably not show up "on time" to get my food.

Service was amazing and that makes all the difference. Our waiter and the hostess staff were all so gracious and acomodating. I appreciate very polite staff and everyone was just that. Food was amazing. We got sushi and fried rice. Great food and excellent service.

I don't know much about history, biology, or sushi but to an uneducated sushi palate the food was meh. The service was attentive but seemed to be working more for the tip than creating a good experience for the customer.

All of the fish is fresh and tasty. All the dishes were plated well. Lots of space and large windows. The rent's gotta be expensive, though, because things that are usually included when you buy an entree, like soup, salad, and tea, are not included. So in addition to the already high prices, you'll need to pay $3 extra for each of the above, which really adds up. Five stars for quality, three stars for value.

Food was just ok. However the customer service was terrible! My wife asked the waiter if her dumplings had crab and he just laughed??? She has an allergy and he just laughed it off. The drinks were not great, I finally asked for a Tom Collins and it was awful. I sent it back. Their only good point was the free parking. Save your money.

I ve been a regular at sushi rock for a while now. I went on 11/11 in the evening to celebrate an anniversary. After ordering and I noticed something odd running across the table. It was a roach, I quickly trapped the roach under my cup and called for the server. The server came and was disgusted and went to get a manager (still leaving the roach on the table). The manager came (a younger gentlemen) who didn t acknowledge us or anything about the problem to us just simply cleaned the roach and left without saying a word. When we told them we wanted to leave they didn t offer condolences or anything, they might as well have shown us to the door happily. Highly disappointed, please don t waste your time eating here. Go somewhere that actually cares about the customer.

We had a wonderful time at Sushi Rock! Tonight was our first time there and it won't be our last. The staff was warm, welcoming, and attentive, the food was delicious, and during the prime of the evening we lingered at our table and weren't made to feel like we needed to make room for other customers. We'll definitely be going back!

Cool spot with a cool sushi selection & rock music. We ordered salmon & squid sashimi (the salmon was great, the squid was pretty awesome) & Sticky Fingers special rolls (I like eel, loved it) & Light My Fire (spicy salmon w jalapeno, which my wife enjoyed. Pros: Food was great & consistent from the last visit 3 years ago. Reasonably priced. Location is super convenient, space is nicely decorated & full of light. Cons: Our server was only okay, not very subtle, couldn t hear what he was saying. The billing system on an iPad was a bit strange, irresponsive & kind of a waste of time.

This place is so very grand!!! I frequent this place for $5 happy hour rolls and my partner and I may or may not have ordered like, 4 rolls per person once or twice. Judgement is welcomed, considering. Also, Sushi Rock understands that DC More

Blair was an excellent server period very friendly and conscientious of our needs. A nice place to sit and very unique decorum. I had the spicy pork barbecue which was not overly so. Nice little hearty salad that came with it. The ginger beer here is very good! Nice little bar. A good metro place to take a date.

Words can barely describe my obsession with Sushi Rock. It's just such solidly good sushi at a non-ridiculous price point. Plus they've really gone all in on the theme, which gives the place an added charm. I'm a special fan of their happy hours, which feature drink specials as well as a selection of $5 rolls. The yellowtail jalapeno roles have to be my favorite!

Poor service, they do not know what they are doing. Waited for 45 mins for a roll then they make excuses. No manager no one wants to get things done. No respect for your time, poor service. Not coming back. Nothing rocks here

One of two of my favorite sushi places in the entire Washington area! The Volcano Roll (not spicy) is a must. I think not spicy is made better than the spicy (they use different ingredients).

The place is nice. very loud. They try to accommodate everyone as much as they can. We were seated on the second floor near the wall where they stack plates. It was very annoying to my point because they were grabbing plates/glasses right behind me that sometimes I have to dock. Very uncool! We had the ceviche to start and it was really good. I like the lemon they added on top. The chips are crisp and a good partner with their ceviche. Rolls: Light My Fire - The most ordered rolls in Sushi Rock and you must get this! It is crunchy shrimp, spicy tuna, avocado, jalapeno, spicy aioli and eel bbq sauce. It is not as spicy as you think. Ahi Tower - not a fan. It was messy to grab with chopstick and putting all three ingredients together. It is spicy tuna, diced avocado, cayenne aioli, with white nishigi sushi rice and tobiko Stairway to Heaven - its okay. It is pretty much an ordinary roll. it is with yellowtail, white tuna, jalapeno, scallion, cilantro, pickled ginger, habanero, and balsamic sauce All in all, it is a pretty considerable place. Our bill wasn't bad at all. I would love to come back for some Light My Fire but would not seat again on that stupid area upstairs.

Haven't handed out a five star in, basically, ever. Well-deserved though. They were very accomodatiaccof my wife and I who got there late from out of town and they took care of us and gave us what we feel to be some of the best quality sushi we've had. If we ever come back to this area again, we'll be visiting this restaurant again indefinitely.
