This is a very dangerous company. I am a guardian for my nephew and he is being subjected to violence from roommate. They have been telling us they are moving roommate out but it has been 4 long months! And they refuse to get any help for roommate when he exhibits violence. Last night he attacked my nephew again on the stairs even with aide right there. Staff obviously was not trained because we are told staff is always supposed to be between guys and she didn't. They shoot the messenger BIG TIME and Calle M. made things much worse for us too!
Sunnyhill, Inc. is a wonderful organization. This organization works diligently to help children and adults with developmental disabilities and helps create opportunities that these individuals would not have had without Sunnyhill. Whether it is attending their fully handicap accessible camp in Dittmer, MO, or being part of one of their year round programs, Sunnyhill, as a whole, works hard to make sure that the people they serve are getting the care they deserve, and the life they were meant to live. A wonderful organization, doing amazing things to help people have amazing lives.
Not a good company. The staff in the field is treated as slaves that worked the field. They're understaffed and under paid. I was terminated for taking PTO. They said I abandoned the job. Which was absolutely false. I had over 200 plus hours of PTO that accumulated and approved by my supervisor. Calle m. has a personal issue with me and talked about me to other staff even as far as to make a joke about my vitiligo before. The people in the office pressures the staff to work shifts they didn't sign on for and a threaten they're job if they dont comply. Very unprofessional and talks bad about staff personal issues to others in the company.
I've been signed up for this organization since 2007 and it's a lot safer than going alone, getting robed and getting the identity stolen from crooks. The weekend road trip was great for fun.
The management staff is completely disrespectful to the other employees. The work environment is highly toxic and severely threatening. This is not a job but a license for Sunnyhill Management to jeopardize your abilities as an employee but will chastise you continuously. Do yourself a favor and keep your dignity intact and never work for this deplorable company!
This company is ok to start but don't expect promotions unless you're a blood relative, sleeping with someone in upper management, or just caught someone's eye. The nepotism is ridiculous. They will lie to and tell you that you can move up through hard work, but hard work is punished. If you're good at your job, they give you more work. If you suck at your job, they promote you. It's like being back in high school, the popular kids rule. The previous comment about skin color is dead on as well. Good luck. You'll hate this company after less than a year. The vice president lies (he promised me extra money for extra work and then refused to pay) so do not trust anything he says unless it is in writing. Most of the other admins are not to be trusted. Whatever makes them look good works for them.
PS- The "grievance procedure" is meaningless noise that basically tells you, you're wrong and they're right no matter the circumstances. If it wasn't true, there wouldn't be a response.
I worked for this company for two years. I always thought it was a great company to work for and they did wonderful things for people and they do. But they treat their employees badly. I had always done my job the right way. I recently made one mistake and got fired. No warning no verbal conversation no write up or anything.
