I had a terrible experience with my cross-country move. First- after packing up all our items, our driver called and gave us a reasonable time of his arrival but did not mention that half of our stuff didn t fit on the truck because they chose to accommodate someone else who was over their weight limit. Two days later we received that call from our moving coordinator. At that time they could not give us an estimate of when our other items would arrive nor did they know what the items missing were. We found out from the driver, that he knew our stuff wouldn t fit on the truck but he didn t want to make the tough phone call so he pushed it on to someone else. Second- we arrived to accept the first shipment and the crew was 3 hours late. After unloading we realized that we only received our kitchen and bedroom items...no furniture. And still no update on when we would receive the second shipment. Third- scheduling the second shipment was one of the most frustrating parts so far. First they said it would happen sometime on a Monday but after waiting all day we found it out wouldn t be until Friday. Which meant we had to cancel a family trip. it took two weeks after the first shipment for us to have something other than a bed to sit on. Finally our furniture came but many items were broken in the second shipment and a huge rug went missing. It has now been two weeks since the second shipment of items and we still haven t gotten through the claims process. Our claims rep, Tina, is very argumentative and difficult to communicate with. It seems that the only way to get anything done is by talking to a supervisor. I still haven t received any money or repairs for the broken items and claims is refusing to give us the full value of the rug that they lost. I am fortunate enough to have my company relocate me but it seems that suddath doesn t want to treat me like the others who gave a 4.7 star review. After reading reviews on the company website, as well as info from our driver, it seems that they don t treat the military very well either, please keep thAt in mind when choosing a relocation company.
