About Sudbury Action Centre for Youth
Sudbury Action Centre for Youth (SACY) is a non-profit organization that provides support and services to young people in Sudbury, Ontario. The organization's mission is to empower youth by offering a safe and non-judgmental space where they can access the resources they need to thrive.
At SACY, we believe that every young person deserves respect, support, and empowerment. We understand that growing up can be challenging, especially for those who face difficult circumstances such as poverty, homelessness, or mental health issues. That's why we offer a range of programs and services designed to meet the unique needs of each individual who walks through our doors.
One of our core programs is our drop-in centre. This is a safe space where youth can come to hang out with friends or meet new people. Our staff are always on hand to provide support and guidance if needed. We also offer free snacks and beverages as well as access to computers, games, books, and other resources.
In addition to our drop-in centre, we offer several other programs aimed at supporting youth in different areas of their lives. For example:
- Our housing program helps young people who are experiencing homelessness or at risk of becoming homeless find stable housing.
- Our mental health program provides counseling services for those struggling with anxiety, depression or other mental health issues.
- Our employment program offers job training and placement assistance for those looking for work.
- Our education program provides tutoring services for students who need extra help with their studies.
All of our programs are designed with the goal of empowering youth so that they can reach their full potential. We believe that by providing them with the tools they need to succeed - whether it's stable housing or job training - we can help break the cycle of poverty and create a brighter future for everyone in Sudbury.
At SACY we pride ourselves on being an inclusive organization that welcomes all young people regardless of race, gender identity or sexual orientation. We strive to create an environment where everyone feels valued and respected.
