Decent desserts and treats. Something about Sucre ...

Decent desserts and treats. Something about Sucre really confused me though. They only offer their food in take-out boxes and offer plastic spoons due to covid, which is understandable. What isn't is what I witnessed while eating which was a customer being given a cupcake she had bought on a plate and metal utensils to eat it with. I do not understand why this customer was given better treatment then most and I would love an explanation.

DESSERT HEAVEN!!

DESSERT HEAVEN!!

okay, sure, I'm biased. I love dark truffles, macaroons, and wine -- all of which they have plenty at Sucre.

For $14, you can have 4 delectable truffles paired with a glass of poison of your choice. For me, it was a glass of Cab which went perfectly with the dark truffles that the store clerk recommended.

As for the macaroons, they carry 12 different flavors. I took home a box of 15 so that I can sample all the flavors plus more. As promised, the macaroons lasted more than a week. I ate them slowly, indulging throughout the week. These macaroons are on the crispy airy side. My favorite was the hazelnut. A box of 15 cost $23 making each macaroon about $1.50. Price wise, this is pretty typical for macaroons.

They also have rows of pastries which unfortunately I was too full to taste. They did look delicious though!

P.S. don't waste your breath on the gelato -- it's not their forte. Skip the front and head straight to the chocolate and macaroons!

Extra star - they close at midnight! skip the dessert at the restaurant and head over to Sucre after dinner instead!

As I write this, you should I know I'm sitting in complete and utter comatose! With peanut butter ice cream, triple chocolate puff-n-stuff, and melt in your mouth macaroons, you'll feel like charlie in the chocolate factory!

Lots and lots of sweets. Really big selection of ice cream, cup cakes, eclairs and much more. The world famous eclair was just ok. Nothing too exciting about it. The ice cream with pralines and bananas foster was really good. The desserts here are really rich and sweet so you'll need to drink some water or milk. Fun place to take the family for a treat

Beautiful displays. All staff except lady serving ice cream, seemed unhappy to be there. Took quite awhile for any of them to offer to help us. They were restocking pastries & while brining a plastic tub of eclairs from the back, a staff member coughed over them. Needless to say, I quickly changed my mind about buying any pastries. We bought a box with 2 of several different kinds of chocolates. The chocolates were nice. Good textures & nice flavor profiles & flavor development in most. We almost went with ice cream since the lady serving it was the only nice, helpful staff member, but our plan was to get deserts to try for later & the ice cream wouldn't have lasted til we got it to a feezer.

It's a nice place and some of the best gelato you're gonna find in the city. Pastries aren't quite worth their weight, but are tasty none the less. A note about their coffee, its actually the same company that supplies French Press coffeehouses and Puccinos just up-charged a whole lot more to bring it up to the rest of their boutique prices. This isn't a terrible problem since there are something like a half dozen other coffeehouses within walking distance. In short, try this place out for nice desserts, go to another place for coffee afterwards.

Must visit. Excellent chocolate truffles and gelato. Although best known for their macaroons, I personally never cared for those insubstantial bites of scented air. The hot chocolate and teas are quite good.

I stopped by Sucre on a recent trip to New Orleans...let me tell you this place is fantastic. There customer service was great as well. As soon as I walked in the door I was greeted and felt very welcome. I have a major sweet tooth so any time I travel (which is alot) I try out places like this. So far Sucre takes the cake as my favorite!

I love getting a treat from Sucre and I especially love getting gifts from Sucre! The macaroons and chocolates are packaged so beautifully and travel really well. I've shipped both during Christmas to family living out-of-state and the whole experience was excellent!

Fantastic selection of gelato flavors, each one more tastier than the next. My favorite is pistachio and cafe au lait. Other various confections are always available but their King Cake IS THE BEST! My only complaint is that this place makes me fat because everything is so damn good. I have terrible will power and stuff my pie hole everytime I visit.

Neither desserts nor ice creams were good enough for the price. Really claustrophobic atmosphere, mirrors did not create the feeling of space. Lighting feels like an hospital.

Edit after a while: Also, how can you expect us to buy chocolates without sampling?
